WOW!!!!!!! If there has ever been a Rated R devotional passage... this is it. Read this and observe how far sin will take you... It will take you farther than you ever thought you would go!!

Sex, Scandal, Incest, Homosexuality, Riots, Destruction, a woman even turns to salt!! This sounds just like a movie trailer or something!! Not Quite! Just a description of the passage you are about to read!

Genesis 19

1 Now the two angels came to Sodom in the evening, and Lot was sitting in the gate of Sodom. When Lot saw them, he rose to meet them, and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground.
2 And he said, “Here now, my lords, please turn in to your servant’s house and spend the night, and wash your feet; then you may rise early and go on your way.”And they said, “No, but we will spend the night in the open square.”
3 But he insisted strongly; so they turned in to him and entered his house. Then he made them a feast, and baked unleavened bread, and they ate.
4 Now before they lay down, the men of the city, the men of Sodom, both old and young, all the people from every quarter, surrounded the house.
5 And they called to Lot and said to him, “Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us that we may know them carnally.”
6 So Lot went out to them through the doorway, shut the door behind him,
7 and said, “Please, my brethren, do not do so wickedly!
8 See now, I have two daughters who have not known a man; please, let me bring them out to you, and you may do to them as you wish; only do nothing to these men, since this is the reason they have come under the shadow of my roof.”
9 And they said, “Stand back!” Then they said, “This one came in to stay here, and he keeps acting as a judge; now we will deal worse with you than with them.” So they pressed hard against the man Lot, and came near to break down the door.
10 But the men reached out their hands and pulled Lot into the house with them, and shut the door.
11 And they struck the men who were at the doorway of the house with blindness, both small and great, so that they became weary trying to find the door.

Sodom and Gomorrah Destroyed
12 Then the men said to Lot, “Have you anyone else here? Son-in-law, your sons, your daughters, and whomever you have in the city—take them out of this place!
13 For we will destroy this place, because the outcry against them has grown great before the face of the LORD, and the LORD has sent us to destroy it.”
14 So Lot went out and spoke to his sons-in-law, who had married his daughters, and said, “Get up, get out of this place; for the LORD will destroy this city!” But to his sons-in-law he seemed to be joking.
15 When the morning dawned, the angels urged Lot to hurry, saying, “Arise, take your wife and your two daughters who are here, lest you be consumed in the punishment of the city.”
16 And while he lingered, the men took hold of his hand, his wife’s hand, and the hands of his two daughters, the LORD being merciful to him, and they brought him out and set him outside the city.
17 So it came to pass, when they had brought them outside, that he said, “Escape for your life! Do not look behind you nor stay anywhere in the plain. Escape to the mountains, lest you be destroyed.”
18 Then Lot said to them, “Please, no, my lords!
19 Indeed now, your servant has found favor in your sight, and you have increased your mercy which you have shown me by saving my life; but I cannot escape to the mountains, lest some evil overtake me and I die.
20 See now, this city is near enough to flee to, and it is a little one; please let me escape there (is it not a little one?) and my soul shall live.”
21 And he said to him, “See, I have favored you concerning this thing also, in that I will not overthrow this city for which you have spoken.
22 Hurry, escape there. For I cannot do anything until you arrive there.” Therefore the name of the city was called Zoar.
23 The sun had risen upon the earth when Lot entered Zoar.
24 Then the LORD rained brimstone and fire on Sodom and Gomorrah, from the LORD out of the heavens.
25 So He overthrew those cities, all the plain, all the inhabitants of the cities, and what grew on the ground.
26 But his wife looked back behind him, and she became a pillar of salt.
27 And Abraham went early in the morning to the place where he had stood before the LORD.
28 Then he looked toward Sodom and Gomorrah, and toward all the land of the plain; and he saw, and behold, the smoke of the land which went up like the smoke of a furnace.
29 And it came to pass, when God destroyed the cities of the plain, that God remembered Abraham, and sent Lot out of the midst of the overthrow, when He overthrew the cities in which Lot had dwelt.

The Descendants of Lot
30 Then Lot went up out of Zoar and dwelt in the mountains, and his two daughters were with him; for he was afraid to dwell in Zoar. And he and his two daughters dwelt in a cave.
31 Now the firstborn said to the younger, “Our father is old, and there is no man on the earth to come in to us as is the custom of all the earth.
32 Come, let us make our father drink wine, and we will lie with him, that we may preserve the lineage of our father.”
33 So they made their father drink wine that night. And the firstborn went in and lay with her father, and he did not know when she lay down or when she arose.
34 It happened on the next day that the firstborn said to the younger, “Indeed I lay with my father last night; let us make him drink wine tonight also, and you go in and lie with him, that we may preserve the lineage of our father.”
35 Then they made their father drink wine that night also. And the younger arose and lay with him, and he did not know when she lay down or when she arose.
36 Thus both the daughters of Lot were with child by their father.
37 The firstborn bore a son and called his name Moab; he is the father of the Moabites to this day.
38 And the younger, she also bore a son and called his name Ben-Ammi; he is the father of the people of Ammon to this day.

