Don't forget to come to church tomorrow!

12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.
13 The LORD looketh from heaven; he beholdeth all the sons of men.
14 From the place of his habitation he looketh upon all the inhabitants of the earth.
15 He fashioneth their hearts alike; he considereth all their works.
16 There is no king saved by the multitude of an host: a mighty man is not delivered by much strength.
17 An horse is a vain thing for safety: neither shall he deliver any by his great strength.
18 Behold, the eye of the LORD is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy;
19 To deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine.
20 Our soul waiteth for the LORD: he is our help and our shield.
21 For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name.
22 Let thy mercy, O LORD, be upon us, according as we hope in thee.

Verse 12 really caught my attention. It is tell9ing us a nation that serves Him will be blessed. Now, do you think the U.S.A. is a nation under God? That is a good question and thought about this for a while, and I came to a conclusion that we are. I say this because this nation is the biggest nation with more churches than any other nation, we produce a myriad of missionaries to the rest of the world to hear the gospel, and we praise God here than anywhere else. I want you guys to give your opinion on if our nation is under God or not. Go ahead and elaborate...... you want to, I know it!

This passage is saying that when we as a nation follow God's word, we will be blessed and, verse 21, our hearts will rejoice in him because we have trust in his holy name and words. Sometimes, the people of some nations will think that they need to follow ever single thing that their president or leader of that nation does, but that is not true-the one thing that ALL nations need is God and to follow his words:) I agree with what Michael said, the USA is a nation under God because we have so many Missionaries who want to reach out to the rest of the world. If Missionaries, and all of those following God's grace, help spred the word of God to other nations-just think-the whole entire world would be blessed by his words! I think that would be amazing:)

the verse I liked was the beginning of verse 20-Our soul waiteth for the LORD-that is so true if we are saved because we can't wait until Jesus comes back to earth so we can go to heaven with Hima and worship Him. also on what Michael said, we were created as a Christian nation and no one can take that away from us. so yes I do believe we are a Christian nation and everthing you said definitely supports that we are a Christian nation.

Yea I thought verse 12 is great too. America has prospered for so long and was blessed because we had made our founding principles based on the bible or judeo-christian principles. The farther we get from his word the more God will begin to lift his protection from us.
Statistically speaking America has less Christians as of 2001 then Africa, Central and South America and even Asia. (Their population is ridiculous)
As for churches I'm not sure I do know, however that church attendance in America(attending one or more times a week) is 44 percent while Nigeria is 89 and Ireland is at 88. I dont know what this boils down to when you take into consideration population density or gross population but I think America needs to be wary about how headstrong we get an watch the arrogance level lest we fall as Babylon did.
ooooooohhhh foreboding isn't it?
