Where was everyone yesterday? Stay strong as we finish the book of John this week! I am so excited about the wilds. (Incase I have not told you)

Call someone who has slipped off the devotions and remind them to DO THEIR DEVOTIONS!!

LAST NIGHT WAS GREAT! REMEMBER: bring a separate bag with your tooth brush deoderant and one change of clothes for the first night in Jacksonville!!! We are going to have such a wonderful time!

John 20

1 Now the first day of the week Mary Magdalene went to the tomb early, while it was still dark, and saw that the stone had been taken away from the tomb.
2 Then she ran and came to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple, whom Jesus loved, and said to them, “They have taken away the Lord out of the tomb, and we do not know where they have laid Him.”
3 Peter therefore went out, and the other disciple, and were going to the tomb.
4 So they both ran together, and the other disciple outran Peter and came to the tomb first.
5 And he, stooping down and looking in, saw the linen cloths lying there; yet he did not go in.
6 Then Simon Peter came, following him, and went into the tomb; and he saw the linen cloths lying there,
7 and the handkerchief that had been around His head, not lying with the linen cloths, but folded together in a place by itself.
8 Then the other disciple, who came to the tomb first, went in also; and he saw and believed.
9 For as yet they did not know the Scripture, that He must rise again from the dead.
10 Then the disciples went away again to their own homes.

Mary Magdalene Sees the Risen Lord
11 But Mary stood outside by the tomb weeping, and as she wept she stooped down and looked into the tomb.
12 And she saw two angels in white sitting, one at the head and the other at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain.
13 Then they said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping?” She said to them, “Because they have taken away my Lord, and I do not know where they have laid Him.”
14 Now when she had said this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, and did not know that it was Jesus.
15 Jesus said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking?” She, supposing Him to be the gardener, said to Him, “Sir, if You have carried Him away, tell me where You have laid Him, and I will take Him away.”
16 Jesus said to her, “Mary!” She turned and said to Him, “Rabboni!” (which is to say, Teacher).
17 Jesus said to her, “Do not cling to Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father; but go to My brethren and say to them, ‘I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God.’”
18 Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seen the Lord, and that He had spoken these things to her.

The Apostles Commissioned
19 Then, the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the midst, and said to them, “Peace be with you.”
20 When He had said this, He showed them His hands and His side. Then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord.
21 So Jesus said to them again, “Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.”
22 And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit.
23 If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained.”

Seeing and Believing
24 Now Thomas, called the Twin, one of the twelve, was not with them when Jesus came.
25 The other disciples therefore said to him, “We have seen the Lord.” So he said to them, “Unless I see in His hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and put my hand into His side, I will not believe.”
26 And after eight days His disciples were again inside, and Thomas with them. Jesus came, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, “Peace to you!”
27 Then He said to Thomas, “Reach your finger here, and look at My hands; and reach your hand here, and put it into My side. Do not be unbelieving, but believing.”
28 And Thomas answered and said to Him, “My Lord and my God!”
29 Jesus said to him, “Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

That You May Believe
30 And truly Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book;
31 but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.

Wow! This is such an incredible passage! I love this story. This is the account of the disciples and Christs closest followers as they find out that Jesus is not dead, but He is risen!!! I think we should read this chapter at easter. It was not difficult to understand today and that is refreshing! Lets go back to the top and adress thought by thought:

Mary is visiting the tomb of Jesus while it is still dark and when she sees the tomb and realizes that the stone has been moves she RUNS home to get the disciples!!! So Peter and another disciple run to the tomb where Jesus was laid. (I think it is funny that Peter was not a fast runner :) Well, not as fast as the other disciple)

They get to the tomb and saw and believed that Jesus' body had been taken from the tomb... It literally says: They did not know that Christ would be raised from the dead. (even though He told them He would raise his body up after 3 days)

Next we see Mary in the tomb and she is crying... Then there are two "angels" that ask her. Woman WHO DO YOU SEEK AND WHY DO YOU WEEP?? Ha! They were poets and they didn't even know it!! GET THIS: So, Mary turns and see's a man standing there are she thinks He is the gardener?!?! The man standing there is Jesus! When Mary called Him a gardener then Jesus called out her name: MARY! and she immediately knew who He was!

