Hey Everyone! I hope you have a wonderful Saturday! It will be even better now that you have done your devotions!! Alright, well let's get to it!

II Peter 3
(The promises of God)

1 Beloved, I now write to you this second epistle (in both of which I stir up your pure minds by way of reminder),
2 that you may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us, the apostles of the Lord and Savior,
3 knowing this first: that scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts,
4 and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.”
5 For this they willfully forget: that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of water and in the water,
6 by which the world that then existed perished, being flooded with water.
7 But the heavens and the earth which are now preserved by the same word, are reserved for fire until the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
8 But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.

Wow, at first it took a second for me to get into this passage but by the time I got to the end, this was definitely one of my favorite... Here is what it is saying: Jesus left and told us that He will come back again someday... Well, there are many unbelievers and mockers who say... YEAH RIGHT!! He is not coming back!! All of those old people in the Bible are dead and their not coming back... Have you ever heard someone say that? Whether on TV or at school or something like that? There are scoffers everywhere... Well the end of this passage explains something to us in a GREAT WAY!!!

Do you ever sit around and think to yourself... come on, He said He was coming back in a "short time" and it has been 2,000 years!!! What kind of short time is that?!?!

Well, did you read verse 8? " Dont forget this: A Day for God is like 1,000 days for us!!"
That literally means that God has only been gone for a short time from his perspective, only like 2 days!! WOW!! That is so great!!

The end of this passage reminds us, THE LORD IS NOT SLACK CONCERNING HIS PROMISES!!! in other words, he will not break his promises! He will come through on everything that he ever promises us!! WHAT A GREAT PASSAGE!!!

I AM SOOOOOOOO thankful for Gods longsuffering in my life... He is willing to forgive me over and over and over and over!!!! Thank you Lord for you Mercy!!

Yeah, absolutely by the time I was through with this passage I was like, yea man. That's what I'm talking about. lol The reason being that a whole slew of people will deny Christ returning. It's been forever like Lee said and he said a short time. The end of verse 9 is powerful and demonstrates the crazy amount of love God has for us. God keeps watching down and seeing the kind of corruptions spreading, the kind of sin that befell Sodom and Gomorrah or Noah's age. Verse 9 says "...but is LONGSUFFERING toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all come to repentance." How amazing is that. Our Father wants us to get the job done and he is sitting patiently having to watch us dishonor him because he wants to make sure we all have a chance at salvation. Love is longsuffering and the word reminds me that I need to display that same kind of love to others.
Sweet?....Sweet.
I don't have my phone, so if you want to do something today Lee or anyone else (BUFFALO WILD WINGS MAYBE!?!?!?!) you've got to message me on facebook or something maybe AIM.

that's so crazy how 1000 years for us is only 1 day for God, and i'm always thinking to myself that I hope I can be alive when Jesus comes back to the earth, but after reading this i'm thinking that I will probably be dead by the time Jesus comes back...but hopefully not. it's sad that people all over the world are mocking Jesus and think that He is a joke, but one day they will know that He is truly our savior, but hopefully we can get them saved so they can know about Him in the good way (on earth) and not let them find out in the bad way (in hell).

I never really thought of it that way. I thought of it as when Christ said he wouldn't be long until he came back, its been 2,000 years, however compare that to eternity and that is kinda like only two days!! Its like a math problem that can be thought of or solved in 2 different ways, and still get the same answer!

These are such cool verses because it shows the plethora amount of love that the Lord has for us and to forgive us so many times. It's such a blessing! Especially in this day in age when people tend to get off track (in other words, not getting in the word of God and believening different things) but I pray and pray that they will love thier lord and savior and get in the word as soon as possible and get saved.
I didn't realize that 2,000 years is 2 days to God. Wow!
