WE NOW HAVE AT LEAST 40 PEOPLE GOING TO THE WILDS!!!!!! YEAH!!! THAT IS A RECORD FOR SUNCOAST YOUTH GROUP!!! I AM SO EXCITED!!

A Few Thoughts From Yesterday:
Cary, Phillip, Lucy: Good to see you on Facebook! :)
Bethany: Today is the Day!! I AM Praying that the answer is YES!!!
Tricia: Yes I was trying to call you! ANSWER YOUR PHONE! :)
Tyler: You are the man! Kervin is coming to the wilds! I got a check last night from His mom! I am so glad!
Kervin: You are going to have a blast!KAcey: Thanks for being the first to put prayer requests on the prayer blog!!
Alex: Good to see you on here man! Keep it up!
Mallory: Glad that you are safe!
Katie: Come to Bed! :) I Love You!

John 17:
1 Jesus spoke these words, lifted up His eyes to heaven, and said: “Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son, that Your Son also may glorify You,
2 as You have given Him authority over all flesh, that He should give eternal life to as many as You have given Him.
3 And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.
4 I have glorified You on the earth. I have finished the work which You have given Me to do.
5 And now, O Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was.

6 “I have manifested Your name to the men whom You have given Me out of the world. They were Yours, You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your word.
7 Now they have known that all things which You have given Me are from You.
8 For I have given to them the words which You have given Me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came forth from You; and they have believed that You sent Me.
9 “I pray for them. I do not pray for the world but for those whom You have given Me, for they are Yours.

Wow, This is great timing! Yesterday was the first day for our prayer blog, and today we see Jesus praying in this entire passage! So Christ has been hanging our with the disciples during the Last Supper for the last few weeks. We have been listening to all of the wise words that Jesus, God in the flesh, was giving to his followers. How amazing would it have been to be there at that moment!
Well, we can see a glimpse of that moment by reading this passage. In todays verses we see Jesus praying to God the Father. What does He say? First Jesus explains that the hour has come for Jesus to glorify the Father. Jesus is explaining that the time has come that he is about to be taken and crucified.
Jesus also explains that He is going to be crucified so that He can "give eternal life to the lost"

Next Jesus explains how to receive eternal life: "to know" and believe in God the father and His son Jesus Christ.
Clearly in verses 1-5 Jesus is praying that He will obey God the Father so that GOD can receive the glory.

We too must obey God soo that He can get the glory for doing incredible thins in our life! It is neat to think that just as Jesus was praying: "Father, I will do your will so that you will be glorified"; We too should be saying: "Father, We will do your will so that you will be glorified"!!!

Finally: the last few verses, Jesus is praying for the disciples who are right there with Him... Jesus says: "I pray for them"

How cool, Jesus prays for us also: just like I said last night in youth service: Jesus makes intercession to the faher on our behalf. We to should pray for others just like Jesus did.

Follow this link today and take a few more minutes to pray for each other: you can also post some of your own prayer requests if you would like.

Have a great day! Love, Pastor Lee

The steps are clear...verse 8 -
Jesus gave us the word of God.
We must receive them,
Know they come from God,
Believe the words of God,
Then Jesus will pray for us.
Wow! How blessed our lives are through the prayers of Jesus for us! And We get to use that prayer power daily! WooHoo!

Prayer is such an important thing! If there was no prayer, we wouldn't be able to talk to God. We wouldn't be able to ask for things, and give thanks to Him. It's really hard to imagine what it would be like without prayer. Prayer is also very powerful! We have the advantage to talk to God personally, so we should use that gift, (:

Just as Jesus did, we need to pray "Father, I will do your will so that you will be glorified", and we need to pray for others! In everything that we do, God should be glorified. Also we should pray for other people. Intercession, Jesus does it for us so we should do it for other people.

It's my first time doingdoyourdevo's.com and i REALLY liked it! what really spoke to me is how god actually prays for US!!
thats so cool! and that inspires me to pray for other people too, and that even though he knew he was about to be brucified, he STILL prayed for us, though we were the ones who crucified him.
it was a great idea for pastor lee to make online devotions, because teens can really get in the word, and grow in their walk with the lord, but at the same time do it in a way thats more fun, because who said getting in the word could'nt be fun? :)

:) ~Cassidy~ ;) said...

oops! i accidentally said brucified, i meant CRUCIFIED....

you can't quit something you never started lol pastor lee you really didn't help anything last night about that

pastor lee this is some deep stuff you're getting into lol

I AM DEFFINETLY GOING TO THE WILDS AS OF 3 MINUTES AGO AND I AM TOTALLY EXCTED!!!
but getting to the main point, this passage shows how importand prayer is for christians to be able t connect with god! it is amazing that not only does jesus pray to god but to us too...how important does that make you feel i mean really...wow.in this passage jesus prays to god and tell him that it is time for him to go back to heaven with god.he says he has glorified the earth through the will of god and that he told his disciples and believers what god had meant for him to say.and then he says that he prays for his believers and that now they are also gods believers.

That last verse blew my mind. Jesus says I pray for them, when He knows He is going to die a painful, agonizing death and yet He puts us before Him! Even when He is in pain on the cross, He could have called 10,000+ angels to destroy them all. Yet, if He saved His own life, ours would be lost right now. Talk about putting others before yourself!!!

I really like this passage. And it is perfect timing!

vs 9
“I pray for them. I do not pray for the world but for those whom You have given Me, for they are Yours.

