Hey Everyone! I need you to press on during these busy times. Especially my leaders! I need you to DO YOUR DEVOTIONS! That are crutial. I heard this yesterday: Ministry should just be an outflowing of your relationship with Christ. Well, if there is not a daily relationship with Christ then there is not alot of outflowing going on...

Think about that.

Genesis 43

1 Now the famine was severe in the land.
2 And it came to pass, when they had eaten up the grain which they had brought from Egypt, that their father said to them, “Go back, buy us a little food.”
3 But Judah spoke to him, saying, “The man solemnly warned us, saying, ‘You shall not see my face unless your brother is with you.’
4 If you send our brother with us, we will go down and buy you food.
5 But if you will not send him, we will not go down; for the man said to us, ‘You shall not see my face unless your brother is with you.’”
6 And Israel said, “Why did you deal so wrongfully with me as to tell the man whether you had still another brother?”
7 But they said, “The man asked us pointedly about ourselves and our family, saying, ‘Is your father still alive? Have you another brother?’ And we told him according to these words. Could we possibly have known that he would say, ‘Bring your brother down’?”
8 Then Judah said to Israel his father, “Send the lad with me, and we will arise and go, that we may live and not die, both we and you and also our little ones.
9 I myself will be surety for him; from my hand you shall require him. If I do not bring him back to you and set him before you, then let me bear the blame forever.
10 For if we had not lingered, surely by now we would have returned this second time.”
11 And their father Israel said to them, “If it must be so, then do this: Take some of the best fruits of the land in your vessels and carry down a present for the man—a little balm and a little honey, spices and myrrh, pistachio nuts and almonds.
12 Take double money in your hand, and take back in your hand the money that was returned in the mouth of your sacks; perhaps it was an oversight.
13 Take your brother also, and arise, go back to the man.
14 And may God Almighty give you mercy before the man, that he may release your other brother and Benjamin. If I am bereaved, I am bereaved!”
15 So the men took that present and Benjamin, and they took double money in their hand, and arose and went down to Egypt; and they stood before Joseph.
16 When Joseph saw Benjamin with them, he said to the steward of his house, “Take these men to my home, and slaughter an animal and make ready; for these men will dine with me at noon.”
17 Then the man did as Joseph ordered, and the man brought the men into Joseph’s house.
18 Now the men were afraid because they were brought into Joseph’s house; and they said, “It is because of the money, which was returned in our sacks the first time, that we are brought in, so that he may make a case against us and seize us, to take us as slaves with our donkeys.”
19 When they drew near to the steward of Joseph’s house, they talked with him at the door of the house,
20 and said, “O sir, we indeed came down the first time to buy food;
21 but it happened, when we came to the encampment, that we opened our sacks, and there, each man’s money was in the mouth of his sack, our money in full weight; so we have brought it back in our hand.
22 And we have brought down other money in our hands to buy food. We do not know who put our money in our sacks.”
23 But he said, “Peace be with you, do not be afraid. Your God and the God of your father has given you treasure in your sacks; I had your money.” Then he brought Simeon out to them.
24 So the man brought the men into Joseph’s house and gave them water, and they washed their feet; and he gave their donkeys feed.
25 Then they made the present ready for Joseph’s coming at noon, for they heard that they would eat bread there.
26 And when Joseph came home, they brought him the present which was in their hand into the house, and bowed down before him to the earth.
27 Then he asked them about their well-being, and said, “Is your father well, the old man of whom you spoke? Is he still alive?”
28 And they answered, “Your servant our father is in good health; he is still alive.” And they bowed their heads down and prostrated themselves.
29 Then he lifted his eyes and saw his brother Benjamin, his mother’s son, and said, “Is this your younger brother of whom you spoke to me?” And he said, “God be gracious to you, my son.”
30 Now his heart yearned for his brother; so Joseph made haste and sought somewhere to weep. And he went into his chamber and wept there.
31 Then he washed his face and came out; and he restrained himself, and said, “Serve the bread.”
32 So they set him a place by himself, and them by themselves, and the Egyptians who ate with him by themselves; because the Egyptians could not eat food with the Hebrews, for that is an abomination to the Egyptians.
33 And they sat before him, the firstborn according to his birthright and the youngest according to his youth; and the men looked in astonishment at one another.
34 Then he took servings to them from before him, but Benjamin’s serving was five times as much as any of theirs. So they drank and were merry with him.

Well, I think it is kind of werid that the brothers went home and stayed there leaving their brother in prison until they ran out of food again. Well, the time had come to go get more food, and when they went they took Benjamin with them.