Wow! Can you believe what you have just read? I bet you did not realize you would ever read that in the Bible...
In the first part of this passage we see two angels go into the city of Sodom, these angels end up staying the night at Lot's house. After a while passes by, there is a riot of people outside the doors of Lots house and they are about to pound the door down, because they want to "commit homosexual acts" with these two angels!!

Lot steps outside to tell them to leave and Lot is so pathetic that He offers his two virgin daughters to this group of perverts so that they can "do as they wish" with his daughters!!!! Lot was willing to give up his pure daughters to this crowd of wicked fools!!

say it with me: SIN MAKES YOU STUPID!!!!!! [if I remember correctly this all started with Lot picking an area of Land so that He could SEE Sodom, not live in it... Look how far sin has taken him now]

Well, the riotous men are so perverted that they dont even want the two young virgin daughters, instead they begin trying to beat the door down...

The two angels tell Lot to get his family and tell them that Gods judgment will fall on the city... this part is so sad! Look what happens... Even Lots own children do not believe their father... He hash such a low reputation of Character and Integrity, that even his children do not believe him.

Well, because of Lots' lack of integrity, some of his family would not even leave Sodom, and they were destroyed. Lot and his wife and two of his daughters left the city... As they were leaving the angels told them not to look back or they would be punished.

When you get rid of sin in your life, you CANNOT KEEP LOOKING BACK AT IT!! YOU MUST LEAVE IT AND NEVER GO BACK! When you look back towards it, you are showing your love, and your fleshly desires for that sin... Lot's wife looked back and was turned into a pillar of Salt...

So is there a happy ending? They got out of the city alive! (well some of them) What happens next... the daughters decide that they want to carry the family line on to future generations, so they get their father LOT drunk, and both daughters give away their virginity TO THEIR FATHER...

Pastor Lee, why are you explaining this so specifically? BECAUSE I WANT YOU TO SEE THAT WHEN WE LIVE FOR THE WORLD IT WILL DESTROY US! Lot made a decision to get too close to sin, and it destroyed EVERYTHING HE HAD. It destroyed his family, his potential, his influence, his legacy... ALL OF IT WAS GONE, BECAUSE OF HIS SIN...

Satan wants you to think that sin is exciting... that is why He will get a song on the radio that talks all about two girls "kissing" and liking it... BUT YOU MUST REMEMBER: The end of Sin is DEATH!! Destruction! and Speparation from God! Wow! What a great passage!

Wow Im not up there.. I Phail!!!!!

The first part of this scares me. O.O Nuff said. As for the rest when Sodom trys to warn them about the judgement that will be set on the place not even his family believes him. I would pick them up and make them come with me. When I was a kid i remember this story being told that his wife turned to stone not salt. Is that just a difference in like king james etc.

I phailed I didnt make it ><

I thought this passage was...different. I thought the dumbest part was when Lot was willingly going to give up his daughters to strange wierdoes. Lot feared the wierdoes more than he loved his daughters according to my understanding. Like I said a while back... Love will conquer all fear.

wow this passage is intense I dont think ive actually heard this story before! It just shows that some people are willing to be absolutely ridiculous just to please themselves. It kills me to hear that Lots two daughters gave their virginity up to their father! Gross!

Wow! If there is ever an event in the Bible that proves that the hearts of people, without God's influence, are, indeed, "deceitful above all things and desperately wicked" (cf. Jer. 17:9) this is it.

Maybe if we ask ourselves some questions about this passage it may help us see how the Bible applies in our day.

Ques: Did you notice how all the men of the city reacted when Lot suggested that their lustful desire to have sexual relationships with the angels was wicked? Their response wasn't very "tolerant" was it?

Ques: Have you thought how scary it is for a even "righteous man" (cf. 2 Pet. 2:7-8) to get so messed up in his heart that he would offer his daughters to these lust-crazed men?

Ques: Have you thought about how maybe some of the things we do make our testimony a joke to those around us like it was a joke to Lot's son-in-laws?

Ques: Have you thought about our lack of dedication to God has consequences that we never imagined in our wildest nightmares?
In Lot's case this meant that his own daughters got him drunk and...well...uh...you know!

I'm out.

Whoa! Sin does make you stupid! And it can start with something so small in our eyes. One mistake set up a future of wicked behavior for Lot and his relatives.

