Pastor Lee said he still doesn't have internet at his new house yet, so I may be doing it for a while. All the same, you still get to be in God's Word.

Proverbs 8

1 Doth not wisdom cry? and understanding put forth her voice?
2 She standeth in the top of high places, by the way in the places of the paths.
3 She crieth at the gates, at the entry of the city, at the coming in at the doors.
4 Unto you, O men, I call; and my voice is to the sons of man.
5 O ye simple, understand wisdom: and, ye fools, be ye of an understanding heart.
6 Hear; for I will speak of excellent things; and the opening of my lips shall be right things.
7 For my mouth shall speak truth; and wickedness is an abomination to my lips.
8 All the words of my mouth are in righteousness; there is nothing froward or perverse in them.
9 They are all plain to him that understandeth, and right to them that find knowledge.
10 Receive my instruction, and not silver; and knowledge rather than choice gold.
11 For wisdom is better than rubies; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it.
12 I wisdom dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge of witty inventions.
13 The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.
14 Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom: I am understanding; I have strength.
15 By me kings reign, and princes decree justice.
16 By me princes rule, and nobles, even all the judges of the earth.
17 I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.
18 Riches and honour are with me; yea, durable riches and righteousness.
19 My fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold; and my revenue than choice silver.
20 I lead in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of judgment:
21 That I may cause those that love me to inherit substance; and I will fill their treasures.
22 The LORD possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old.
23 I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was.
24 When there were no depths, I was brought forth; when there were no fountains abounding with water.
25 Before the mountains were settled, before the hills was I brought forth:
26 While as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the highest part of the dust of the world.
27 When he prepared the heavens, I was there: when he set a compass upon the face of the depth:
28 When he established the clouds above: when he strengthened the fountains of the deep:
29 When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment: when he appointed the foundations of the earth:
30 Then I was by him, as one brought up with him: and I was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him;
31 Rejoicing in the habitable part of his earth; and my delights were with the sons of men.
32 Now therefore hearken unto me, O ye children: for blessed are they that keep my ways.
33 Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not.
34 Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors.
35 For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the LORD.
36 But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death.

I have no clue why PL hasn't put up the devotions yet, So I will put them up for today.

Proverbs 7

1 My son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with thee.
2 Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye.
3 Bind them upon thy fingers, write them upon the table of thine heart.
4 Say unto wisdom, Thou art my sister; and call understanding thy kinswoman:
5 That they may keep thee from the strange woman, from the stranger which flattereth with her words.
6 For at the window of my house I looked through my casement,
7 And beheld among the simple ones, I discerned among the youths, a young man void of understanding,
8 Passing through the street near her corner; and he went the way to her house,
9 In the twilight, in the evening, in the black and dark night:
10 And, behold, there met him a woman with the attire of an harlot, and subtil of heart.
11 (She is loud and stubborn; her feet abide not in her house:
12 Now is she without, now in the streets, and lieth in wait at every corner.)
13 So she caught him, and kissed him, and with an impudent face said unto him,
14 I have peace offerings with me; this day have I payed my vows.
15 Therefore came I forth to meet thee, diligently to seek thy face, and I have found thee.
16 I have decked my bed with coverings of tapestry, with carved works, with fine linen of Egypt.
17 I have perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.
18 Come, let us take our fill of love until the morning: let us solace ourselves with loves.
19 For the goodman is not at home, he is gone a long journey:

20 He hath taken a bag of money with him, and will come home at the day appointed.
21 With her much fair speech she caused him to yield, with the flattering of her lips she forced him.
22 He goeth after her straightway, as an ox goeth to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the stocks;
23 Till a dart strike through his liver; as a bird hasteth to the snare, and knoweth not that it is for his life.
24 Hearken unto me now therefore, O ye children, and attend to the words of my mouth.
25 Let not thine heart decline to her ways, go not astray in her paths.
26 For she hath cast down many wounded: yea, many strong men have been slain by her.
27 Her house is the way to hell, going down to the chambers of death.

Hey Everone! I am excited about everything slowing down between now and Christmas. I REALLY want to get things rolling again with the devotions!! We need to get all of our stragglers back on track...

