Hey Guys! Great job on the devotions yesterday! Those were some great thoughts that you guys put down. Keep it up!
I Peter 3
1 Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives;
2 While they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear.
3 Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel;
4 But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.
5 For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands:
6 Even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any amazement.
7 Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.
8 Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous:
9 Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.
10 For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:
11 Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.
This is a pretty clear passage... Wives... submit to your husband, respect him and love Him... Why? Well first of all, because God says too... second, (I love this part) so that if He is not saved, the wife can be a testimony to her husband and lead Him to the Lord. That is what verse 1 says and that is some powerful stuff!
Verse 3 and 4 explain to girls, dont be absolutely consumed about what you put on the outside of your body, like makeup and jewelry, but instead BE CONCERNED ABOUT WHAT GOES INSIDE YOUR BODY, what is your heart like? That is the most important part!
Verse 7 is pretty clear about how the husband should treat his wife... He must show her Honor and respect!! The Bible explains that generally the wife is weaker so the husband must nurture, and take care of her, comfort her and guide her... This does not give the idea of a master guiding his animal!! It gives the idea of a friend comforting and leading another friend!! Many husbands treat their wife like garbage with both their words and their actions, but this passage makes it clear that both the Husband and the Wife are supposed to love, and RESPECT ONE ANOTHER!!
Well... you teenagers may be sitting there saying: I am not married yet?? What does this have to do with me?!?!?! Well, there are two things... FIRST! LEARN THIS NOW AND IT WILL HELP YOUR MARRIAGE SOMEDAY!!
SECOND: IF YOU TREAT THE GIRL OR GUY OF YOUR DREAMS WITH THIS KIND OF LOVE AND RESPECT... IT MIGHT JUST HELP YOU GET THEIR ATTENTION!!

I read this this morning and prayed on it and although I'm not married it still applies. Have you ever studied for a test like a half hour in advance or even tried to learn material after its been taught. Right well what would happen if we all studied like 4 or 5 years in advance and kept principles in our heart. We'd probably do a lot better on that test. Well marriage is a test, relationships are a test and the kind of things Peter talks about here are invaluable. I've come to realize after many failed relationships that God has not yet readied me for something as precious as love. Although I may have done some right things in previous relationships I havent found a woman who loves the Lord with all her heart. I know with these ideals in mind I will continue to grow and when I am ready and the love of my life is ready then God will send me an angel. Anywho aside from the relationship aspect here in verses 9-11 Peter talks about blessing enemies and enjoying life while keeping evil from your tongue and just as Christ had no guile from his mouth nor should we.
Today is a beautiful day isn't it?
This may seem embarrasing to me a little, but my mom is teaching me how to be the best husband ever when I grow up. We will look at my step dad's actions toward her, and my mom will say either, "that is how you treat your wife," or, "don't be a stupid man when you grow up, Michael." I take her advice, but I just don't like it when she streotypes men for not having common sense. Even though its true, she doesn't have to say it to the world. Her advice is contrary to the bible, so that is why I take her advice, even if i'm sorta in a bad mood.
this is mainly about women submitting to their husbands and the husbands treating their wives with respect and not like garbage. that has gone completely backwards in our society today because we always hear about the man beating up the women or doing bad things to her (like chris brown beating up rhianna this week). it shouldn't be like that but it is, unfortunantly. we need to try to change that around, if we have a boyfriend or a girlfriend or if you are even married don't treat them like garbage treat them like you would if God was watching and He is.
this passage is mainly focused on telling wives to be submitfull to their husbands. and at the same time it is telling husbands to strive to be the best husbands they can be.
okay, i had one write after godservant and it didn't show.
i said that when we decide to marry our husband/wife we should make sure they are obedient and faithful to God. That way if you both are you marrige will be blessed =]
