GUESS WHERE I AM GOING TOMORROW?? I AM GOING TO THE WORLD SERIES!!!

Let me tell you how it all happened:

Yesterday Katie and I were driving home and she wanted a chicken sandwich. She told me to go to McD's or Chick Fli'A. I told her that McD's was easier because it was on our side of the road. I was about to pull in when she changed her mind and said, No, go ahead and go to Chick Fil-A. So I did. When we got there, there were news media everywhere. I asked the drive through employee what was going on and she said that our local minor league team was hosting an event. She also told us they were giving away two World Series Tickets. Needless to say, I went in and filled out a flyer for the drawing...

THEN THIS MORNING I GOT A CALL ON MY CELL TELLING ME THAT WE WON THE TICKETS!!!!!I won two tickets to the World Series!!

WOW! THAT IS SO COOL!
But not as cool as doing your devotions is:

Here is what we are going to do for the next month... we are going to do the chapter in provers of the date... for example... today is the 22nd of October, so we will do Chapter 22... tomorrow will be 23 and so on...

Proverbs 22:

1A GOOD name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and gold.
2The rich and poor meet together: the LORD is the maker of them all.
3A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself: but the simple pass on, and are punished.
4By humility and the fear of the LORD are riches, and honour, and life.
5Thorns and snares are in the way of the froward: he that doth keep his soul shall be far from them.
6Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
7The rich ruleth over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender.
8He that soweth iniquity shall reap vanity: and the rod of his anger shall fail.
9He that hath a bountiful eye shall be blessed; for he giveth of his bread to the poor.
10Cast out the scorner, and contention shall go out; yea, strife and reproach shall cease.
11He that loveth pureness of heart, for the grace of his lips the king shall be his friend.
12The eyes of the LORD preserve knowledge, and he overthroweth the words of the transgressor.
13The slothful man saith, There is a lion without, I shall be slain in the streets.
14The mouth of strange women is a deep pit: he that is abhorred of the LORD shall fall therein.
15Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him.
16He that oppresseth the poor to increase his riches, and he that giveth to the rich, shall surely come to want.
17Bow down thine ear, and hear the words of the wise, and apply thine heart unto my knowledge.
18For it is a pleasant thing if thou keep them within thee; they shall withal be fitted in thy lips.
19That thy trust may be in the LORD, I have made known to thee this day, even to thee.
20Have not I written to thee excellent things in counsels and knowledge,
21That I might make thee know the certainty of the words of truth; that thou mightest answer the words of truth to them that send unto thee?
22Rob not the poor, because he is poor: neither oppress the afflicted in the gate:
23For the LORD will plead their cause, and spoil the soul of those that spoiled them.
24Make no friendship with an angry man; and with a furious man thou shalt not go:
25Lest thou learn his ways, and get a snare to thy soul.
26Be not thou one of them that strike hands, or of them that are sureties for debts.
27If thou hast nothing to pay, why should he take away thy bed from under thee?
28Remove not the ancient landmark, which thy fathers have set.
29Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.

WOW i can't believe i am the first one on here and it is 8:40pm already, well WOO HOO i am first i guess.

well since every verse is something different and they don't tie into each other, i will just pick a few verses that touched me the most. the first one that touched me was verse 6 and that sayed to-raise up a child in the way he should go, so when he is old he will not depart from it-and that means to me that parents should raise their childs so when they get older they will have wisdom to go out in the real world and live their own lives and make the right choices in life. another verse that touched me was 29 and that says-seest that a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings, he will not stand before mean men-and that means to me that if you are diligent in life and with God then you will be rewarded (standing before kings), but if you aren't diligent then you will be unorganized and messed up in life (stand before mean men). so those were two of the things that touched me.

congratulations Pastor Lee on winning the tickets and have a good time tomorrow at the world series. sorry i haven't been on in a while but with football and homework i rarely get a chance to do them. i can't wait until football season is over just so i can do my devos. again and go back to church, i haven't seen you guys in like 2 weeks.

This is a very confusing passage, and I personally like Romans better but it's all God's Word and it's all equally important. So, LETS MOVE ON.

16 "He that oppresseth the poor to increase his riches, and he that giveth to the rich, shall surely come to want."

Verse 16 REALLY caught my attention because it sounds so familier to how politicians work today (most of them). All the politicians want is money and they always want more (just like verse 16 says) I don't see why they just don't want to give every household like 30 thousand bucks. Sure they can bailout the banks for 700 billion, but they can't help the American people out!? Crazyness. Anyway, we need to pray for the politicians and/or maybe do something about it so it doesn't affect our lifetime as bad as many people expect it.

Yeah Pastor Lee, congrats on winning those tickets. I am very jealous.

Pastor Lee, call me on friday morning AFTER 9 a.m. because I'm going to try to catch up on lost sleep. Maybe you can show me... "The secret" and can hang out later on.

