Yesterday was such a great day! We left the church at about 6:20 and arrived at the park by 8:40am. We spent the entire day at the park and rode every ride that we wanted to, and almost every ride in the whole park. It was such a great day! It was not too busy and so we did not wait more than about 15 -20 minutes in a line all day long!! It was great! I hope that all of you remain faithful so that you will qualify for our next devotional trip! We will be doing one rather soon, so remain faithful!!!!

I will post the devotions after church today!

Genesis 37

1 Now Joseph had been taken down to Egypt. And Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh, captain of the guard, an Egyptian, bought him from the Ishmaelites who had taken him down there.
2 The LORD was with Joseph, and he was a successful man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian.
3 And his master saw that the LORD was with him and that the LORD made all he did to prosper in his hand.
4 So Joseph found favor in his sight, and served him. Then he made him overseer of his house, and all that he had he put under his authority.
5 So it was, from the time that he had made him overseer of his house and all that he had, that the LORD blessed the Egyptian’s house for Joseph’s sake; and the blessing of the LORD was on all that he had in the house and in the field.
6 Thus he left all that he had in Joseph’s hand, and he did not know what he had except for the bread which he ate.Now Joseph was handsome in form and appearance.
7 And it came to pass after these things that his master’s wife cast longing eyes on Joseph, and she said, “Lie with me.”
8 But he refused and said to his master’s wife, “Look, my master does not know what is with me in the house, and he has committed all that he has to my hand.
9 There is no one greater in this house than I, nor has he kept back anything from me but you, because you are his wife. How then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?”
10 So it was, as she spoke to Joseph day by day, that he did not heed her, to lie with her or to be with her.
11 But it happened about this time, when Joseph went into the house to do his work, and none of the men of the house was inside,
12 that she caught him by his garment, saying, “Lie with me.” But he left his garment in her hand, and fled and ran outside.
13 And so it was, when she saw that he had left his garment in her hand and fled outside,
14 that she called to the men of her house and spoke to them, saying, “See, he has brought in to us a Hebrew to mock us. He came in to me to lie with me, and I cried out with a loud voice.
15 And it happened, when he heard that I lifted my voice and cried out, that he left his garment with me, and fled and went outside.”
16 So she kept his garment with her until his master came home.
17 Then she spoke to him with words like these, saying, “The Hebrew servant whom you brought to us came in to me to mock me;
18 so it happened, as I lifted my voice and cried out, that he left his garment with me and fled outside.”
19 So it was, when his master heard the words which his wife spoke to him, saying, “Your servant did to me after this manner,” that his anger was aroused.
20 Then Joseph’s master took him and put him into the prison, a place where the king’s prisoners were confined. And he was there in the prison.
21 But the LORD was with Joseph and showed him mercy, and He gave him favor in the sight of the keeper of the prison.
22 And the keeper of the prison committed to Joseph’s hand all the prisoners who were in the prison; whatever they did there, it was his doing.
23 The keeper of the prison did not look into anything that was under Joseph’s authority,[a] because the LORD was with him; and whatever he did, the LORD made it prosper.

This story we all have heard at the Wilds millions of times this year, but there isn't any harm in hearing it again is there?
Anyway, in the beginning of the passage it starts out by saying that Joseph was prosperous. How? Continue reading and it says that he was prosperous because the Lord was with him. Wow! You may wonder if you are prosperous if you have a lot of money or not. Money has nothing to do with being prosperous. As long as you are right with God, you are already prosperous with your life.

Wow. This guy trusted Joseph with a lot! Even around his nasty piggy wife.
What i am thinking in the beginning of this passage, and also relating to what michael said, that it semms like JOSEPH is what made potiphars household so great, not vice versa.
Because the Lord was with Joseph, Joseph was blessed and was able to do great things, not because of Potiphar or anyone else and i think i can really learn from that too.
We shoudlnt depend on other people to bless us or make us sucessful, but trust God to do so if you follow his will.