A Few Thoughts From Yesterday:
Anonymous: Thanks for posting a response! You have made it clear that you were not bragging about sin. I believe you. I am sorry that you are not cheering anymore. I hope that you will come and get back involved with us in youth group!! We want you here!!!!
Kervin: I am thankful that you are back on here again. We miss you in church.
Michael: That was some good stuff! I especially appreciate your kindness to anonymous.
Gaby: I am very thankful that you are making these devotions a priority. We missed you last night! You are right about congress being the more powerful lawmaker, I hope you are right that everything works out ok. I know you are right when you said: God is in control, so we don't have to worry about it :)
Rachel: You are a funny girl!... thats all I have to say about that.

Proverbs 6

1 My son, if thou be surety for thy friend, if thou hast stricken thy hand with a stranger,
2 Thou art snared with the words of thy mouth, thou art taken with the words of thy mouth.
3 Do this now, my son, and deliver thyself, when thou art come into the hand of thy friend; go, humble thyself, and make sure thy friend.
4 Give not sleep to thine eyes, nor slumber to thine eyelids.
5 Deliver thyself as a roe from the hand of the hunter, and as a bird from the hand of the fowler.
6 Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise:
7 Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler,
8 Provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest.
9 How long wilt thou sleep, O sluggard? when wilt thou arise out of thy sleep?
10 Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep:
11 So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth, and thy want as an armed man.
12 A naughty person, a wicked man, walketh with a froward mouth.
13 He winketh with his eyes, he speaketh with his feet, he teacheth with his fingers;
14 Frowardness is in his heart, he deviseth mischief continually; he soweth discord.
15 Therefore shall his calamity come suddenly; suddenly shall he be broken without remedy.
16 These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:
17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
18 An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,
19 A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.
20 My son, keep thy father's commandment, and forsake not the law of thy mother:
21 Bind them continually upon thine heart, and tie them about thy neck.
22 When thou goest, it shall lead thee; when thou sleepest, it shall keep thee; and when thou awakest, it shall talk with thee.
23 For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life:
24 To keep thee from the evil woman, from the flattery of the tongue of a strange woman.
25 Lust not after her beauty in thine heart; neither let her take thee with her eyelids.
26 For by means of a whorish woman a man is brought to a piece of bread: and the adultress will hunt for the precious life.
27 Can a man take fire in his bosom, and his clothes not be burned?
28 Can one go upon hot coals, and his feet not be burned?
29 So he that goeth in to his neighbour's wife; whosoever toucheth her shall not be innocent.
30 Men do not despise a thief, if he steal to satisfy his soul when he is hungry;
31 But if he be found, he shall restore sevenfold; he shall give all the substance of his house.
32 But whoso committeth adultery with a woman lacketh understanding: he that doeth it destroyeth his own soul.
33 A wound and dishonour shall he get; and his reproach shall not be wiped away.
34 For jealousy is the rage of a man: therefore he will not spare in the day of vengeance.
35 He will not regard any ransom; neither will he rest content, though thou givest many gifts.

YIKES!! This is some serious stuff! Let me explain the three main things that jumped out to me in this passage:

1. Verses 4 - 11 make it clear that it is NOT WISE to be LAZY!!! We should look at an ant. Even though the ant has no overseer, or manager, they still work work work... We too need to work if we expect to accomplish great things in this life.

2. Verses 16 - 18 ARE HUGE!!! These are 7 things that GOD HATES!!!! In fact it says it is an abomination... that simply means GOD HATES HATES HATES IT!!!!!!!!! Everything from lying, gossiping, a wicked heart, a trouble maker, a proud person... Have you been guilty of any of these any time recently?? I HAVE! I do not want to be guilty of doing something that God REALLY REALLY HATES!!! God please help me to avoid these sins that you hate so much!!

3. Finally the big ouch... Verses 23 - 35. Stay away from the Evil woman!! she will try to seduce you, she will try to flatter you and flirt with you. Making you so foolish that you will eat bread out of her hand... JUST LIKE A DOG!!!!

Do you REALLY THINK that you can play with fire and not get burned?? Do you really think that you can walk on hot coals without burning your feet? NO!!! THEN WHY DO YOU THINK THAT YOU CAN COMMIT ADULTERY OR FORNICATION WITHOUT GETTING HURT?

You WILL GET HURT IF YOU DO THAT!!!!!!

Verse 33 says A WOUND AND DISHONOUR SHALL HE GET!!!!

That is not what I want in my life!!!!!!

WEDNESDAY, November 5th, 2008

Hey Everyone! There is a lot of information today! But it is good stuff, so take an extra few minutes to read it and apply it to your life.

