Hey guys! Great Job on the devos Wednesday! Michael, I am glad that you thought of just having them go back and repeat the day that they missed! Smart thinking!

Psalm 33

1 Rejoice in the LORD, O ye righteous: for praise is comely for the upright.
2 Praise the LORD with harp: sing unto him with the psaltery and an instrument of ten strings.
3 Sing unto him a new song; play skilfully with a loud noise.
 4 For the word of the LORD is right; and all his works are done in truth.
 5 He loveth righteousness and judgment: the earth is full of the goodness of the LORD.
6 By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.
 7 He gathereth the waters of the sea together as an heap: he layeth up the depth in storehouses.
8 Let all the earth fear the LORD: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him.
 9 For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast.
 10 The LORD bringeth the counsel of the heathen to nought: he maketh the devices of the people of none effect.
 11 The counsel of the LORD standeth for ever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations.

3 Major thoughts come to my attention in this passage:

First we are to REJOICE IN THE LORD!!! When was the last time that you rejoiced in the Lord? When was the last time that you thanked God for being so wonderful! Our hearts should be full of Joy because we have so much to rejoice about!!

Second: I love how it says that we are to worship God with singing and by playing skillfully... Several of you guys play instruments and you know exactly what it is like to play with Skill... Well, God wants us to play for Him and He wants us not to just play carelessly, instead we are to play with skill... put it this way: When we play with skill we make our creator look even better!! (We give him the glory that He deserves!!)

Finally: I love verse 11... the counsel of the Lord standeth forever! It will never fail! It will never cahnge, IT WILL NEVER NEED TO BE UPDATED!!!

Gods word is always truth and always accurate and always relevant!!

That is why it is so important to be in Gods word every day!!

I agree with what Pastor Lee said, I absolutely love how we can worship God by music and so many other ways! Verses 2-3 I really like. I know I wanted to worship and praise God more by playing clarinet on Sunday services,- it's fun:) but we can also worship him by singing out our prayers to him.
I remember in Psalm 28 verse 7 it says, "And with my song, I will praise him," it reminded me alot of this passage. Verse 3 says that we sing unto him a new song- so you don't even have to know the first thing about music to worship God, just stand up and sing with your heart. God would love that for us. We also need to remember that when we rejoice, our hearts will be filled with the joy that God has given us. God's words are pure truth so we need to follow and praise his words. Vers 5 is saying that the earth is full of the goodness of the Lord and he is our compass. Have you ever thought about how else you can praise him more? Well Remember: we as Christians can help bring God's word out to those who need to find it-especially by praise/music:) We can even use artwork/paintings, introduce a friend to the Bible, anything to help spread God's grace to others:)

Serving God with everything you have is defenetly hinted in this chapter! Musical instruments also count! If you combine that and verse 11 then you get a body of believers that never fail, and plays music like there is no tomorrow! That would be sick!

I like verse 11 where it says-The councel of the LORD standeth forever-meaning they will always be there for us and never fail us like PL said. I also like when PL said "It will never need to be updated". that is why everything in the Bible is relavent to us today because it never changes from generation to generation it just stays the same reaching out to everyone from every generation. the chapter also says that we should praise the LORD with everthing we have. we need to praise the Lord and get in His Word (the Bible) because He will never fail us.

Basically---praise, worship, love the Lord! Everything in the world should just be amazed by the wonders and works of the Lord, because, frankly, He's just that good. He gave Moses the strenght to part waters! When He spoke, everything listened. What God says goes, pretty much. lol. Those that play instruments, we should play our absolute best to give the Lord the best skill and sound we can possibly give Him to thank Him for what He has done for us :)
