Only 1 comment from yesterday?! Guys, I know we can do better. I am praying.

Ecclesiastes 3

14 I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him.
15 That which hath been is now; and that which is to be hath already been; and God requireth that which is past.
16 And moreover I saw under the sun the place of judgment, that wickedness was there; and the place of righteousness, that iniquity was there.
17 I said in mine heart, God shall judge the righteous and the wicked: for there is a time there for every purpose and for every work.
18 I said in mine heart concerning the estate of the sons of men, that God might manifest them, and that they might see that they themselves are beasts.
19 For that which befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts; even one thing befalleth them: as the one dieth, so dieth the other; yea, they have all one breath; so that a man hath no preeminence above a beast: for all is vanity.
20 All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again.
21 Who knoweth the spirit of man that goeth upward, and the spirit of the beast that goeth downward to the earth?
22 Wherefore I perceive that there is nothing better, than that a man should rejoice in his own works; for that is his portion: for who shall bring him to see what shall be after him?

I really have no clue what this passage means, but I will try my best to decifer it.

The only verse that sounds easy to decifer is the one that explains itself: verse 17.

Some decisions we make in our lives affect the outcome of our life substantially. Yeah sure, maybe things like, what will I eat for dinner won't matter, but other things like, who I will hang out with, or will I make the decicion to have premarial sex; the list goes on. Those big boy decicions; their outcome; which is the consequences, will last for ETERNITY. Do you know how long an eternity is? One day? One year? A thousand years? NO, AN ETERNITY IS FOREVER!!! Not good is you make the wrong choice, which puts you in the wicked category of the section (in verse 17), because you will not be able to take it back after the world slips into eternity. So, one question that will be remembered for eternity is this: DO YOU HAVE JESUS CHRIST AS YOU PERSONAL LORD AND SAVIOR?!

This passage is telling us that any decision that we make will have an outcome no matter what, whether it be good or bad. And sometimes you'll say to youself, "Why was I so stupid to do something ilke that?" and we've all been there before.. If you look at Ecclesiastes Chapter 2, it is telling us that we should not worry over the little things in life such as 'what cell phone should I buy next' or 'who should I date now' or something along those lines, we shouldn't think overly about things like that, (it may seem like joy but it is not the TRUE joy we long for) but this passage I think is saying that we need to think more thouroughly when it comes to bigger decisions that involves even bigger outcomes and consequences. Things that can keep someone out of Heaven. This is why it is vitally important that everyone knows Jesus Christ as thier Lord and Saviour. He knows how to help us get back up on our feet when we have fallen, and helps us understand what joy is really like. Remember: Eternity is unlimited time. And it's our job as Christians to share the word of God-Amen.

this verse is telling us that everything that God does is perfect, everything that God does will last forever, everything that God does is important!!

So what? well the first few chapters have been reminding us of one thing: everything that we do for ourselves or by ourselves is A WASTE!!!!! literally! A WASTE!

think about it: what did you do today that was not for God, solomon, the wisest man ever says that it was a huge waste!!

that is pretty astounding!

Yeahhhh um I didn't get that much from this passage either, but I'll just go by what you put in green...lol. So anyway, yes our decisions are SO important, EVERYTHING we do has some type of consequence, and it's so important to make good decisions. Yeah there are little decisions like how we're going to fix our hair, or what shoes we're going to wear; but there are also humongous decisions that will affect us, some of them, for the rest of our lives. Since I'm in SWAT, I'll use this example. Wayyy too many teens smoke, and they had to start somewhere. It started with a decision. Chances are, someone handed them a cigarette and told them to try it, and they made a really bad decision, and they tried it. That will affect them probably for the rest of their life. Now they won't be able to stop because it's addictive, and they will have much higher risks of dying earlier than if they didn't smoke. The point is, we all have to make decisions, and we have to think them through before giving an answer right away. Think, 'Will God want me to do this? What are the risks? Will this show that I am a follower of the Lord?,' things like that. It wouldn't be right to do something when you know it isn't right, and then ask for forgiveness for your actions. So just try to make the best decisions you can, and THEN if you made a mistake, ask for forgiveness and make sure you won't do it again! :)