A Few Thoughts From Yesterday:
Anonymous: I am glad that you feel that you can share with us on this blog. I am concerned though about some of your wording... Some of the things you said almost made it sound like you were trying to brag about your sin...

I did not want to delete your comment because I still feel like there is definitely alot to be learned from what you said...

First of all: I say all of this with love and not with an ounce of judgment, because I could be where you are in a second if it were not for the grace of God.

The key sentance that you said is: "I know it's time to get my life back on track"

Well, then there are some things that have to change... What got you off track? I know that you say that your friends love you and they are always there for you... I hope they are. Because if they are real friends, that care more about you than themselves, then they will not judge you if you tell them you need to break away from the weed and the homosexual lifestyle.

As I read your words, it is clear that all of those friends and their actions have become such a common place that it doesnt even bother you to say about your "closest" friends: "everymorning they are hungover". When sin becomes a commonplace it is very dangerous! That is why in yesterdays devotion it said: RUN AWAY FROM THOSE THAT ARE INVOLVED IN SIN!!

To be honest I have NO CLUE who you are... I cannot think of a cheerleader who was also on the devotional blog for a while... I am sorry... but I said that to let you know that I am not judging you or your friends... The fact is YOU SAID THE TRUTH YOURSELF...

"I remember when i wanted God in my life, and when i was saved.. i thought it was the most amazing feeling ever"

It is an amazing feeling, but that is not what it is all about... Feelings are emotions which can be deceiving... Your relationship with God should not be about feelings, but about fact... about the truth of Gods word. If you were saved then you are STILL SAVED... you cannot lose that. But you may be so wrapped up in the wrong things that you wonder how you could still be saved.

I want to help you, but I cannot help you on this blog in one day... Call me and I will schedule a time when we can get together for some counseling... with me or Katie...
Love you! And Praying For You!
Pastor Lee

Well Congratulations to Barack Obama for becoming our 44th president. I want to do a little devotion today before the main devotion of Proverbs 5.

Over the past several years our Nation has mocked and disrespected our President over and over. Although I personally do not agree with every decisions made by our current president, I must say that the disrespect of the people of America to their Chief Authority, a man who gave his life to serve his country, is absolutely inappropriate.

With that being said... I could easily begin spewing out all of the reasons why I do not think Obama will be the best president for our nation, But the fact is that HE WILL BE OUR NEXT PRESIDENT, and God COMMANDS that we respect Him, not for what he does... but because of who he is.

Romans 13:

1 Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God.
2 Therefore whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves.

Let's not be Hypocritical in how we treat our next president... I remember growing up and hearing people disrespect Bill Clinton all of the time, and although he did many dishonorable things: God says to be subject to that authority.

On to today's devotions:

Proverbs 5

1 My son, pay attention to my wisdom; Lend your ear to my understanding,
2 That you may preserve discretion, And your lips may keep knowledge.
3 For the lips of an immoral woman drip honey, And her mouth is smoother than oil;
4 But in the end she is bitter as wormwood, Sharp as a two-edged sword.
5 Her feet go down to death, Her steps lay hold of hell.
6 Lest you ponder her path of life— Her ways are unstable; You do not know them.
7 Therefore hear me now, my children, And do not depart from the words of my mouth.
8 Remove your way far from her, And do not go near the door of her house,
9 Lest you give your honor to others, And your years to the cruel one;
10 Lest aliens be filled with your wealth, And your labors go to the house of a foreigner;
11 And you mourn at last, When your flesh and your body are consumed,
12 And say: “ How I have hated instruction, And my heart despised correction!
13 I have not obeyed the voice of my teachers, Nor inclined my ear to those who instructed me!
14 I was on the verge of total ruin, In the midst of the assembly and congregation.”
15 Drink water from your own cistern, And running water from your own well.
16 Should your fountains be dispersed abroad, Streams of water in the streets?
17 Let them be only your own, And not for strangers with you.
18 Let your fountain be blessed, And rejoice with the wife of your youth.
19 As a loving deer and a graceful doe, Let her breasts satisfy you at all times; And always be enraptured with her love.
20 For why should you, my son, be enraptured by an immoral woman, And be embraced in the arms of a seductress?
21 For the ways of man are before the eyes of the LORD, And He ponders all his paths.
22 His own iniquities entrap the wicked man, And he is caught in the cords of his sin.
23 He shall die for lack of instruction, And in the greatness of his folly he shall go astray.

