Hey Guys! Great Job Yesterday! Michael: You are amazing! I am so serious when I say that I could not have posted the devotions better than you did yesterday! Great Job! Way to go man!

It was really nice to see that it still happened even when I could not post the devotions! I read your comments and I thought they were great!

Alright: To answer your questions Michael:
some people do get saved and then they backslide... the Bible teaches us that once you get saved, you CANNOT lose that salvation... This means, If they truely did get saved then they WILL DEFINITELY be in Heaven. However, some people claim to have gotten saved, and then when it is no longer good for them, they go on living like they did before they claimed to be saved, and the Bible says: If there is no fruit, it makes you wonder if it is really a fruit tree...

Maybe someone called that tree a fruit tree when in all actuality it was not. You never know, if someone is truely a Christian or not,. but James tells us that the best way to find out is to see if their fruit matches their name: See if they really act like a follower of Christ, and that will show you if they really believe in Christ.

Ok, onto the devotions!

Hebrews 11... (BY THE WAY: I HAD TO MEMORIZE THIS CHAPTER IN COLLEGE!!!!)

21 By faith Jacob, when he was dying, blessed each of the sons of Joseph, and worshiped, leaning on the top of his staff.
22 By faith Joseph, when he was dying, made mention of the departure of the children of Israel, and gave instructions concerning his bones.

The Faith of Moses
23 By faith Moses, when he was born, was hidden three months by his parents, because they saw he was a beautiful child; and they were not afraid of the king’s command.
24 By faith Moses, when he became of age, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter,
25 choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin,
26 esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt; for he looked to the reward.
27 By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king; for he endured as seeing Him who is invisible.
28 By faith he kept the Passover and the sprinkling of blood, lest he who destroyed the firstborn should touch them.
29 By faith they passed through the Red Sea as by dry land, whereas the Egyptians, attempting to do so, were drowned.

By Faith They Overcame
30 By faith the walls of Jericho fell down after they were encircled for seven days.
31 By faith the harlot Rahab did not perish with those who did not believe, when she had received the spies with peace.
32 And what more shall I say? For the time would fail me to tell of Gideon and Barak and Samson and Jephthah, also of David and Samuel and the prophets:
33 who through faith subdued kingdoms, worked righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions,
34 quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, became valiant in battle, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.
35 Women received their dead raised to life again. Others were tortured, not accepting deliverance, that they might obtain a better resurrection.
36 Still others had trial of mockings and scourgings, yes, and of chains and imprisonment.
37 They were stoned, they were sawn in two, were tempted,[f] were slain with the sword. They wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins, being destitute, afflicted, tormented—
38 of whom the world was not worthy. They wandered in deserts and mountains, in dens and caves of the earth.
39 And all these, having obtained a good testimony through faith, did not receive the promise,
40 God having provided something better for us, that they should not be made perfect apart from us.

This is some GREAT stuff!!!! Look at all of the AMAZING THINGS that every single one of these people were able to accomplish!!! And how were they able to do it?? BY FAITH!!!!!!!

They had faith in God. They believed God, they believed Gods word, They believed Gods promises, and on and on it goes!!! THEY BELIEVED THAT WITH GOD... NOTHING WAS IMPOSSIBLE!!!

Can you imagine having faith like that... with that Kind of faith, these people were able to walk through a sea on dry land, they were able to knock down the walls of cities with a trumpet!!! Imagine what you could do if you had faith like that!!! Imagine how great your victories could be if you Had a faith like that!! That would be wonderful!!!!!!

HAVE FAITH!!!!!!!!!!!!

Definetly have faith, and this is just a continuation from yesterday. PL, you actually had to memorize this chapter word for word?! There are many big words!

Off track. Having faith will get you though any of life's problems and please God. But I do have another question. When Jesus said that having enough faith, you can move a mountain, is that figurative, or literal? I have heard many statements about this one, and I am confused.

Wow, Verse 25 really stuck out to me, that's true devotion and loyalty to God right there. 'choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin, 26) esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt; for he looked to the reward.' These are great verses in my opinion. They talk about how Moses would rather suffer serving God than to enjoy pleasures and sin against God. He stood up for what he believed in and that's so important. He knows that Christ's 'riches' are greater than any treasure that Egypt, or any place for that matter, could have given him. I wish people would understand that in today's society. Even me, I've been getting busier and busier in my life and I want to expose myself to God's word, I want to find some time to worship, which is why I do devotions when I can. 36-40 I guess is saying that the people who don't believe in the Lord are tortured or punished for their sins, having to wander in nasty environments like the desert and caves. "God having provided something better for us, that they should not be made perfect apart from us." - To me, Verse 40 is saying that we don't have to live like that, God has something better in store for those who believe. Sinners will not be noted as perfect, and they will not be able to have that better place. By simply having faith in God, you can do amazing things. Like I said in Tuesday's devotion, God performs miracles. Anything is possible if you just have faith in Him.
