I just wanted to post for Pastor Lee today because I feel like he will be very busy with trunk or treat tonight and with other things.

Proverbs 31

1 The words of king Lemuel, the prophecy that his mother taught him.
2 What, my son? and what, the son of my womb? and what, the son of my vows?
3 Give not thy strength unto women, nor thy ways to that which destroyeth kings.
4 It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine; nor for princes strong drink:
5 Lest they drink, and forget the law, and pervert the judgment of any of the afflicted.
6 Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto those that be of heavy hearts.
7 Let him drink, and forget his poverty, and remember his misery no more.
8 Open thy mouth for the dumb in the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction.
9 Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy.
10 Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.
11 The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.
12 She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.
13 She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.
14 She is like the merchants' ships; she bringeth her food from afar.
15 She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.
16 She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.
17 She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms.
18 She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night.
19 She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.
20 She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.
21 She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet.
22 She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple.
23 Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land.

24 She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant.
25 Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.
26 She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.
27 She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.
28 Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.
29 Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.
30 Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.
31 Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.

This is such a great passage for both men and women to read although it is predominantly about women. This passage is known as the passage about the Virtuous Woman.

Ladies, this is what a wonderful virtuous woman is like. she fears the Lord, she takes care of her family, she is wise, caring, loving, faithful and so much more. This is the perfect wife, the perfect mother, the perfect girl friend, the perfect Best Friend... You could go on and on about how wonderufl this kind of woman is. My question is: Are you this kind of virtuous woman?

Guys, this passage should be a guideline for the kind of wife you are looking for. If you know that you are going to get married someday then it would be a good idea to study these verses and find that kind of girl.

No matter who you are this is a great passage to know and understand!!!

Sweet! An early posting - and UGH! it just happens to be on the Proverbs 31 day - you know, the chapter some of us always try to skip over - because "she" seems to be a perfect 10 and we (okay, me)are(is)not! Today I am reminded not to be burdened with the whole pic - God is the only one that can handle that - just work on this moment - and after I look back over the years hopefully, some day, I'll be a great Proverbs 31 woman... someday.
Am I to be trusted right now?
Am I doing good right now?
Am I... you get the pic...
Be safe tonight.
Boo!

The reason why the wives should "submit yourself to your husbands" because in the garden of Eden, Eve was the one to suggest to Adam to eat the fruit off the tree. I'm assuming God doesn't want that to happen again, so he made the man in charge of his wife.
And since Christ is called "the bridegroom" and the church "the bride" it would be wierd for the church telling God what to do, because the church is his wife (soon to be) and christ will be the husband.

well what i got out of this was to marry a faithful women that trusts in God and that submits to her husband. not a lot of couples these days are saved when they get married. thats the reason most marriages end up in divorses because they don't wait until God sends the the perfect match for them or they don't listen to God or talk to God because they probably aren't christians. my dad always tells me to marry a person that is a christian and that trusts and walks with God, which is so true and most men should look for that. also in the bible it says for women to submit to their husbands, but the men shouldn't abuse that, they should use it wisely. i know this was more about a women thing today but since i am a guy i made it into a marriage thing (kind of).

i hope the TRUNK OR TREAT thing tonight went well for everyone and that everyone had a good time, and i hope everyone had a good HALLOWEEN. also now that football is over i should be on the devos. and at church a lot more...can't wait. PL just making sure you can pick me up sunday for church and if you can what time will you be over to pick me up?

This is how i hope to be or become someday. The virtous woman just seems to have everything together. she is wise and loyal and loves her husban with everything she has, and in return he loves her back. I need to work harder to be like her, so I can have that someday.

Wow, yeah. To see and understand how things are suppose to be according to Gods word, cheers my heart, even when things are down.

I may not understand it now, but God has a plan for everything. So all I do is just pray and be patient, and do things Gods way. No matter how hard it is.

You sometimes wonder, when everything hits the fan, when God puts you through the most testfull things, do you have what it takes to be patient and wise, and understanding?

I don't know how i'm fairing, but I am trying!!! :)

Hope you guys had a good trunk er treat!

Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.

So this is like, the guide on how to be a good Godly woman.
Sure, it says that to be a woman like that, you have to be hardworking, smart, loving, caring, all of that greaty stuff, but verse 30 sums it all up.
It reminds me that they way to be such a virtuous woman is by fearing and following the Lord!
Its awesome to think that if i just have fear for the Lord and trust Him, that i can be all of those great things to people someday.
