Michael: You did a great job for me man! I appreciate it very much! I think there are more people doing the devotions with you then there were for me :) We will just let you do it all the time... :) Just kidding! But seriously! I will have you help me out again soon! You did a great job!

Proverbs 29

1 He, that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.
2 When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.
3 Whoso loveth wisdom rejoiceth his father: but he that keepeth company with harlots spendeth his substance.
4 The king by judgment establisheth the land: but he that receiveth gifts overthroweth it.
5 A man that flattereth his neighbour spreadeth a net for his feet.
6 In the transgression of an evil man there is a snare: but the righteous doth sing and rejoice.
7 The righteous considereth the cause of the poor: but the wicked regardeth not to know it.
8 Scornful men bring a city into a snare: but wise men turn away wrath.
9 If a wise man contendeth with a foolish man, whether he rage or laugh, there is no rest.
10 The bloodthirsty hate the upright: but the just seek his soul.
11 A fool uttereth all his mind: but a wise man keepeth it in till afterwards.
12 If a ruler hearken to lies, all his servants are wicked.
13 The poor and the deceitful man meet together: the LORD lighteneth both their eyes.
14 The king that faithfully judgeth the poor, his throne shall be established for ever.
15 The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame.
16 When the wicked are multiplied, transgression increaseth: but the righteous shall see their fall.
17 Correct thy son, and he shall give thee rest; yea, he shall give delight unto thy soul.
18 Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.
19 A servant will not be corrected by words: for though he understand he will not answer.
20 Seest thou a man that is hasty in his words? there is more hope of a fool than of him.
21 He that delicately bringeth up his servant from a child shall have him become his son at the length.
22 An angry man stirreth up strife, and a furious man aboundeth in transgression.
23 A man's pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit.
24 Whoso is partner with a thief hateth his own soul: he heareth cursing, and bewrayeth it not.
25 The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe.
26 Many seek the ruler's favour; but every man's judgment cometh from the LORD.
27 An unjust man is an abomination to the just: and he that is upright in the way is abomination to the wicked.

Wow! There are some GREAT VERSES IN THIS CHAPTER!!!!!
Number 25 is definitely the one that spoke to me the most today... THE FEAR OF MAN BRING A TRAP IN YOUR LIFE... DONT FEAR MAN, instead put your trust in the LORD and you will be safe... now this is not talking about getting beat up necessarily it can be about anything... When we do what man wants because we fear what they think, or what they will say, then it only puts us in a trap. Instead of fearing man, we MUST DO WHAT IS RIGHT!!!!! AND TRUST GOD WITH THE REST!!!

Another amazing verse is verse 16: It tells us that when there are many wicked people then their will be lots of sin everywhere... But that is not the end of the story... The fact is the righteous will see them FALL... Generally it seems like the righteous are the ones that are getting beat up and tossed around, but this verse makes it clear that the righteous will be victorious in the end...

Then there are several verses that talk about holding your tongue... It even says: A fool is one who speaks his whole mind... I have done that before... said EVERYTHING I was thinking about something... THAT IS GENERALLY NOT A SMART THING TO DO... in fact the Bible calls that foolish!

Verse 20 is another highlight and it says do you know anyone that is hasty in his words, That means: do you know someone who is quick to talk, and give their opinion, their argument, their defence, their thoughts... well, if you know someone like that, there is MORE HOPR FOR A FOOL THAN FOR THAT PERSON!!!

OUCH!!! I do not want to be that guy!! I want to hold my tongue!! I think that is probably something that we can all do a little better!!! I am sure going to try!

Verse 23 was a big one I wanted to talk about. It says, A man's pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit. Did you see that one word in that sentence that starts with a p. Pride. If it were not for pride, this world would be sinless. Think about it. Pride led to Lucifer's fall, and eventually led to our fall as well. Pride does not only destroy our lives, it can- and did- destroy the world. Because God's intention for His angels, and us, was to serve Him. But since most of us have pride, we thing were to good to serve God, and therefore, corrupt our purpose. However, if we have honor, we can be humble toward others. Because humility is the exact opposite of pride, it can restore our relationship to Almighty God.

Well, verse 11 is pretty good advice that im sure all of us could use one time or another.
Just today i was being judged BIG TIME and felt like just saying what i had in mind of the person doing it.
Even though i partially held my foolish tongue by staying respectful to the person, i later went off and ranted about it to a friend.
I dont handle things as well as i should when it comes to my mouth; i say a lottt opf stupid things and sometimes offensive things without knowing it.
I guess a good way for me to think of it is to imagine that every comment or opinion i decide to blurt out, should be with conscience that God knows the dark place in my heart that that is coming from and remind myself that i would never want to insult God, or be insulted MY SELF, so i should watch out for what im tossing out.