In verses 19 - 22 we see Jesus telling the disciples that just as God sent Him, Jesus was sending them to do the work of God. To share the Gospel with the lost!

Then we see Thomas: This is probably the most convicting part of this chapter: The disciples tell Thomas that Jesus had risen from the dead, and how did Thomas respond??? Well, they don't call Him doubting Thomas for nothing. He said, I DOUBT IT!! UNLESS I TOUCH THE HOLES IN HIS HANDS AND THE HOLE IN HIS SIDE I WILL NOT BELIEVE.

OFten times we will do this: God if you are really who you say you are then you will do this for me! We put our trust on God on terms that If He obeys us then we will believe! God tells Thomas that It is good that He believes but for those who believe without seeing Him, would be blessed for their FAITH!!!!!

Let's trust God! Just take Him at his word and trust Him! He has proven Himself over and over, we do not need to make Him prove anything else. Lets just place our faith in Him!!!

What Pastor Lee said in the second-to-last paragraph is how lost people, and lets face it, some Christians, think about not only God, but other things as well. Like most of our society says,"seeing is believing." Well that statement is completly untrue. 2 Corinthians 4:18 says, "The things we see now are here today gone tomorrow. But the things we can't see now will last forever." So we cannot see God standing in front of us now, but we still believe He is real, along with His Son, Jesus. If you doubting about God, read 2 Corinthians 4:18 to yourself, and get Satan's doubting sceams out of your head now.

WHOO HOO!!!

THE TOMB WAS FOUND EMPTY!! SWEET!!
One thing that really stood out to me was when Jesus says blessed are those who do not see but still believe. Meaning us, we have not seen the scars or the face of Christ or anything that had happened yet we still believe. And if we don't, we need to.

Christ died for Thomas and the rest of the world. When things have been going badly for me, when I have faced hardships and pain, HE has given me hope.
I think I have behaved similar to Thomas at times. I have gone through stages in my life when I questioned God. Jesus didn't have to appear to me and show me His wound, however. But He has showed Himself to me in many other ways.
Jesus has answered many prayers for me, maybe not in any miraculous way, but He has made me very much aware that He does exist. I find Jesus in my every day walk through life.

the thing I got out of this passage is that we dont need to see god to believe in him... we should just believe in him because if we are christians, we should see how he worked in our lives.

Ahh where to begin there is so much to talk about. So does anybody know who this other disciple is? Wow I can't believe peter if I was him I would have sprinted just to see if it was true, I swear he is so slow. Didn't jesus say that he would yet arise on the thrid day, but those silly disciples didn't pay attention again thats why they are bewildered that jesus is gone. Lucky Mary that is so cool to be the first one to see jesus after he has risen. Finally for Thomas, Why can't you believe without seeing, in todays world we don't see jesus yet we can believe with an unbreakable faith. I would have been doing all I can just to see jesus again.

So I guess what you could get out of this is by peters story 1: exercise 2: pay attention to jesus when he speaks to you. From mary do not cry if you can't see jesus because even though we don't see him right now he is always there with us throughout our day. The twin God does not disappoint so just believe in him and put your trust in him.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOo Wilds in 96 hours XX minutes and XX seconds if everything goes according to schedule. Lets make this trip the best one of our lives.

Wow! I am so "flipping" excited about the wilds. PN is going to be crazy! I hope that we are all on the same team so that we can PWN EVERY ELSE!!!
It is going to be fantabulous! I love you [PN] But even though i say it tlike every time on the devotions im still excited about it!!!!

