SUNDAY, December 7th, 2008

PL is super busy. Again. Why am I not surprised? Here is the rest of chapter 12 from yesterday.

1 Corinthians 12

20 But now are they many members, yet but one body.
21 And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you.
22 Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are necessary:
23 And those members of the body, which we think to be less honourable, upon these we bestow more abundant honour; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness.
24 For our comely parts have no need: but God hath tempered the body together, having given more abundant honour to that part which lacked.
25 That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another.
26 And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it.
27 Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.
28 And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.
29 Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles?
30 Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?
31 But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way.

The whole chapter is talking about the body of Christ, which is us. We need to work together and keep the body in order, because just like our phisical bodies, one part can't just stop funtioning because it wants too. the same is for the body of Christ.

this is saying that we are all the body of Christ and if one suffers then they all suffer and if one is honored then they all are honored and they rejoice because of it. one person can't just quit (preaching the gospel or talking about God) because it would mess up everything, just like this morning, the leg can't want to be the arm and since it is not the arm it just stops working because that would mess up everything and you couldn't walk. so we all need to work together and never give up and if that happens then the body of Christ will function almost perfect.

Im sorry i wasnt at church today My mom and wayne left without me because i woke up late and needed 10 extra minutes.... Even though every other morning IM the one whos supposed to wake mom up, i guess she couldnt return the favor

Well anyways this is concerning the same things as yesterdays devotions, but here it tells a little more about it all.

Well, i find verses 21/22. I think it says to not value one of the gifts given to another higher than another gift, because basically, every gift is need to correctly function the body fo Christ and fulfill His purposes. We all have equal value to God, and we would realize it if we just used our gifts correctly.
Then, it goes to say that working together also means sympathizing and celebrating each others mistakes/successes in the Lord.
It reminds me of when you break an arm or something; all of your other body parts work together to make up for the lost arm ability until it heals.
The opposite affect when your body is flourishingly healthy, all of the body parts are free and strong
and everything functions great, thus you can DO MORE.
Pretty cool stuff to think about actually (:

:( anywho
I guess(like everyone else said)this passage is about us being one body in christ.A lot of the decisions we make influences others. if we decide to go one way someone might follow your example and make a bad decision. its not just one thing one thing happens and it leads to another and the whole church might fall apart. We all need to work together as 1. 1 church, one community ONE FAMILY OF GOD!!!!!!!!!!!

And pleeease pray for me tomorrow i have 50 thing going on all at once.
I have to sing this song for a musical audition,(i just got the song tonight/im ultra scared)i have two BIG tests, and a project to work on, so i hope i stay in a good and non-stressed kind of mood.
