Hey you guys! I heard that you have the day out of school today?? That is incredible! Well, I am going to be at my new house for a good part of the day and so I figure that maybe you can come over to my house and help me work :) Good plan?
Well lets get onto the devotions, Michael, thanks for being faithful man! Thanks for helping me out so much during this CRAZY week! I will tell you all about it in Sunday School!
Alright, Devotions:
1 So I returned, and considered all the oppressions that are done under the sun: and behold the tears of such as were oppressed, and they had no comforter; and on the side of their oppressors there was power; but they had no comforter.
2 Wherefore I praised the dead which are already dead more than the living which are yet alive.
3 Yea, better is he than both they, which hath not yet been, who hath not seen the evil work that is done under the sun.
4 Again, I considered all travail, and every right work, that for this a man is envied of his neighbour. This is also vanity and vexation of spirit.
5 The fool foldeth his hands together, and eateth his own flesh.
6 Better is an handful with quietness, than both the hands full with travail and vexation of spirit.
7 Then I returned, and I saw vanity under the sun.
8 There is one alone, and there is not a second; yea, he hath neither child nor brother: yet is there no end of all his labour; neither is his eye satisfied with riches; neither saith he, For whom do I labour, and bereave my soul of good? This is also vanity, yea, it is a sore travail.
9 Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour.
10 For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up.
11 Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm alone?
12 And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.
13 Better is a poor and a wise child than an old and foolish king, who will no more be admonished.
14 For out of prison he cometh to reign; whereas also he that is born in his kingdom becometh poor.
15 I considered all the living which walk under the sun, with the second child that shall stand up in his stead.
16 There is no end of all the people, even of all that have been before them: they also that come after shall not rejoice in him. Surely this also is vanity and vexation of spirit.
This passage is incredible! It is a little hard to understand at first, but as the passage keeps going, it gets better and better. I love verse 7 - 12. I am sure you have heard of these verses before, they remind us that WE NEED A FRIEND! We need someone who can lift us up, we need someone who will hold us accountable, we need someont to talk to and we need someone to pray with... I could go on and on, this passage makes it clear that life is much better when we have a friend.
Then we see that a three string cord is not quickly broken, when we have God in the midst of our friendships then they are not quickly broken....
Have you ever met someone who has a new best friend ever couple of days, or weeks? Well, that means that someone in that relationship was not being Godly... because if they would have been Godly, then that frienship would not have been severed!
Alright Guys! Have a great day! Call me!

Something I see about all of my friends, is that I have about the same number in EVERY social group. I don't like being bias about belonging to one particular group. 'Cause everyone in school belongs to a group, meaning most of their friends are in that one. But with me, I have in equal number of friends and people I know in every group. Now I classify these people in three categories: Friends, people I know, and enemies. Friends are people I know who don't insult me (unless we are playing around) and will be there for you (well from my preception) people I know are just like friends, only they lack a few things. And I can't really thing of any enemies I have, except Satan of course. If you want to make friends, THEN BE FRIENDLY!
I kinda am like that to Michael. Like yes i am in a group and most of my close friends are in it, but i try to be friends with everyone! and i do have some close friends who are in a different group.
Verse 9 is a verse that i've known and heard for a long time! and its really cool cause when my mom was pregnant with me, she didn't know if she wanted another kind( i was a surprise) so i guess she was thinking about having a abortion "GASP!" haha but she prayed and asked God what she should do and God gave her this verse!:]
For me, having a best friend or helpful friends around you is one of the most important things ever. It's cool to talk to people that are in different 'social groups' because it's nice to get to know people. Hard to beleive, even though I'm shy, I like to get to know everyone(i'm getting better at it!) Whether it be close friends, or people you've just met, getting to know others can help build stronger future friendships. I thank God that my best friend Sarah and I are exactly alike(we're both artists and nerds) because I think it's good to have that one friend that you can relate to alot. My definition of a best friend(s): someone you can pray with, you can be your silly self around them, tell them anything, and they will always be there when you need them. Just like verses 7-12 states, life is so much better when you have a friend to turn to!

Well Enemies change with peoples hearts Stratton but there are sure indicators of Satan using people and these people become enemies. Verse 10 shows why we need one Godly friend to be there for us. I think I'm blessed with a couple really good friends. In Highschool though I know I was spread thin. I thought a lot more people were my friend than actually were. When it came down to it most of them left me when things got hard. Be careful where your friendships lie and make sure they are Godly relationships.
this passage is based on friends... it tells how a three string chord is not quickly broke, it refers to this cord as being you, your good godly friend and christ. if you have these 2 things it will be hard for worldy things to take you down. opposed from having no good friend and not haveing god, it will be much easier to fall into worldly things.