Jesus interceds for us daily at God's right hand. Christ is so loving that He died on the cross for all our sins and we really are His!

Jesus prayed continuously on the day he was crucified that God's will would be done and that God would be glorified through all that was happening.

This WILDS verse comes to mind:

1 Corinthians 10:31
"Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the GLORY of God."

So this passage is cool. first we see that Jesus is praying to God saying Glorify your son. Then he says that he has finished the work that god has given him on earth to do.
I know this isn't a lot but I didn't really get much out of it! sÖrry!

& pastor lee i like the prayer blog, you have good ideas.
So, i pretty much had to read this five times before i understood something to talk about but thats okay (:
This is pretty neat to see that just as we are supposed to pray, Jesus did.
Actually, everything Jesus tells us to do He has done; how fair are we dealt?! We are overly dealt if were honest; we have no suffering or pain when we accept and live by God and His plans, and not only that, but we have the support of other Christians who pray for us and hopefully we pray for others as well.
Our duties are nothing compared to Jesus' and prayer is just another small thing makes a big difference.
I personally need to start praying more and praying for the right things and the prayer blog seems to e a good place to start.

WOO HOO KERVIN YOU MADE THE RIGHT CHOICE!!!!!YOUR GONNA LOVE THE WILDS!!!!!IT IS GOING TO BE THE BEST WEEK OF YOUR LIFE!!!!!

Jesus starts out by praying (which is what He does the whole passage) to God that He will glorify Him so that He could glorify God and to give eternal life to all the people that believe in Him. then Jesus says that He is going to finish His work on earth and He asks God for the glory He had in heaven with God. then Jesus says that He has kept God's word by keeping the men that God gave Him and that Jesus spoke to them about God and Himself and they believe so they are going to heaven. finally Jesus says "I Pray For Them" because You have given them to Me (WOW, how awsome would that be to hear Jesus say that He was praying for personally). so we need to pray just like Jesus did, and we can do it better now that pastor lee put up a prayer blog (thats so cool). so pray today.

Hey Tyler first of all I didn't make the choice to do anything the choice was made for me by my mom and pastor lee and second of all Pastor Lee said I could stay in my cabin all day if I wanted, and third of all the best week of my life was when I was born. Oh and Cary your not the only one.

I think it's an incredible thing that Jesus prays for us because Jesus can do anything He wants and if somebody with that much power and authority sacrificed his time to pray for us we should be thankful to the highest regard. I also think it's amazing how much Jesus loves God because if I did something myself I wouldn't want someone else to recieve the glory.

Yes, Tennessee is awesome everyone!!! KERVIN!!! yes, i knew sooner or later you would say yes to goig to the wilds...exactly what i did right @ the last second thanks to Pastor Lee for talking me into it!!! thanks im excited and cant wait to go when i get back!!!anyways...

I thought this passage was awesome because it really made me think about how Jesus was praying to God. It made me think about how God is the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.(all 3 in ONE!!!)THis was the hardest thing for me to understand at first. i thought about it hard though and it became easier for me to understand. I think its awesome how God is 3 in 1. This passage also says how Jesus is ready to leave the earth and how He has finished the work God had given Him to do.

Bye everyone see you guys in a week! go vols!

Sweet the wilds r going to be amazing this year! Represent suncoast! and [PN]! but im sorry Bethany for not coming to volleyball i promise the next time you go i will for sure unless something really important comes up.

Jesus knows that his time has come to die for all the people of the world and prays to God to glorify him. Jesus ask GOD to let him die so that he can give everyone the chance for eternal life in heaven. That shocks me that Jesus is about to die and all he can think about is us and for us not to suffer anymore. What a graceful God. Im so glad that Jesus died for us because if you think about it where would we be without him. We wouldn't even exist!

wow I am so bored right now that I feel like going to sleep. oh well to bad for me I got to do my devotions like a good christian soldier should.

Wow this just makes me think of witnessing to others like almost immedeatly after the first verse. So jesus told a bunch of people of god when he was here on earth and what have I done so far, witnessed to 1 person 1 ONE 1. If anything if I want to grow to be more christ like I need to witness more. Just like that one teenager that came up to me at walmart just to tell me about god I need to be spirited about my christian life.

Alright so I did my devos today, and I'm just about to go do yeaterdays so PL why don't you check that one out as well?

Anonymous said...

pastor lee i know i did not do my devos yesterday or today but i read the passages and thought about them it only becaus i have a friend over all week so i will make them all up toworow!!!!!!!

i went to the new blog it is pretty cool!!!!

today i am going to focus on verse 9. in verse 9 just like the rest of the passage we see jesus praying.i think it is amazing that god in the flesh is praying to his father FOR US!!!!!!!!!!!when i think about that it really makes me wonder why i forget to pray for other people because of my own sometimes selfish needs.wow i just relized that this is kinda what you talked about on wed. pastor lee.

well i am going to go do yesterdays and todays devos

The Wilds is gonna be AWESOME, I was there earlier this summer and people its gonna be AMAZING!! Its great that Kervin in coming!

That is so cool that Jesus prays for His disciples! I'm sure He prayed for us too!WOW, Jesus praying for us that is such a cool thought. Prayer is like the second thing that we can communicate with God. other than the Bible.

Hey Pastor Lee I'm gonna get Jacob Barnthouse to do His devotions! and maybe even Bethany I try my best. Maybe Jacob can be my second partner if everybody else has a partner.

Buffalo Wild Wings Reward Activity!! Thanks for being faithful!
