Hey guys, sorry for sounding a little demanding on tuesday's blog, and sorry for not posting yesterday. I have something to confess to everyone. Most of the time I think of posting these devotions like a chore, or a job, when it should be something fun, and to learn more about God's Word, not a job or chore. My purpose for posting these devos from now on will be with the open mind of "what new thing will I learn about God and how will I apply it to my life?" If this sounds familiar to yourself, which I hope not, just ask yourself that question everytime you read the passage.

Well onto 1 John 3

1 John 3

1 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.
4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
5 And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.
6 Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.
7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.
11 For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.
12 Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous.
13 Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you.

Wow this is defiently jam packed with God's truths in it!! Wow, why did I say that?! the WHOLE BIBLE HAS AWESOME TRUTHS IN IT!!! But this is like the gold in a safe of the bible! There are so many here I dont know where to start!

Verse 7 seems to catch my attention the most. People in our day and age are SO EASILY DECIEVED TO DO SOMETHING WHETHER GOOD OR BAD, but mostly bad. Like Christ said in the gospels, "...the road to destruction is wide and short." What it means is many people take that road, and it doesn't take long to get lost and destroy your life. Why do many people take that road? Because many are decieved into thinking it's the right way, and hey, its more fun. Sure its more fun, but is it the WISEST THING TO DO? Absolutely not.

Don't be decieved into the thinking of the world's philosophy! It will lead to destruction!

AHHHH!! This passage IS so 'jam packed'!!! I love it! :P
Verse 1, "Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not." This sounds sad to me for some reason...I dunno. But to me, it means something like God has poured out all His love to us, and we don't understand and appreciate just how much He has done for us. We know Him not. We really don't know Him if we do not get the concept of how much He has really sacrificed for us and how much He loves us. I love verse 5 as well - "And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin." This makes me feel a little guilty, actually.. and with good reason probably. God told Jesus to sacrifice His own life for us sinners, and He wondered why, but He did as God told Him anyway, and like Pastor Lee was telling me yesterday, since He had never sinned before, He was not forced to stay dead; He rose from the dead because He had been pure.
I like verse 6, too. "Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever hath not seen him, neither known him."
Those who are faithful to Him and believe in Him don't have the urge to sin like regular human beings, who naturally sin. Those who don't know the Lord, who don't have Him in their heart, don't care if they sin.
Verse 8 kind of bluntly states that the devil is the cause of sin, and anyone who sins is listening to the devil and not the Lord. It's an ongoing battle between the Lord and the devil and the Lord has GOT to win, He's just more powerful lol.
Jesus had to die for us so He could take away all our sins, and pay for them FOR us, so we wouldn't have to.
"Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God." That's pretty flat-out telling you as well. A person who truly has the Lord in their heart, not to say they will never sin, because people naturally make mistakes, but they will not WANT to sin. They will try to be righteous in the Lord.
Andddd then verse 11, "For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another." That is so true, the Bible constantly tells us to love our neighbors and even our enemies.
Well this was a pretty awesome passage, and yesterday's message was so inspiring to me I'm going to attempt to live by it, hopefully the Lord will help me to make the right decisions.

oooh I remember reading some parts of this from my Bible:) This is true: people in this day in age are indeed going astray due to many reasons, like the friends that they hang around with, what they watch on T.V. or maybe they are given false statement from their parents. Whatever the case, they don't realize that they can have true happiness from Jesus Christ. God loved us that much so he sent his only son to save us from our wicked ways..we are ALL sinners like verse 8 is stating. Everyones sins would all be forgiven if they would just believe! Where would we be without this kind of love? I would be lost out of my mind, how about you?
Verse 2 "Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is." Kind of reminds me when we get saved and baptized, because we're following The Lord every step of the way, getting in his word everyday, and becoming more faithful! :D
