Hey Guys! I hope you had a great day yesterday! I am glad you are on these devotions!!!

Victoria: I AM SO GLAD YOU CAME ON HERE!!!!! I AM EXCITED ABOUT SEEING YOU GET MORE INVOLVED!! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!
Michael: Those were some great thoughts about pride! By the way: The reason Satan hates us so much is because He Hates God, and he wants to break Gods heart by leading us away from the Lord... doesnt that make sense?

Alright, onto 2nd PETER

1 Simon Peter, a bondservant and apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who have obtained like precious faith with us by the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ:
2 Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord,
3 as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue,
4 by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

Fruitful Growth in the Faith
5 But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge,
6 to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness,
7 to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love.
8 For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
9 For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins.
10 Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble;
11 for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

This is a little deep but very important! I heard a great message on verses 5,6,and 7 one time. It was all about how if we are going to be Godly then we must grow Godly. The way that we grow Godly is by following these steps! First we must DILIGENTLY ADD TO OUR FAITH!!!! What are we to add you might ask? We are to add Virtue! What are we to add to our virtue?? KNOWLEDGE! We must seek to know God and to know His word!! To knowledge we must add self control! If we are going to be Godly then we must control our self!! As the Bible puts it: We must die to ourself! then to self control perserverance! Then you will have Godliness!!!! If you grow in Godliness then you will also grow in kindness and love!

This is like a recepie! I made some delicious betterscotch oatmeal cookies last week, and the trick to make them taste DELICIOUS is to FOLLOW THE RECIPIE!!!!! I believe it goes the same way with the method of becoming Godly! If you want to be Godly then simply follow the recipie listed above with Fervency and persistence!!

Um Lee I know you get excited about recipes and all but 5 exclamation marks at once! Wow! I hope you were shouting at your computer screen. Anywho I opened up to this one because I like reading straight from the word rather than staring at a screen sometimes. I am getting sick of computers. Anyway, So yes definitely verses 5-7 grabbed at me best although the first 4 verses remind us of the the amazing grace bestowed on us.
On to the meat of this thing. Well look at the title "Fruitful Growth in Faith" Many times we look at ourselves and wonder why we don't always see fruit or maybe we get down on ourselves because we aren't growing as much as we should be or see others not being fruitful. Peter makes this crystal clear. If you want to grow and bear fruit here's how to do it.
Step 1) Have Faith! Our faith has to outweigh everything, problems, doubt, temptation, worry, sin, peers. When Satan attacks rely solely on your faith in God to protect you.
Step2) Add Virtue to your faith- Here you have built up some faith and now act on it. Show others your commitment to faith. We have to be loving, kind, passionate but also resolute in our beliefs showing no compromise. FIRE!
Step3) Build knowledge upon our virtue- So we have faith we have begun to act on our faith and do what is right. Now to continue to grow we need milk-God's word. It is hard to find time to read sometimes right? For me it is. I have one thousand other things I could be doing mostly but to be fruitful we have to KNOW what Jesus said and KNOW what to say to others when we are questioned about why we do what we do and understand the infinitesimal part of God's will that we can.
Step 4)To knowledge we add self -control- ohhh this is a hard one see these steps get progressively more in depth. Here we need to be steadfast about everything we have done and committed to. control our flesh, control our work ethic, control. Like Yoda says "Control, control! you must learn control!"
Which is weird because this statement is not backwards and Yoda usually speaks backwards hmmm. The last two steps I'll sum into one step in two stages
Step5)a)We must add love beggining wiht brotherly kindness.
b) To this we add love, I added these together because the way I see it first we need to learn love of the brotherhood. Compassion for friends that can hold you accountable. Then we can add begin to think about love of all when we are bolstered in our faith by getting ourselves surrounded, and loving on Godly friends. This was a long one but It helped me a lot and I wrote this more for me than anyone.
Let me know what you think though

Yeah, McCue that was funny. I could definetly see PL yelling at his computer screen with excitment about recipes! And Yoda says?! Amazing stuff, McCue. You practically wrote a book today! But not all books are bad! (:

Virtue=knowledge? It that is correct, then Virtue is power. Have you ever head that knowledge is power? Well, that is definetly true! You can see it in yourself if you are smart, not according to yourself, but according to others. For example, if you are lost in a forrest or a desert or anywhere where there aren't people present, and if it is the morning, and without a compass, you know that the sun rises in the east and since it just rose, that direction where the sun is NOW, you can know it is east. You had the power to get yourself out of there by knowing the sun was in the east. Knowledge is certainly power! There are more knoledgeable things than others, like knowing God's Word off the back of your hand, like Pastor Lee (: than knowing how to deal drugs. All the same, knowledge is powerful!

You will not believe my excitement!!!!! I didn't have to type it again!!!! YES!!!!!!!! Satan cannot delete my comments anymore, because I am too smart f- I mean, God gave me the smartness so I could outsmart Satan!!

hey people !!! =]

well what i get out of this message is that if we want to be godly and an example to the rest of the world we need to get as close to God as possible. we need to grow in him and be able to show others how and why they should follow him too.

wow i really like this passage it really cant make it much clearer because it lists it to you right there in verse 5,6, and 7 what we need to do to be Godly. Not much more i can add. I will definitely try an think of this passage more often and correct myself if i do something wrong or ungodly. I also liked verse 10 where it said if we do all the things in verse 5,6, and 7 then we will never stumble!

5 But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge,
6 to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness,
7 to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love.
