Hey everyone! I have so many cool things to tell you about! I am very excited about tonights service. We will be announcing the reward trip qualifies, we will be having a guest speaker, and we are going to be giving all of you your last minute information about the campout. Make sure you are in youth group tonight! We are going to have a great time!

A Few Thoughts From Yesterday:
Alex: That is funny that you called it CSI research, I thought the same things yesterday morning!
Jessica B: That was a great illustration with the new computer and only using one part of it!
Phil: You are hilarious man! It was 11:00 when you did your devotions! That is not early. You are right at that rate you are going to have to buy yourself a prize! :) I like the "chicken soup for the soul" part! Thanks for being faithful!!
Rachel and Ryan: We will miss you both dearly tonight! Have fun at Bush Gardens!
Cary: What is up with that?? You went on just to tell me that and then didnt even do the devotions?!?!
Jessica M: It doesnt look like you are going to qualify... sorry! :)

John 6:28- 40
28 Then they said to Him, “What shall we do, that we may work the works of God?”
29 Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent.”
30 Therefore they said to Him, “What sign will You perform then, that we may see it and believe You? What work will You do?
31 Our fathers ate the manna in the desert; as it is written, ‘He gave them bread from heaven to eat.’”
32 Then Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, Moses did not give you the bread from heaven, but My Father gives you the true bread from heaven.
33 For the bread of God is He who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.”
34 Then they said to Him, “Lord, give us this bread always.”
35 And Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.
36 But I said to you that you have seen Me and yet do not believe.
37 All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out.
38 For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me.
39 This is the will of the Father who sent Me, that of all He has given Me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up at the last day.
40 And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day.”

This is a little bit of a longer passage today, but I really think you can pull some great stuff out of it! So Jesus is still talking to those guys that have been searching for Him. You could almost say these guys were stalking Jesus. The fact is that Jesus wants us to follow Him and search for Him. But He wants us to follow Him with a believing heart, not a skeptical heart.

The men in this story clearly are not sure if they believe what Jesus is saying to be true or not. That is why Christ makes a point to tell them, that God's will is that they would believe in Him (Jesus Christ) and have eternal life.

There are many skeptical people around today. People that claim there is no God, people who claim that Jesus Christ wasn't God, but today Jesus still explains to us through His word that we MUST BELIEVE in Him to have eternal life.

Now, most of you are saved already, so I am going to jump to another application of this passage.

We as Christians "believe in Jesus" but many times we believe in Him for salvation and not much else. We will ask Him to get us to Heaven, but when it comes to living Holy lives, seperate from sin, we decide to go our own way on that.

These men were the same way... They chose to believe what they wanted: That is why in verse 30 they say... we will believe if you show us a miracle. When I read that It set me back. The truth is that they had already seen some amazing miracles... yet the still did not believe. We are the same way. We see over and over how sin hurts us and how Jesus heals and protects us, yet we say with our actions: I will believe if you show me your greatness one more time... I will believe if you forgive me "this time".

Lets not be like these skeptical stalkers... Lets Believe! Not only for our salvation; but in every aspect of our life... Lets believe and obey God with our dating life, with our money, with our family, with our friendships, WITH EVERYTHING!

Plus: I think it is Great that Jesus explains that He has come to "do the will of His father". If Jesus came to earth to obey His father, maybe we should obey our father: both our earthly father and our heavenly father!

Stay faithful!

So these guys are pretty much stalking jesus like john on miley cyrus (just kidding), but they ask what god wants them to do and jesus says just to believe in him. So these people with an I.Q. of propably 3, if that much, says what shall you do so that we may believe you. Can people really get this ignorant and stubborn in their faith that when they are looking jesus straight in the face that it is even possible that they still don't believe. What they say to jesus the duhhhh what are you gonna do so we may believe you even though you have done many miracles already since we are just to dumb to pay attention since our I.Q. is just 3. If I were in jesus' position and if i had shotgun i definately would not be able to control myself and propably shoot them since they are just so dense and retarted. So i guess what you could pull out of this is to pay attention when god is calling you, and to read your bible so you may know more about him so you don't have to be as retarted as the people I now deem as the people of an I.Q. of 3.