So Jesus was crucifued but he did not stay that way after three days in the tomb he rose from the dead and thomas one of the twelve disciples didnt believe that Jesus wasnt dead. The other eleven saw him and believed that he hase risen from the tomb. thomas said he would not believe unless he saw it for himself and actually talked to him and felt him flesh. After eight days Jesus arrived to the disciples and walk in the house and siad peace out like how us gangsters say it today. How cool! he told thomas to brelieve that he wasalive and told him if he didnt believe him to come and feel my side so you can. Jesus died for us on the cross for our sins and he came back!!! thats awesome!!

What language is Rabboni?

Wow when the Angels were talking to Mary and said why are you weeping i wonder what she was thinking. When she turned around and saw Jesus there i can't believe she didn't reconize him.

What God wants from us is true faith and when God presents us with an opportunity to do good we should do it without even thinking about it twice. When God healed the lame, made the blind see,and walked on water He made it known that He could do anything so when He said He'd rise again the Apostles should have just been waiting for Jesus like any normal day.

Im so excited to be going to the WILDS now, I can't wait!!!

This passage is a really awesome one for Easter, but still is amazing to read now. Jesus is not dead for He is risen!!!

I see a lot that we sometimes dont trust God unless He proves to us that He's capable of helping us, and if we just obey His Word and do His Will then the blessings will overflow and God's amazing power is shown. God's power is proved over and over: look at everything around you, the tree outside, the sky, the ocean...Its all amazing handiwork and He even has the power to arise from the dead. He really did die and really did physically rise from the dead. Just thinking about all the amazing power that God has and graciously shares with us everyday gives me goosebumps.

Hmmm im so excited guys! Im getting my kitten tomorrow morning (:
His name is going to be Raja and we bought him a cute collar with a bell on it today. Hes nine weeks old and sooo cuteee. Im sad that i cant take him to the wilds with me. lol
But itll still be funnn (:

Okay, so verse 29 impacted me the most. It says that those who do not see, yet believe with blind faith are highly thought of for greater faith than those who insist on seeing for belief. I know when i was a lot younger iuse to doubt how these amazing stories ould be true. Like, who gets stuck in a big fish and comes out alive?
Theres different proof to those who are open to it. I remember just not letting doubt get in the way and waiting to see if Jesus could be relevant to me if i just went with the flow (His flow) and thats exactly how it worked.
I think Jesus was probabaly talking about us when He referred to those who believe without seeing and knew the plan was that everything would get harder. That makes us more responsible to enforce His truth like i should more often and remember to do so that those with doubt can see too.

WOW!!! All i can say is that this is very powerful and awesome and I am very THANKFUL that Jesus died on the cross and ROSE again!!!My dad and me were thinking about how cool it would have been to have seen Jesus reappear after his death! Just think you are friends with Jesus, who you have come to love and know, then HE dies on a cross for your sins and rises! It must have been a neat experience for all the disciples! I am so thankful for what HE did!

WILDS IS SOON AND I CANT WAIT!!!YES! and Pastor Lee i made up yesterdays devotions! I will see you all Sunday!! YEAH!

its crazy that mary and the desciples thought someone had taken Jesus. jesus told them that he would be crucified and would arise in three days. with knowing all that Jesus did in his life i would believe that he would arise. i dont know why the desciples didnt believe mary when she said Jesus has arisen. wow its amazing howJesus came back from the grave.

this was always my fav. thing about jesus' resurection, that the diciples cared so much about Christ, they were worried bout what happened 2 his physical body...

The angels & christ talkin 2mary & Jesus walking among every1! Kinda sad Thomas had 2 feel Chist 2 believe it was him...after all the wild things he's done, he even brought another guy back 2 life!

but Thomas is only human so i cant dawg on him much cuz sumtimes i do the same thing(not w/christ tho) Christ is SOOO right that those who believe w/o seeing will be blesse...& boy are WE!

we didnt have jesus standin infronta us 2 believe...we soley believe in him cuz we have FAITH in what we cant physically see (or touch as thomas did)
