Sorry for posting so late, I'm really sick and never got to do it earlier. I figured PL would have done it by now, but I'm sure he's busy.

1 Corinthians 12

1 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant.
2 Ye know that ye were Gentiles, carried away unto these dumb idols, even as ye were led.
3 Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.
4 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.
5 And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.
6 And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.
7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.
8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;
9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;
10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:
11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.
12 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ. 13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.
14 For the body is not one member, but many.
15 If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?
16 And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?
17 If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling?
18 But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him.
19 And if they were all one member, where were the body?

11 "But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will."

Verse 10 and 11 is saying there are many interpretations of the bible, different ways people run churches, and so on. But they are ALL run by the same God, even if they are off by a few things.

I am SO sick. I had a miserable day, throwing up 3 times, and with a fever of 101. Every time I eat food, I throw it up like 5 minutes later. Basically, I've had nothing to eat the whole day. Pray for me!

the end of the verses was saying that we are all part of the body (of Christ) meaning that if we are christians then we are part of God. if we are part of the body of Christ then we should try to do things that will benefit the whole body not just part of the body. meaning we should do things that will glorify God and show God through our lives (benefitting the whole body) and not do things that will put God down like saying you are a christian but you go out and party and cuss all the time. we need to lift up God in everything we do and be part of the body of Christ.

This kind of reminds me of that song, i dont know the name, but if youve heard it you know what im talkin bout. (:
Well i think its talking about how we are all going to have varied gifts, and all have talents that may be wayy different from the next, but when it boils down to it, God has given us each such differentiating qualities to use united for His glory.
If we all choose to use our spiritual gifts, like say preaching, or loving, or being a hardworker and put all of them into the church and used our abilities for their true and ultimate purpose, thatd be pretty amazing... Just think of all we could accomplish!
In a way, it kind of makes me think that we should never really wonder why or be frustrated with God that we dont have the ability to do certain things that we want to do because God has planned purposes for all of us; we just have to first be willing and ready to serve God for Him to reveal them to us.

MICHAEl youre not dumb for wanting your ipod back! Its obviously one of those motitvating things you like to have at school and important to you, but in a Godly manner from what youve told me so STOP WORRYING ABOUT IT.
I have a good feeling you will get it back or something, i dont know, its weird.
