It is a Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood!!
I am thankful that you are doing your devo's today!!

A Few Thoughts From Yesterday:
Lucy and Jessica: Have fun at Word of Life Camp! I am excited that you will both be going to camp with us next year!!
McCue: We are so excited for you to come HOME!!! I hope you are having a great time! I must tell you, I am very dissapointed that your finals are when we are at camp... so I cannot go to the movies and watch them. Sad for Me!
Tricia: I already paid for you so we have to work something out :(
Michael: Glad you are on here man! Are you excited about camp?
Rachel: Glad you are back! I was worried there for a little bit! :) (not really! I knew there must have been a good reason!)
Bethany: We missed you Sunday! Did you have a good time in Fort Myers?
Kervin: Bedding: Sleeping Bag OR Sheets (a fitted sheet and a regular sheet will be fine) and a Pillow. #2 Very Good Question: We will not be unloading the trailer at my parents house, so If you want a shower or new clothes pull them out before you load your suit case. We will not be changing after the morning service because we are driving straight to Trinity for the evening service! :) #3: That is plenty of money for you and me!! :)
Jon Massey: What is going on man! We have missed you guys! You and your sis were part of the "most faithful"!! Let's just say: We missed you! TELL YOUR SISTER TO DO HER DEVOS!!!!!!
Tyler: Very Good Job Describing the passage! I am going to have you do the devotional blog whenever I cannot. You explained it VERY WELL!!!!

John 18
39 “But you have a custom that I should release someone to you at the Passover. Do you therefore want me to release to you the King of the Jews?”
40 Then they all cried again, saying, “Not this Man, but Barabbas!” Now Barabbas was a robber.

John 19
1 So then Pilate took Jesus and scourged Him.
2 And the soldiers twisted a crown of thorns and put it on His head, and they put on Him a purple robe.
3 Then they said, “Hail, King of the Jews!” And they struck Him with their hands.
4 Pilate then went out again, and said to them, “Behold, I am bringing Him out to you, that you may know that I find no fault in Him.”
Pilate’s Decision
5 Then Jesus came out, wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe. And Pilate said to them, “Behold the Man!”
6 Therefore, when the chief priests and officers saw Him, they cried out, saying, “Crucify Him, crucify Him!” Pilate said to them, “You take Him and crucify Him, for I find no fault in Him.”

Here begins the crucifixion process. The process that Christ chose to endure so that we could be forgiven and allowed into God's Holy Heaven. It is a shame that this story can sometimes seem trite, or lacking in effectiveness because of it's repetitiveness. But when we read the story, visualizing Christ as He is struck in the face, imagining the crown of thorns being "Twisted" on His head, and then reminding ourselves that Christ went through this because of His love for us.

If Jesus Christ did not "endure the cross" then we would have no hope. Yet Christ came and died for the World who so often HATES HIM! (Did you notice they let Barabas, a thief, go free because they wanted to see Christ crucified) What an amazing Love Christ has for you and me!!! I don't know about you but I cannot comprehend it completely! I do know that I am so thankful for His love and for His sacrifice.

And I do know that I want to live my life so that no one could ever look at me and think that His sacrifice was in vain. I want people to see the difference that Christ and his loving sacrifice for me has made in my life!

As we study this wonderful/ heartbreaking story of the crucifixion try to look at it through fresh eyes. Look for things that you have not seen or thought of before. If we can grasp what Christ was willing to do for us during this time, then I believe we will have no greater motivation that to live for Him with all our hearts!!

It is amazing that Christ died for us, not in a quick manner, but hours of longsuffering. Sometimes I wonder... do we even have a clue at how great His love for us really is? I mean look at the pain he went through... first a crown of thorns, second, a wipping all the way to that skull hill thing, not to mention he carried a cross that weighed twice as much as himself, third, nails going through His wrists and legs (that part gives me the goosbumbs) and hanging there for hours. Since we have human minds we may not really know how great His love really is.

this passae talks about the process of jesus being crucified.the soldiers found ways to make Jesus seem proposterous like with the crown of thorns then beating him after saying"hail the king of jews". what i thought was ridiculous was that people could have let jesus go for passover but instead they let a theif be free, even when jesus had done nothing wrong.at least i found that pilate didnt crucify jesus because he believed in him.but pilate was right why should he be crucifying someone that did nothig wrong?

OHHH MISTER ROGERS. :)

AND I made up yesterday's deovs! :)

Around the time of Jesus, there were thousands others who were crucified as well. So than why do we remember only ONE of them?? I don't believe that all this other people paid for your sins. We are free from death and free to live.
Because He gave His life on the cross, anyone who believes in Him can have of a personal relationship with God. Jesus proved to be the only way to God and only through Jesus Christ can we have a meaningful and purposeful life.
You know what I think about sometimes, Jesus bore all our sins and all our sorrows soooo when someone goes through a tragic time like losing a loved one like a child, Christ knows how you feel because he felt it on the cross. But not only does he understand, but also he felt all the different kinds of pain, but all at one time. AND STILL laid down HIS life for us? Why? It is called greater love than any earthly person could ever give.