Would you choose to have a good (honorable) name or be very very rich?

I think most people would throw away their good name for a buck, but the fact is that Gods word makes it clear we will NEVER be happy with money if we do not have honor.

Wow!Verse 8 is incredible! He that soweth iniquity reapeth VANITY!!

Do you know what that means? It means that people who live in sin are going to one day realize that they have wasted their life...

Dont waste your life!!

Do you think it is wrong to spank a child? God does not. Read verse 15. It says that they way to make your child stop being foolish is to use the rod.

Ask will about that... I use the rod on him all the time.

(the pretzel rod that is... that is the only thing that keeps him quiet)

But one day, He will be spanked when he does wrong.

Verse 24 also jumps out to me! MAKE NO FRIENDSHIP WITH AN ANGRY MAN!!! Wow!

I am not supposed to be friends with someone who cannot control their anger... With someone that cannot control their tongue, or their relationships...

Do you have any friends like that? Are you a friend like that?

Well first I must say I hope you guys like this picture of Jon Jess and me when we were little!!! They dont know this pic exists yet so I hope they are not to embarrassed!! HAHA LOL!!! (I think jon is still the same!) JK,JK,JK,JK! LOL
Well anyways...

What had caught my eye the most was the 1st few verses. It says that God made us all, the rich and the poor. Verse 1 means that its better to be known with a GOOD christian life showing that you are living for Him rather than a rich life being happy about it. Also we should raise up a child in the way he should go. (which my mom had reminded me that that verse is a song i learned when I was little.) Anyways we should raise up a child in the right direction that God would want them to go so they will live for Him!(raise them up as christians) I think we should start calling ppl to remind them to do their devotions. I remember when I wouldnt get on to do mine and now I love doing them because it helps me get through life and follow God! anyways I wish ppl would do them for the right reasons and not for rewards. I had a great night Pastor Lee c ya Sunday! bye

The ongoing battle in the bible between the rich and the poor is emphasized in this Chapter of Proverbs. The Lord states MANY times that happiness will not come from riches. Men are so quick to give up their good name, their families, their friends, anything to have material possessions. We must take all of our needs from the Lord and only the Lord.

The verse expressing that we should not become friends with those who are angry really stands out to me. I have often befriended angry people, hoping that I could help them with their anger problems. What I found was that at the end of my day with them I was angry as well.
Recently I have been angry often as the stress of school really falls down on my shoulders. I find it hard to concentrate on the Lord as the worldly ways of my peers surround me. I really need to pray and stay deep within his words and ways.
Raise up a child in the way that they should go: and when he is older he will not depart from it. That is important for me because I KNOW that I was raised as a child of God.

Looks like I am NOT coming to North Port this weekend so my prayers will be with all of you this weekend and on Sunday. I will see you all next week for sure!

Make sure that no matter what is going on you find some time for God. It's really hard for me to find time but I am trying!!

Jusstt finished homework...
but hey, i usually dont even have the patience to sit and do it so im getting better :P

So verse four is the most vibrant to me. I
It says that through the Lord we will find riches and honor and life; we dont need earthly things to have all of that!
If we are patient here on earth as we aim to please God and live for Him, we will have ETERNAL richness in many more ways than materialistically.
ORRRRR
We can be selfish and waste our earthly lives striving for TEMPORARY riches in the one simple form of materialism.

SIGN ME UP FOR THE FIRST ONE.

God gives us so much opportunity to live a HAPPY life for Him in exchange for ETERNAL happiness, love, and so many other great things through Him, but a lot of times, 'in the moment' we want things now, and lose our focus.
I know im a very impatient person and shoud remember what im saying here.

You know one thing I don't like about proverbs is that it is so packed with information that I'm gonna be on this computer for hours. Well for times sake plus I still need to get some sleep I'm only gonna focus on a few points. So for the first of three points I'm gonna talk about the first verse and a couple after. It says how a good name is rather to be chosen than great riches. Thats kinda like saying I rather be known for me rather than what I have. And its better to be a good person than to have all that monet and stuff. No matter how you look at it wether we are rich or poor we were all made by god anyways. Many people need to read verse seven The rich ruleth over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender. So many people borrow money weather it be a credit card or a loan, and don't pay it off. the peopole that got the loan should be bending over backward just to pay it off, but america and other people are just to lazy and stingy to do that. so finally verse 15 IF YOU ARE WISE DO NOT LET YOUR PARENTS SEE THIS VERSE EVER. Yeah I agree that some children need a beat down from time to time. Small bouts of physical pain is how we train animals such as dogs, rhinos, and rats to do certain actions. If it works on them why not us as well since there was a proffesional dog trainer that counseled torn marriges and brought them back together using dog training tricks.

GOOD NIGHT!