Ok, so I can hardly focus on this today because: there is an electrician drilling in the walls, I only got 7 hours of sleep (I need about 9 or 10 to function properly), and I have a headache. :/

Yeah, we should definitely believe in God in every aspect of our lives. When we try to go our own way, we don't get to far. Without God, we're nothing. Like egg less egg salad (I was at this healthy store before and they sold that. I don't know what they were thinking. It was ridiculous.) I can't believe that after those people saw all the miracles that Jesus did, they still didn't believe! If I saw those things then I wouldn't be questioning whether to believe in Him or not.

hey thanks pastor lee!

okay so in these verses jesus is basically saying that what he has provided for them was provided to him by god (or the one who sent him)

see you later!!!

FoOtBaLl XtReMiSt (cary) said...

so basically these people are all like oh wow were so hungry uhhh were dying... then moses calls to god to send mana from heaven... and at the same time jesus talks about the bread of life. he tells them that if they take the bread of life and drink the water they will never be hungry or thirst again. (spiritually)

Hah kacey what a post you poor thing only getting 7 hours of sleep lol. For the past week and a half its been 12 hour days of rehearsal and about 7 hours asleep a night pft can't concentrate lol. And eggless salad lol anyway so yea many times we try to look for miracles to justify beliefs or we see skeptics who say why doesn't he do miracles today. The fact is thaty believing is seperate from knowing and that all of creation testifies to gods glory that's all I need. Sometimes a hear a piece of music so beautiful or look around at nature and the fact that the world is so beautiful is enough for me because nothing short of perfection and a father god could have done it. So we had a concerty last night and we played ave maria( if you all don't know its a dual choral piece latin for hail mary like the prayer) and the music shell was vibrating at the last release and that I think is what I do this for I think when we play music like that god smiles upon us. So that's sort of what keeps me going the product of beauty will be by me for god. Alright cool love you all peace

wow that was a lot of reading!!!
So I guess a lot of times like pastor lee said if you show me a miracle 1 more time I'll believe. and after that we do the same thing over again! and Jesus says that we shouldn't believe on him that one time but we should live for him and witness about him to every one you know!

Pastor Lee, I don't know if I'm coming tonight, i will try my best!

see y'all tonight(hopefully)

GOOD 1 JOSH!!!(John)

i like this passage cuz it shows what ppl r still like even 2day...they're stubborn & only believe in what they SEE...& it seems 2 b "this time" EVERYTIME!!!
They've seen MANY MANY MANY things he can do & basically just refuse 2 believe!!!

Ppl 2day still look 4 miricals before they can justify their beliefs...but u cant really do that...it's about having faith & believeing!

I can see how THEN they may've been a bit skeptical AT FIRST(not after the zillions of miricals)cuz i mean he's THE MESSIAH!It was profasized he'd come so i can see that(at FIRST)

But NOW!!!We HAVE the truth AT OUR GRASP IN PAPER/HARD BACK!!!We know its true...its GOTTA be...it doesnt contradict itself&i think it was the only religion u could trace back2it's roots...The whole worwld basically knows OF it...& ALOT of ppl h8 it, & i realized what ppl seems 2b true -lol-

but yeah...lost my train of thought=[My deviled eggs r done(DELICIOUS if i may so so=])&puppy's fightin w/the other cat...

we just gotta believe& don't rely on miricals 2 justify our faith...
********************************************************************************************************************************************

btw u guys i think puppy's gonna b havin kittens(she's gettin a bit chunky & won't let no1 NEAR her tummy)

she's an amazing cat...the kittens will most likely black/grey tiger print, orange&white tiger print, solid white, black, or orange...her mom was a calico& daddy a black/grey tiger...& if she IS prego the dad is my neighbors cat(who's just like her daddy...neighbors cat is BOB...-lol-)he's strong & really well built& a great hunter(u should see him he's a BEAST!!!)

so yeah...if ur lucky the kittens will act like puppy's 2=]so i'll keep ya posted &if ya want 1 let me know(b sure its ok w/ur rents)

LATER TATERS!!!

