Today is Fathers Day! Make sure to tell your Dad Happy Fathers Day!

I hope you made it to church this morning! It was a great day!

For today's devotions why dont you post one of two things:

1. Comment about what you learned in the Sunday School lesson today.

2. Comment about what you learned from the message in church today.

I really enjoyed pastor Chip's message today. The part that really spoke out to me when when he said that we need to trust Jesus just like Jarius trusted Him. We need to trust that his plan for purity is best, we need to trust Christ that his plan for our money is best, we need to trust Christ that his plan for respecting our parents is best.

There are so many reasons why we must trust God.

When I fail to trust God, that is when I go my own way and often lose control. If Jarius would have failed to trust God then his daughter would not have come back to life...

See how much God blesses when we TRUST HIS PLAN FOR OUR LIFE!!!

What did you learn today?

i agree w/what u said pastor lee...What God has in store for is is what's best 4us...

I'm the same way PL...when i fail2trust God i tend 2 go my own way & go TOTALLY outta control...it's a good thing Jarius didn't fail2trust in Christ...

i wish i coulda been there...my feet hurt alot & i was helpin my mom cook breakfast4 my daddy...he just got home a lil while ago which was the MAIN reason i didn't come...

well i was in sunday school and it was amazing i think this morning talked about sin and how we need to correct our sin before we go and correct some one else pastor lee showed us if he and i were blind and he tried to fix my vision before he fixed his so we learned to not correct any body elses sin before we correct ours so when we a log in our eyes the have a stick or something like that that apllies to me so much just because i try correcting people before i correct myself

sorry that i wasn't here for sunday school i mean i was here at my house but not at church i couldn't wake up..... and HAPPY FATHER'S DAY PASTOR LEE

today in pastor chip's message i liked how he said that not only did jairus trust jesus and had been humble to him, he still was like this after his daughter died because jesus had stopped walking but since he was, jesus said tahtilacumi and he had brought jairus' daughter back to life

]I believe that we all DO need to trust in jesus because what he has is what's best and you'll do it if you know whats best for you

yeah that's a pretty good message and i actually listened (even though i usually do) outback was pretty awesome too if you go there, get the outback special (it's a steak) and I suggest the 9 oz. because it's hard to finish... and haha i think it's kinda funny that sandefur said that he thinks that sunday school was about sin and self correction before interpersonal correction and i don't think it made a whole lot of sense what he said but i think I got the jist of it

TO ALL THE FATHERS IN THE WORLD: HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!!!!!!

happy father day God! lol wow but the camping trip was so fun I wish more teens would have went so you could here their stories about alligators and it raining all night:(! It was definetly worth the trouble and the money I hope you can do another one pastor lee!

Today in sunday school you talked about how we must not judge others because its wrong to tell someone about doing wrong in their life when your just the same. You said that we musnt worry about the splinter in your friends eye when we have a log in our own and thats saying that we should take care of our own problems before we help others with theirs. yeah so dont be a hypocrite please! you wouldnt do eye surgery on your blind friend if you were blind would you so think abut it and dont judge others in a bad way

sunday school was good this morning and very applicable to me.
A lotof times i see people doing things and think to myself what in the world and judge them in my mind when i have no right.
Since all sins are equal and forgiven the same, there is really only one tiny difference between what they are doing and what i have done.
We cannot correct people if we need correction ourselves!
Its kind of like a 'take your own advice' type of thing. Think about your own faults and deal with them instead of taking advantage of otherss. The final judge deals perfect equality and seeing as we do not have that say, we shouldnt attempt to take it on ourselves.

ok...so i came back2check out what others said about today so hopefully i could learn somethin...

so from what ive read is that u shouldn't b hypricritical(idk if i spelled that right)

When uve got things 2 fix in ur own life u MUST fix them b4 u judge/help sum1 else...

i think that analogy of the splinter in ur friends eye & the log in ur own is AMAZING & i c how that applies...the splinter isnt as bad as a LOG, u gotta take care of ur own sins/problems b4 u help out ur friend...

i also like the bein blind & doin surgery on ur friends eye...not so smart...i try2live life by the whole "take ur own advice"as rachel mentioned...

i think y ppl sumtimes try2help others b4themselves is cuz its easier 2focus on sum1else than urself...cuz u realize uve got sumthin wrong in ur life &u gotta deal w/it...when its sum1else...its not ur life that the problems lies in...

1of the first things i thought of w/the hypocracy was relationships...ya know, cuz ppl r always tryin2help others out relationship wise...& ive noticed their relationships/love life isnt doin so well either...

so then i thought about our relationship w/Christ...how can we help others build/understand Christ & the importance of a GOOD relationship w/him if u DONT have a good 1urself!?So i thought we need 2 fix ourselves w/Christ(admit our sins etc) b4 we can tell others what/how 2 build/fix 1 w/him...u cant teach what u don't know...ya know???

well looky there i wasnt even there & i got ALOT out of this...

APPLICATION:fix myself b4 i help others=] =] =] =] =] =] =] =] =]

I really enjoyed Pastor Chip's message this morning. Pastor Chip was preaching about Jarius, and I began thinking about how amazing Jesus Christ really is. Jarius was just a man- he wasn't a king or a priest- nothing really exciting. Even still, Jesus Christ cared about him and saw that his faith was so real that He healed his daughter. Pastor was talking about how the people scorned Him when He said the little girl was just sleeping. Think about that- scorning Jesus Christ! I know if people say bad things about me, the last thing I want to do is help someone else. Even though they were scorning the Son of God, He didn't show any pride. He raised the little girl, and showed His amazing power. We have an awesome God!!!

Don't judge people and stop looking for the faults in others and trying to correct them when we have faults we need to correct ourselves.