Not really very beautiful if you ask me, we were supposed to go to the beach and its raining on and off ):

So, i dont understand why He is crucified and beaten by Pilate if Pilate sees nothing wrong with Him..?
Was it like, a majority rules thing where so many people passionately hated Jesus and wanted him crucified that Pilate had to?

Anyways, im thinking of how all of the people who were wanting to kill Jesus fely after He rose again. Did their thoughts completely change? I bet just that changed the minds of a lot of people that were in disbelief. After Jesus died and He returned, i bet many more people believed in Him and what He said.
Like even today, people like to have proof of the sometimes hard to believe things and now days its harder to prove the truth of Jesus because He seemingly keeps getting less real to the world from all of the sin.
But, realizing wow HE really died for me!
and really thinking about it, theres proof already.
Its pretty much the best worst thing that will ever happen (:

I wonder if that purple robe was a symboyl of something. I haven't been on because i forgot. Kervin is not a very good partner. He sometimes does them without me knowing.

I would rather have jesus on the cross not because they think he is bad because he died for our sins. If the other guy died what would he have died for himself certantly not for everyones sins.

I think it is unbelievable how Pilot could let this happen. if he believed that Jesus was inoccent and had commited no crime he shouldnt have let him be crussified. i think it is crazy that the people would want barabbus to be set free when Jesus was innoccent and barrabus wasnt. it blows my mind to think about all the hate the people had towards Jesus when all he haddone is healed the sick, rose the dead and preached. it makes me angry just thinking about how mean they all where towards Jesus with the crown of thorns and the slapps. even though all of these things were horrible Jesus went on with it and he died on the cross for our sins. wow talk about love JESUS LOVES US...

OHH MISTER ROGERS where does she come up with these things?????
Ok so Pilate doesnt want to crucify Jesus but the people are wanting Jesus to die when i doesnt make sense that Jesus the man who has done nothing but help the people they want him dead but the guy who is a thief and a murderer they want him alive how stupid can you be but the it was Gods plan and the cool thing is Jesus could have wiped everyone out in a heartbeat but he decided not to because he loves us and thats amazing and this is like say you backed out in your car and hit someone they could come out at you and be so mad and you can decied to make the situation worse by start yelling at him back or you could stay calm and apoligize and that will probably calm the other person down beacause how could they figjt with you if your not fighting back so thats why it reminded me that Jesus stayed calm in that situation so it would turn out for the better.
I cant wait to see you all tomarrow be there or be triangle.

this starts out by pilate saying to the Jews that it is a custom for you to let one prisoner go during the passover. so he asks them if they are going to release Jesus but they said no release barabbas and barabbas was a robber and Jesus had done nothing wrong but they still wanted barabbas (which is crazy). so after that the guards took off Jesus clothes and put a crown of thorns on His head and a purple robe on His back. then the guards said "Hail King of the Jews" and smacked Him (probably in the face). then pilate goes out to the croud and shows Jesus to them but pilate still says to them that he finds no fault in Him, because there is no fault Jesus is perfect. so when He goes out into the croud they all start chanting "Crucify Him Crucify Him", so pilate said for them to crucify Jesus even though he found no fault in Him. WOW, He did all that just because He loves us, thats incredible. i dont think i would have been able to do that for someone i loved. so we need to be thankful for everything Jesus has gone through for us and not take it for granted.

Wow ok this is kinda bad but Jesus did for us and it was painful. Jesus took all this pain for us. when its talking about putting the crown on his head it doesn't say that they just place it on it says it was twisted on his head. I don't know if you ever felt one of those crowns and how sharp the barbs are but they hurt!!! The mock and made fun of him by saying Hail the king of the jews and hit him in the face. What bullies I wish I wish i lived back then I would kung fu all those people hitting him. They didn't realize that he really is the king of the Jews and what he was going to do for everyone!! He was going to die for all of our sin. The one guy Pilate still could not believe why they were doing this there was nothing he did wrong and they were killing him.

hey thhis was a great passage!! :) i think that pilate should have not decided to crucify him because he even said he was without guilt. i gtg. see ya!! :-)

Pilate is just a weird guy.He wanting to crucify a man that has done miracle after miracle for the people of the city. But Jesus was born to be crucified. It wasnt because of us He died but because He was born to die for the lost in the world. this passage is great.

Wow! I can not believe that they wanted a robber to be free, and Jesus, a perfect person who did nothing but help them, to be killed in the worst possible way! But I'm thankful that these people are completely stupid, or else I wouldn't have the opportunity to be going to Heaven, (: All this torture and pain was in God's plan. I am in awe of how amazing God is! I can't even imagine giving up my son (when I have one) to die for people that hate me. Jesus could have said no about dying for us, but because He loves us so much, He did it! I'm so thankful that we serve an amazing God, :D