nice one panda haha that was great and congrats brooke and lucy... you slacker you better come haha wel anyways don't even try to beat me tomorrow i'm gonna be first cause it's my birthday and I deserve it MUAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! MUY CALIENTE! wel so yeah if your baby has kittens brooke take pictures puppy is cute so the kittens will be extra..... cute? yeah that's the word

so basically they said ohhhhhh how do we become true christians and whatnot and then Jesus said just believe in the facts: a. Jesus is God's son and was sent by him and b. (maybe) and to believe that he did the right thing
and they said well what're ya gonna do to prove yourself? then they say oh our dad's ate a bread thing from heaven that they got from God in the deserts then Jesus is all like pssh Moses didn't give you the bread from heaven, My Father did and it is the bread of life (and I think I vaguely remember that one day we were talking about a verse [not on here I don't think] that said Jesus is the bread of life, eat that you may be happy or content or something but I know we talked about it a few times or wouldn't remember) and then he says the bread of life (a.k.a. Jesus) which comes from heaven is he whom gives life to the world then they take a step of faith or whatever the metaphor is that i'm looking for and they say Lord please let us eat the bread (a.k.a. Jesus) and be happy forever Jesus is then saying yeah i'm the bread of life (a.k.a. Jesus [which he pretty much just said] ) whoever comes to me will not hunger or thirst (for soul food) and he then says you all have seen what I do but still don't believe (weirdos) and the ones that come to me I will surely not (oh i can't think of the word) cast away because I came to heaven to do His will not mine and and this is what he wants: that everything he's givne me I shall not lose a thing of but i will give it all to him (or take it to heaven i can't tell) the last day of my life and he also wants all the people that believe in me who he has sent to have eternal life and I'll bring them to heaven the last day

yeah I think this is an awesome passage (JUST LIKE EVERY OTHER ONE!!) and even though i've only done my devotions a few times or w/e, I looove them it gives me something to do haha

Im excited for youth group tonite its my favorite part of the week!

So these jewish people are kinda annoying jesus must have alot of patience...anyways they want to know what they can do to be like jesus and he tells them that they should seek the bread of life (which is him) and he says that they need to believe in him not because of the miricales that he performs but because they have faith in him...jesus tellss them that if they believe in him they will have everlasting life and will be saved.

App: i think this is cool because jesus is explaining even b4 his death that he is the son of god and he was sent here to save the world because it was the will oif his father. I think this is cool picture of god's love for us that he would sacrifice his son and it was his WILL to do it.

Wow josh's blogs are so wierd and if anyone had an I.Q. of 3 they would be brain dead.

these people asked Jesus how to do the work of God and he said just by believing in me and who sent me. Jesus then says God has sent bread from heaven which is me and I am the bread of life. So Jesus being the bread of life we need to nurish our bodies with Jesus by doing his work and reading his word. He said that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day.”
This means that if you believe that he came to die for you and for your sins that he will give you everlasting life and will riase you up meaning take you to heaven at the rapture.

your endings! wow! this devotion is great that God gave us the true bread from heaven (Bible of course)the true bread gives light and life to the world.we need to beleive with everything we have.

I believe that these passages point out how crucial it is for us to actually have faith by proving it, rather than asking for proof. That's one of the biggest areas of the Bible that people don't really see eye to eye with. God wants us to TRUST in him with everything we do, he wants to be there for us, and lift us up at the end, but he wants us to do it because we WANT to, not because we will get some reward or because we need this done or that done.

Or we can look at this another way, if we treated all our relationships, with friends, parents, wives/husbands, girlfriends/boyfriends, mentors/guardians etc.. Like we should be having a relationship with Jesus, everyones life would be superiorly improved greatly. Because Love is a choice, and choosing to believe in something without requiring all this, or 'tic for tac' to get something done with some kind of if you loved me you would do this if I do that. That is kind of demeaning to God, and Love and everyone. But if you just show unconditional faith and love as it is meant to be, as Jesus loved us, and as God loved Jesus and us, then we would surely be living like Jesus in the aspect that we will love our neighbor as we love ourselves, and we would love Jesus as we should and trust in him and God without having to have proof furnished to us day by day. And if we take the time to enjoy the precious gifts of God, like our own lives and the lives of our friends and families, and our Church we would surely find that no matter what we are going through gifts are furnished to us daily. No matter how much we take it for granted, our friends and our loved ones are still there. And if we didn't take it all for granted we would be even more blessed. :)

At least that's how I feel when it comes to 'showing faith and love' without having to say "I WANT PROOF" all the time, like all these people who followed Jesus around saying, show us then we will follow, rather than just trusting and being patient and learning as things happened. :)

