Hey guys! It is saturday! What are your plans for the weekend... besides going to church tomorrow!! :) I hope you have some exciting things going on today... if you do... call me up and invite me!!!! :)

A Few Thoughts: Someone call Jake, Bethany, Jessica B., Jon Massey, Jessica M., and Rachel Mace and tell them to DO THEIR DEVOTIONS!!!! :)

Psalm 8

1 O LORD, our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens.
2 Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger.
3 When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;
4 What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?
5 For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.
6 Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:
7 All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field;
8 The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas.
9 O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth!

What a great passage to remind us of How GREAT OUR GOD IS... that can almost sound cliche because we sings songs about it all the time and probably forget to think about the words. But the fact is that we have an amazing God. I love verse 4 where it says: WHAT IS MAN? That thou art mindful of Him... In other words, the writer is saying... Who in the world do we think we are, and why do you love little old us so much! I cant understand it, but I am sure glad that He does love us!

O Lord, MY LORD, how excellent is thy name in ALL THE EARTH!!!!! We have a wonderful God who chose to love us when we are/ were absolutely unloveable!!!!

When I read verse 3, it reminded me of how perfect and complex the Earth and the universe works. Scientists say our whole world as we know it, was an accedent. Scientists, explain this: Our Earth is in a VERY VERY PERFECT position from the sun, our moon controls the tides perfectly, the seasons of the earth affect wildlife, and the seasons just happen to come at the perfect time of EVERY animal's, our bodies react to a touch or feel IMMEDIATLY after, our five senses all work together with each other... the lst goes on... NEVER NEVER NEVER DID THIS WORLD COME into existance by AN ACCEDENT AND everything works PERFECTLY! You know why everything works perfectly? Because we have a perfect Creator. That's why!!

as soon as I read the first verse I knew it sounded like a song we sing in church. ok on to the devos. one verse that I liked was verse 6 because it tells us how much God loves us by giving us the whole earth. we should be thankful for God giving us the earth and we should give thanks to Him.

also sorry about not being on the devos. this past week, I have had a lot of basketball games this week and practices have been long...so sorry about that.

I AM SOOOOOOOOOOO TIRED!!!!! We ended up getting 7 trophies and 8 medals. After these devos I am going straight to bed.

So for the devos...
It pretty much states how much god rules, and tells us that the human race is so insignificant. Kinda like each person is a grain of sand in god's swimshorts after getting his body buried in sand. So God is awe some and perfect, and in the first verse if you switch the word excellent with majestic you would have a hymn.
