Make sure you are at bigger and better tonight! (Michael was here)

Hebrews 13

1 Let brotherly love continue.
2 Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.
3 Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body.
4 Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.
5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
6 So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.
7 Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation.
8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.
9 Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein.
10 We have an altar, whereof they have no right to eat which serve the tabernacle.
11 For the bodies of those beasts, whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest for sin, are burned without the camp.
12 Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate.
13 Let us go forth therefore unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach.
14 For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come.
15 By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.
16 But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.
17 Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.
18 Pray for us: for we trust we have a good conscience, in all things willing to live honestly.
19 But I beseech you the rather to do this, that I may be restored to you the sooner.
20 Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,
21 Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
22 And I beseech you, brethren, suffer the word of exhortation: for I have written a letter unto you in few words.
23 Know ye that our brother Timothy is set at liberty; with whom, if he come shortly, I will see you.
24 Salute all them that have the rule over you, and all the saints. They of Italy salute you.
25 Grace be with you all. Amen.

This passage is filled with great infomation!

The first thing is verse 5, when it says the Lord will never leave you. Ever. Even though you may have left the Lord in your life, He won't leave you. Trust me, if He wanted to leave you, He would have called 10,000 angels to save Him from Calvary on the cross. You and me would have definetly been screwed if that happened.

Verse 6 is telling us not to fear man! Wow! There have been times where that happened to me, but the next day I was laughing about it! I really don't know why at the time, but really, WHAT CAN MAN DO TO YOU?! Yeah, maybe they could punch you in the face, but that will just be healed in a matter of weeks. The best thing to do so you don't EVEN HAVE TO CONSIDER FEARING SOMEONE, JUST BE FRIENDLY TO EVERYONE! If your friendly, man will most likely do the same to you!! Golden rule!!

The beginning of verses 7 and 17 are basically saying the same thing. Then why are they said twice? Uh, maybe because IT'S IMPORTANT! It says you need to obey those who have authority over you. That can mean your parents, your youth Pastor (: your teachers, or even the president of the U.S. All of them have more power they do, so don't get prideful, like Satan did, and go against them!!!

Remember, BE FRIENDLY, BE OBEDIENT, AND TELL YOURSELF GOD ALWAYS ALWAYS CARES FOR YOU!!!

See you tonight!

Let brotherly love continue... that is pretty easy to understand! Dont just be nice to someone one time, but love them, over and over... continuously!!!

I love verse 2 where it reminds us that some of us have entertained angels, and we did not even know it... that word entertain literally means: "shown hospitality to", so the Bible teaches that some of you have shown kindness to an Angel and you did not even know it!!

Verse 4 is great! Marriage is honorable! and what you do in bed with your HUSBAND OR WIFE!!!! is great! BUT THOSE WHO ABUSE GODS GIFT OF SEX WILL BE JUDGED!!

That is so clear... no if's and's or but's about it!!

Verse 5 is also clear: Be content with what God has given you... it is easy sometimes to see what others have and wish that it was yours... whether it be their sweet house, the cool car, or maybe their nice parents... God says that I have given you what you have for a reason...

This passage should have probably been broken down into like three days because it is SO FULL OF SO MUCH GREAT STUFF!!!!!

Thanks Mike!

my favorite part of this chapter was at the end of verse 5 when Jesus says that He will never leave us, nor forsake us. Michael is right, if Jesus wanted to leave us then He would have gotten His angels to take Him off the cross and just sent us to hell, but He didn't because He loves us and cares for us. if Jesus will never leave us then shouldn't we try to never leave Him.