FIRST OF ALL I AM NOT HAPPY ABOUT WHAT JOSH SAID ABOUT ME AND MILEY AND MILEY IS MAD TWO SHE SAID SHE IS GOING TO RIGHT A BAD SONG ABOUT YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ok so on to the devos these people are asking Jesus to a miracle for them so thay they will beleve and thats like cmon guys you have seen all these things that Jesus has done and you still dont beleve thats like me killing JOSH LAPERRIERE and bringing him back to life and Rachel sees it but then sees says i dont beleve that you did that WELL YOU JUST SAW WHAT ARE YOU STUPID Rachel your not really stupid and this verse This is the will of the Father who sent Me, that of all He has given Me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up at the last day is when Jesus died on the cross which hadnt happend yet and thats when God will be lifted up.
P.S.I AM SO EXCITED ABOUT THE CAMING TRIP TOMARROW!!!!!!!!!!!:-)

this is saying that the people that followed Jesus over the river were still following Him and weren't shure if everything He was saying was true, so they say if you do a miracle then we will believe you. then the people go on to say that our fathers ate manna in the desert and it was from heaven and Jesus says that He is the true bread and the water that if people come to Him then they will never hunger or thirst (spiritually). He also says that He came down to earth to do God's will not His will, and finally He says that anyone that believes in Him will have everlasting life. so we need to believe in God for who He is and be thankful for what He has done in our lives and not just believe in Him for the miricles He has shown us.

Don't qualify for the trip, huh? hahahaha nice try Pastor Lee!!!!

These men are basically still in the dark about the way to Heaven. They probably felt that they were on the wrong road. Or that something was required of them, but what that something was they had no idea! Jesus told these dudes that the one thing that God requires of sinners is that they believe on the One who was sent into the world to meet their needs. Then we see that humans had rather do than "believe." And why is this? Because it all comes down to their pride.
All that asks of us is to give up your own doings and receive HIM and HIM alone. But are we ready to do this? Are we willing to give up or put side our own doings, and to accept HIS? But you will not be able to until you give EVERYTHING to Christ and like Pastor Lee always says and become completely sold out!

THANKS JON.
you pick the guy who OFFENDS you and the girl who ALWAYS looks like an airhead?
pffft.
im so glad in the first "stupid" person to come to mind.
okay well anyways busch gardens was soo much fun if anyone wants to know. ryan and i got these big honkin supposedly 765416234 million years old sharks teeth and im attepting to make necklaces out of them at the moment. but theyre really sharp. so idk if its a good idea. but ill try anyways cause theyd look pretty sweet as necklaces.
:]
k, so, noone cares lol but i just thought id share.
im really tired so if i dont sound all here, im trying, sorry.
kay so,
I see here people asking Jesus, pretty obliviously, "How are we supposed to do the works of God?"
and he replies "Well you kinda just haveto believe in me and fulfill Gods purpose for me so im not a waste to the people im trying to save."
So they are still pretty oblivious and ask Him what He is going to do to pursuade them into believing whats right in their faces.
idk bout you, but if i was Jesus i wouldve said "Uhm, you dont get it, im wasting my time."
But i guess Jesus was pretty patient because He explains what He is offering through their belief and so much more but also says "But then again, im right here, im the gift, im this saving grace, hello? im pretty mucha just asking your permission to save your soul."
Once again, people were seeking Jesus for the wrong reasons and looking to question Him, whenthe point was to do the opposite.
God wanted the people to believe in Jesus through faith and these people obviously did not. He gave them so much reason to believe and they did not.
Applying this is a little different for me but i view it as "THIS IS WHAT NOT TO DO"
You may think now;
"well gosh there was a lot of proof! what was their deal!?" but truthfully we can sometimes ourselves think that we need proof for our faith; the whole point of it being called "your faith" is because thats its composure; faith and trust alone in the God thats really going to save you.

wow the whole time i was reading what pastor lee wrote all i coult think about is my friends parents . . . . they are both christians and he has been with out a job for a few months and shes out on dissability so they are having a really hard tome getting through but they are making it because they are trusting God with everything they have and he has not once not provided their needs i could go on and on about stuff god has done for then in just the past week its amazing so i know that He will provide and get us through but we cant leave it all up to him we have to trust and ask him for the help and hell give it to us =]

They were blind as bats, they're starting to annoy me. Jesus did all these miracles right in front of them and yet they ask for one more before they believe.

Jesus was here to do the will of the Father. All the people had to do was believe in Jesus and His miracles and that He was the Son of God.