Wow! What a way to finish this long devotion today... This chapter is like "Desperate Housewives of the Bible"... Solomon is telling us... DO NOT BE TEMPTED BY A SEDUCING WOMAN!!! RUN! RUN! RUN!!!!! She will destroy your life... For a few moments of pleasure you will give up your honor, your testimony, your peace, your joy, your family, your relationship with God... ALL OF IT WILL BE DESTROYED!

Just last night I was in walmart talking to a woman who told me her husband left her one year ago for another woman... She said that he is miserable now, with no money, and he can never see his daughter again... SO MUCH HURTING AND SO MUCH DESTRUCTION BECAUSE OF ONE MISTAKE...

Some may read this and think... God does not want us to have any fun... Those some are not very smart... Let me explain: God wants us to have the MOST FUN!!!! That is why he goes on to tell us how to have fun in a way that we do not have to be GUILTY FOR!!!!!

HELLO!! DID YOU READ VERSES 18 and 19: God wants us to enjoy the gift of Sex and everything that goes along with it, IN THE BEST WAY!!! AND THAT IS WITH OUR WIFE ONLY!!!!

Ladies: the message is cear for you: Dont be a seducer... SAVE YOURSELF FOR YOUR HUSBAND!!!

Wow! This is a devotional to go down in the history books!

HA! Historical Election! Historical Devotion!! :)

History will be made today! I'm glad I have off from school today. Continue to be faithful on the devotions!

Proverbs 4

1 Hear, ye children, the instruction of a father, and attend to know understanding.
2 For I give you good doctrine, forsake ye not my law.
3 For I was my father's son, tender and only beloved in the sight of my mother.
4 He taught me also, and said unto me, Let thine heart retain my words: keep my commandments, and live.
5 Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth.
6 Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee: love her, and she shall keep thee.
7 Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.
8 Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honour, when thou dost embrace her.
9 She shall give to thine head an ornament of grace: a crown of glory shall she deliver to thee.
10 Hear, O my son, and receive my sayings; and the years of thy life shall be many.
11 I have taught thee in the way of wisdom; I have led thee in right paths.
12 When thou goest, thy steps shall not be straitened; and when thou runnest, thou shalt not stumble.
13 Take fast hold of instruction; let her not go: keep her; for she is thy life.
14
Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil men.
15 Avoid it, pass not by it, turn from it, and pass away.
16 For they sleep not, except they have done mischief; and their sleep is taken away, unless they cause some to fall.
17 For they eat the bread of wickedness, and drink the wine of violence.
18 But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.

19 The way of the wicked is as darkness: they know not at what they stumble.
20 My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.
21 Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.
22 For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.
23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.
24 Put away from thee a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee.
25 Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee.
26 Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established.
27 Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.

This is once again such an important passage. I think one of the most important verses in this chapter is verses 14, and 15. Think about these words: Do not go NEAR the way of Evil men... In fact... AVOID IT, PASS NOT BY IT, TURN FROM IT, and PASS AWAY!!!!!

Could that be any more clear? you see, sometimes we think that we can stay strong and live for God even when we are around ungodly friends... but the truth is that God's wisdom tells us DON'T EVEN GO NEAR THOSE KIND OF FRIENDS BECAUSE THEY WILL DESTROY YOU!!!!

I know that is so truthful! When I was a teenager, I was closest to God when I had no bad friends and I was the farthest from the Lord when I got close to bad friends!

What kind of friends do you have now? What kinds of people are influencing you every day? If you find out that you have UNGODLY PEOPLE Influencing you... then do what this passage says to do... RUN AWAY FROM THEM!!!!!

MONDAY, November 3rd, 2008

Hey Everyone! I am so glad that we made it through all of our exciting plans throughout the last two weeks. Wow! It was so incredibly busy, but very much worth it! I moved my house, I had a crown put in at the dentist, we did Trunk or Treat, Anniversary Sunday, Moved Mrs. Barb into Her house, AND Men's Prayer breakfast!! Wow! I need a nap :)

Just kidding, I went to bed at 9:30 last night, so I am well rested and ready to jump on the next big thing... SUPERBOWL!!!!!!!

Well, lets do our devotions!