Joseph was so emotional about the whole situation because Benjamin was his real brother. Benjamin was the son that was born when their mother died.

Well, I think it is wonderful how Joseph is serving his brothers after all that they had done to him. If I were in his shoes, I would have to admit that I would have been waiting for an opportunity like this to get revenge on my brothers! Well, Joseph was not looking for revenge. He simply wanted to be Godly. Joseph forgave his cruel brothers and in fact he served them. When was the last time that you served someone that treated you horribly? Well, we should follow the example of Joseph, and forgive and serve those who hurt us.

I think it is amazing that Joseph forgave his brothers so easily. I probably would have forgave them, just, not right away. Joseph's faithfulness finally paid off. He sees Benjamin, who he loves, his decietful brothers, who he loves, and he is the ruler of Egypt(excluding Pharoah). What else could go Joseph's way? Maybe he could be one of the two witnesses prophesized in Revalation!

Joseph does what every christian is supposed to do. Forgive those who sin against us and treat others as God would treat them. It is certainly hard to be kind to someone who has sinned against, especially when it is a personal attack. Joseph's brothers were especially horrible to him. He was not concerned with what they had done to him, he took it with a grain of salt and was kind to his brothers. This is so amazing. It makes me remember that I must be kind those who have sinned against me. If I can not forgive others then God surely can not forgive me.

well this starts out by josephs brothers and family finishing the food that they brought home but they needed more and this whole time one of his brothers was in prison. joseph said for them not to come back if they don't bring their younger brother because he wouldn't give them food if they didn't listen. so they did and they told joseph about the extra money that ended up in their sacks of food. so joseph told them to go into one of his rooms (i think it was the lunch room or something along those lines) and they thought they were going to end up being slaves, but joseph just fed them and blessed them. wow after being thrown into a hole to die and being sold as a slave and then being put into prison for a long time, he still blessed and took care of his brothers. so we need to forgive people that we think have wronged us even though it may be really hard but joseph forgave his brothers after all that happened to him.

It has happen, even today, when one of my siblings treated me horribly! I didn’t do anything mean back, but I did think wrong things about her. Joseph didn’t even do that! Wow, he completely forgave his brothers! He makes it look so easy, and really it is if we can get over our pride. Forgiving people and not being bitter, that’s something I need to work on.

Aw darn, i thought todays passage was going to be the happy ending.
im bad with details.

So Joseph looks amazing once again, this time for forgiveness he has displayed towards his awful brothers.
Well, let me just tell you, if i were Joseph and had people who were trying to kill me and do all of those awful things his brothers did to him, i doubt id be half as quick to forgive as he was.
Think of where id be without Gods forgiveness... and my sin REALLY put Him to death!
If it werent for the forgivness ive been given, i would be nothing, so theres no doubt that in other situations like Josephs, and even ours, that forgiveness is crucial.
I should not let the sun go down on my anger! i should forgive while i have time to forgive, to show Godliness and respect for people as well as to keep myself a grudge-free and soft hearted for God to work on.

THis story teaches us a good lesson about forgivness.Joseph shows that forgivness is a way of pleasing God, just like he forgave his brothers. I mean his brothers hated him.

I think that if my siblings treated me like that i would not only hate them, but i would be afraid of them! But thats just human nature. We can learn that forgivness solves problems not hatred!

IM excited im coming to the movie thing tomorrow!!!

yo yo yo just got home like an hour ago! so i left my house at 6:40 a.m. and got home at 11:10 p.m. thats 16 hours and 30 minutes. school and work can be so hard sometimes, I'm just glad its the weekend. So onward to the devotions.

Awww how sweet, after all this time joeseph is still not angry and he is being loving to his brothers that have wronged him. So like I guess joey likes benjamin a lot compared to the others. well seing how ben was the only one to not throw joey in the well he would be my favorite too. Anyways boys and girls what you can learn from todays story is that just like joey, you too need to be forgiving and loving to your siblings. You can even go beyond that and say your friends, or your neighbors, and while I'm at it stop looking at porn, obey your mother and father, stop picking on,little kids, and for your mother's sanity pass your math test this week please. F.Y.I. those last four things had nothing to do with the passage I just thought it needed to be said.

Wow! I love this story in the Bible about Joseph forgiving his brothers for all the bad things that they did to him. WOW! I wouldnt be able to forgive someone like that!!! That would be so hard for me to do. This story is a great example of forgivness and how we should forgive someone, whatever the situation.