Part 2;
Potiphars wife tempted Joseph EVERYDAY about sleeping with her! And he consistently resisited that sin! Sheeshh, i think its hard to resist little stupid sins everyday, yet Joesph shows how it IS possible, and you dont have to give in.

This stories show the faithfulness of not only Joseph, but also the faithfulness of the Lord. He entrusted Joseph with great things and he prospered under the hand of the Lord. Through his faith and continuous walk with God, even through temptation, he was able to accomplish great things. We are all faced with challenges daily, just as Joseph was and even though he went through hard times he did not lose faith, thus not losing God's touch in his life. It just goes to show us that as long as we are faithful and stay away from temptation God will always be with us, no matter how bad things seem.

HEY EVERYONE! I cannot even begin to tell you how much I miss home and miss coming to youth group and church. I am living on the USF campus in Tampa and I joined Campus Crusade for Christ. :] It really helps, it seems like everyone here is into all kinds of trouble. There are a lot of college students who claim to be atheist so I know that I need to be following my faith, now more than ever. Just like Joseph I have to take up my cross each day and be sure to continue to trust in the Lord.
I will be home this coming weekend!! Which means that I will be at church for sure. I miss you all!!

Rachel- Sorry I forgot my password! So I am going to have to figure that out. Hence why I posted as anonymous. :]

This passage shows what a Godly guy Joseph was. First of all when he was slod into slavary the master saw that God was with him. Wouldn't it be cool if people could just look at you and say God is with that guy/girl. Next Joseph is tempted by Potiphar's wife and he litteraly runs from temptation. He isn't just like "well I probably shouldn't" He is like "NO WAY LADY!" and runs away from her. We need to run from sin mabye not litteraly every time but definetly get as far from it as you can.

this starts out by joseph being brought to potiphar as a slave into his house and potiphar trusts joseph so much that he puts him in control of everything he owns. so probably years later, i am not sure, potiphar's wife asks joseph to lie with her but joseph says no so she grabs his coat and joseph runs away. then when potiphar got home potiphar's wife tells him what happened but the twisted way to make it look like joseph did something wrong. so potiphar was so mad at joseph that he had him put in prison. while in prison the prison keeper also trusted joseph so much that he actually gave him a job to see what everyone was doing and give a report on them. so we see that if we trust God and live for God, He will bless us just like He did to joseph. also we should resist temptations and flee from them just like joseph did. we need to be more like joseph.

i remember this is the passage we went over at the wilds!!

and btw... i just p0wnd in a team hardcore deathmatch in call of duty 4 on xbox live... :D

BUT MAN... WHAT FAITH!?!?!

joseph went through all that and then look what happens...

YOU BECOME THE LEADER OF AM EMPIRE!!!

see what faith does!

it says here that josephs hard work was noticed by his owner.. and then he let joseph become the leader of his house!!

and after that his wife tried to seduce him into an immoral relationship...

she said that he tried to take advantage of her and she got his coat.

so joseph goes to prison, and then he gets out and becomes paharos second-hand man!!

PEACE

We had So much fun that there is to many things to say! if you want to find out what kind of fun we had just DO YOUR DEVOTIONS!(.com) Ahh good times with the cotton candy glow stick! lol I need those pics pastor lee they are so kool!

So we see here that Joseph is blessed because the Lord is with him! Isnt that great that he is able to do great things through God, not because of the other people he was with! another thing is that Joseph was temped into sin everyday because Potiphars wife would try and get joseph to sleep with her, and then lied to potiphar about it saying it was the other way around! Joseph did good though and did not give in to the sin! bye for now!

It sounded like you guys had a lot of fun on Saturday. I wish that I could have gone with you guys but maybe next time.

This passage is about God letting Joseph now that God was with him during this ruff time in his life. As Joseph was going through this time, he kept hi sfaith in God and didnt give up on Him. Usually we give up or let go on God, if we are going through something difficult. He is always there for us even in really bad times. The Bible also says that He will never leave us nor forsake us!