Proverbs 3

1 My son, do not forget my law, But let your heart keep my commands;
2 For length of days and long life And peace they will add to you.
3 Let not mercy and truth forsake you; Bind them around your neck, Write them on the tablet of your heart,
4 And so find favor and high esteem In the sight of God and man.
5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding;
6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.
7 Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the LORD and depart from evil.
8 It will be health to your flesh, And strength to your bones.
9 Honor the LORD with your possessions, And with the firstfruits of all your increase;
10 So your barns will be filled with plenty, And your vats will overflow with new wine.
11 My son, do not despise the chastening of the LORD, Nor detest His correction;
12 For whom the LORD loves He corrects, Just as a father the son in whom he delights.
13 Happy is the man who finds wisdom, And the man who gains understanding;
14 For her proceeds are better than the profits of silver, And her gain than fine gold.
15 She is more precious than rubies, And all the things you may desire cannot compare with her.
16 Length of days is in her right hand, In her left hand riches and honor.
17 Her ways are ways of pleasantness, And all her paths are peace.
18 She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her, And happy are all who retain her.
19 The LORD by wisdom founded the earth; By understanding He established the heavens;
20 By His knowledge the depths were broken up, And clouds drop down the dew.
21 My son, let them not depart from your eyes— Keep sound wisdom and discretion;
22 So they will be life to your soul And grace to your neck.
23 Then you will walk safely in your way, And your foot will not stumble.
24 When you lie down, you will not be afraid; Yes, you will lie down and your sleep will be sweet.
25 Do not be afraid of sudden terror, Nor of trouble from the wicked when it comes;
26 For the LORD will be your confidence, And will keep your foot from being caught.
27 Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, When it is in the power of your hand to do so.
28 Do not say to your neighbor, “ Go, and come back, And tomorrow I will give it,” When you have it with you.
29 Do not devise evil against your neighbor, For he dwells by you for safety’s sake.
30 Do not strive with a man without cause, If he has done you no harm.
31 Do not envy the oppressor, And choose none of his ways;
32 For the perverse person is an abomination to the LORD, But His secret counsel is with the upright.
33 The curse of the LORD is on the house of the wicked, But He blesses the home of the just.
34 Surely He scorns the scornful, But gives grace to the humble.
35 The wise shall inherit glory, But shame shall be the legacy of fools.

There is a clear message in this passage. WE MUST HAVE WISDOM!!! From verse 13 - 35 we see all the wonderful things that posessing wisdom does for our life. Wisdom is better than silver and gold. All things that you could ever want do not compare with Wisdom. Wisdom brings peace, happiness, understanding, knowledge, safety, sweet sleep, confidence and so much more!!! I WANT TO HAVE WISDOM! DON'T YOU??

This is incredible! Verses 5 and 6 are some of the most popular verses in the whole bible! Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understandings! In all your ways acknopwledge him and He shall direct your path!!!!

What a wonderful promise! I am seeking Gods will for my life and this passage is a CLEAR PROMISE, that if I will simply trust God with all my heart and do what he wants even when I don't understand it... then He will guide my path!!

Thanks you lord for that promise! I will trust you and you just guide me where you want me!

Verses 33 and 35 are both wonderful!

33. A Godly family will be blessed, and a wicked family will be cursed. What kind of actions do you have? Do your actions make your family more of a Godly fmaily, or a wicked family?
Why not be Godly... You can be the reason why your whole fmaily is blessed. Just like Joseph was in the Old Testament!!

35. What kind of Legacy do you want? I want a legacy of glory... not shame. Then I will strive for the wisdom talked abou tin this passage!!!!

Proverbs 2

1 My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee;
2 So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding;
3 Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding;
4 If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures;
5 Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God.
6 For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.
7 He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly.
8 He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints.
9 Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yea, every good path.
10 When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul;
11 Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee:
12 To deliver thee from the way of the evil man, from the man that speaketh froward things;
13 Who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness;
14 Who rejoice to do evil, and delight in the frowardness of the wicked;
15 Whose ways are crooked, and they froward in their paths:
16 To deliver thee from the strange woman, even from the stranger which flattereth with her words;
17 Which forsaketh the guide of her youth, and forgetteth the covenant of her God.
18 For her house inclineth unto death, and her paths unto the dead.
19 None that go unto her return again, neither take they hold of the paths of life.
20 That thou mayest walk in the way of good men, and keep the paths of the righteous.
21 For the upright shall dwell in the land, and the perfect shall remain in it.
22 But the wicked shall be cut off from the earth, and the transgressors shall be rooted out of it.
