Hey Guys! Sorry about yesterday! It was a little bit of a weird day and before I knew it the day was over and nothing was posted! Well, lets get down to business!!
Hebrews 3
7 Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice,
8 Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness:
9 When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years.
10 Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do alway err in their heart; and they have not known my ways.
11 So I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest.)
12 Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.
13 But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.
14 For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;
15 While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation.
16 For some, when they had heard, did provoke: howbeit not all that came out of Egypt by Moses.
17 But with whom was he grieved forty years? was it not with them that had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness?
18 And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not?
19 So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.
This passage is clear! WE MUST NOT HARDEN OUR HEARTS~! How do we get to the point where we let our heart get hard? Our Heart gets hard when we do not obey or listen to the voice of God. Basically, when we dont believe!!
Put it this way: If you really believed that your house was burning down, you would stop watching TV and run out!! If you really truly believed that your plane was going to crash, you would NOT get on it...
The truth is that if we TRULY believe that God is our creator and ruler and we are created to live our lives for His glory... then we would strive for that... For to often the proof of our actions says that we just really dont believe like we say we do...
They say the proof is in the pudding, well James says: the proof of your salvation is in the fruit of your actions... so you better ask yourself... Do you really believe? Do your actions show it?

well it is clear from this passage that we shouldn't harden our hearts. our hearts get hardened when we disobey God, don't listen to God, and when we don't believe in God. the easiest way for us to not harden our hearts is to follow God and obey Him. we should do our best to listen to God and to praise Him so our hearts wont be hardened.
A hardened heart usually does not get that way quickly--as in frozen food. It begins by letting other things get between us and God. For example, by not reading and staying in His Word, by skipping church once now and then again in two weeks, and soon other things have taken up that time in our lives. If it were a sudden thing, we would notice it and have our guard up but Satan lures us away gradually and then we've been gone so long that when we realize it, we're almost ashamed to come back, etc. It is always easier to see it in someone else's life than it is in our own. Prov. 3:5-6 "Trust in the Lord with ALL thine heart and lean not unto THINE OWN UNDERSTANDING. In ALL thy ways, acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy paths.
Sorry for the length of this.

what this passage is kinda telling me is that we should try to stand up and resist tempation. that is really what kinda sticks out to me. it really sticks out to me in the beginning of the passage.
"7 Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice,
8 Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness:
9 When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years."
These are some passages you won't want to forget. It is telling us that we should never harden our hearts, in other words, we should never stop believeing God's word. We need to be in his word everyday and not to be tempted to go astray. We should listen to his word and follow everything that he does, and our hearts will never be hardened.
The only thing I'm confused about is when God hardens hearts of the lost people who know He is the right way, why does he harden their heart? Like back when Moses wanted Pharoah to release Israel, God hardened Pharoah's heart. Why? Is it because it was a way to show God's glory?
I think this portion of Scripture really drives home the message of just believing in God and listening to Him and trusting nothing else. It talks about hardening your hearts through giving into temptation, I also feel that it talks about fellowship and faith. I think that it starts to talk about fellowship and how important it is to urge others to read The Word of God in Verse 13. In Verse 14 I believe that it says that we are all part of God if we just hold our faith in Him until this very end.

so i guess having a hardened heart isnt good for anything, it makes you stubborn, and stuff like that. i mean sure theres millions of temptations around us but thats life and we have to learn from it. it really scares me when people saw god is made up. i mean how do they think they got where they are now, hoe do they know how the world started!?? idkk people are confusing
YAY MICHAEL SAXTON POSTED!!! I LOVE YOU MICHAEL SAXTON!
Anyway, It's funny how a lot of the old testament reminds us that God's word is there and it really does help us, really does heal, and nourish us. We just have to reach out and soften our hearts. It is almost human nature to be defensive when we feel conviction or temptation. We will justify, or defend all so that our "dignity" isn't tarnished or we won't be wrong. Well when I feel hardness of heart I stop, think about it and try to realize that Jesus would really have accepted this. The best thing is to accept the truths and soften our hearts to His will as hard as that is sometimes. Sin WILL make fools out of us it acts as a gateway through which Satan can influence our mind and deprive us of the Wisdom God gives us. We can't let it harden our hearts.!

wow this is an interesting passage. it pretty much states how we shouldn't be lazing around sitting on our butts and just saying that we're christians, but that we get up and prove through our actions that we are who we say we are. For example go out and witness or stop disrespecting your parents and cussing them out just because they told you to do the dishes while you were on the phone with a friend. We as christians should live a life that will make people go WOW I don't know what that guy has thats making him so happy, but I want some. If we don't prove our love of god through our actions it would just be like slapping god in the face and then telling him you love him right after over and over again.
Oh well thats all i have to say for today sorry i have not been on in like forever, and i will try to get back into my devotions on a daily basis.
BYE-BEE!