Something that can seem so small to us can slowely but surely detroy our lives. We need to live our lives being aware of that so it won't happen to us.

Also, can you please pray for me because I'm sick. I have been since Friday, that's why I wasn't at church. Hopefully I'm better by tomorrow so I can be at church, (:

I made up the 27th!!

Once again in the Bible God destroys a city because of its wickedness!! I bet Lots wife was blonde cause whenever you say dont look back you dont look back but no she has to look back anyway!

Pastor Lee seriously make a book of your endings they r like the highlight of the day!!

Our world has become so sufficated with the sinful, worldy, disgusting stuff that makes this world so bad!! We need to escape from sin. Because God is always watching us and God WILL judge you in heaven some day!!

WOAH that is so much awful going on at one time, i almost didnt get all of it!
Thats a big warning right there; Lots life was completely ruined do to such a little thing as something he let slip into his line of vision and as we see, it definitely grew to bigger and more sinful things.
Lot lost everything, starting with his reputation, even among his FAMILY. Do you realy want to become so brainwashed and controlled by sin that you are willing to sacrifice your family or put them in a way of it?
no thanks!
Not only here, but it leads to incest invloving him and his own daughters, lack of family trust, and total destruction!
That, in the eyes of Satan, is the picture perfect vision of what he wants to do to US! And it can start with what sees a tiny root of visual sin.
How scary, huh?
I should better guard myself in even the smallest ways so that Satan has no way to start a bud of destruction in me

WOW! There is no one that should disagree with the statement SIN MAKES YOU SOOOO INCREDIBILY STUPID!!! I dont even understand why when you are told not to do something such as look back, and you are told that you will be destoyed for it, but then you for some weird reason you still do it! WHAT...That has a name though and its called SIN! When you sin you will have to expect there will be consequences! And in this situation Lots wife was turned to salt! WOW WOW WUBZY!(sry its a show my brother watches!)Anyways When you are told not to look back in the sinful direction and you do you are way to close to sin and need to step back in the RIGHT direction, Gods way! All I really can say to the ending is GROSS! I cant say anymore...but sin makes you stupid especially many times in this passage! Its sin to even have that thought go into your head so be careful what you think because you do not want to start doing those sinful things and thoughts... And there is much more that you could say about this passage but who would even give their OWN daughters up to blah people and let them do whatever they want with them! That is so Stupid!!! Well this passage put a shiver down my spine! But basically just STAY AWAY FROM SIN AND DONT LOOK BACK AT IT!!! bye!

this passage was strange. why would Lot want to give up his daughters to anyone let alone to weird men. how could he be more afraid of sin that he was willing to give up his daughters. people do weird things to make themselves happy.

Sin will take you farther than you want to go, keep you longer than you want to stay, and cost more than you want to pay!

I've heard stories of people who started out with "white lies" and eventually it escalated into where a husband was cheating on his wife, lied to the bank, stole money and was headed to jail.

Sin makes you so stupid!! It's not worth it to give in to that little sin just that one time. Chances are that sin will escalate and you will regret it for the rest of your life.

I made up for yesterday, I hope it still counts, even though it is 12:50am on the 3rd. I haven't gone to bed yet, so technically we haven't started a new day/devotion

and I finished the devotion for the 24th on the 27th.

I enjoyed these passages they WERE like a R rated movie lol. To be quite frank, I find it gross that the two daughthers went to "lay" with there father and bore children from him! EWWWWWW And I completerly understand why God decided to bring down HIS wrath on Sodom and Gomoroa because they were being evil. But now lets think about our country, are we any better? NOOOOOOO We could possibly be worse that is why we need to step it up and live for God and do what is right. We can compare ourselves to somehting that happened yearsssssssss ago that is amazingggg!

peace out

I have a couple questions for Pastor Lee. First off though this passage shows that straight up God did it once and He'll do it again and America is a prime candidate. So Lot was involved with the rest of the city with all this sin and refused to show any kind of courage to show a love for God. Even still God is merciful to him and his daughters and wife. The saddest part to me is that it seems his daughters didn't learn anything. As soon as they get out of town they get their father drunk and engage in some pretty hefty incest. Now maybe I'm wrong but the Bible does say incest but I also know that sometimes it was necessary back then to perpetuate the line. So that's my main question for Pastor Lee. Is this last part wrong? Why didn't God want Lot's wife to turn back.

I’m disgusted who would go and Lay with there father even if it is to carry on the family generation and God told Lots wife don’t look back DONT LOOK BACK and what did she do she looked back but you know what I would have probably done no better and what really scares me are world now is 10 MILLION TIMES WORSE so we really need to turn to the LORD.
