Well, Well, Here we are again. I want to let each of you know how thankful I am and how Honored I am that you come on this blog to read the Word of God, and read a few of my thoughts and apply them to your life. Yesterday was a great day! All of your devotions were well thought out, and very applicable! Keep up the great work! See you Tonight! It will be CRAZY fun!

A Few Thoughts From Yesterday:
Brooke: You sure have been in a typative mood lately! Ha! Get it?? Typative... (talkative) ok, nm.
Tyler: Great Job on the devotions man! Those were some wise words!
Jill: Good question: It reminds me of when I was in High School, there were many many people who believed that Christ would come back in the year 2000. He didnt. Chreck out Matthew 25:13. It makes it clear that NO MAN know when Christ shall return!
Jessica: I am glad that you understand that God loves you more than YOUR DOG!!!!!!!!!!!!! unbelievable.
Jonathan: Ha! I hope that you dont really say that to your teacher!
Olivia: Hey girl! Good to see you! Yes we do this everyday, and it has become a great way for us to stay in touch and stay in the Word of God.

John 3:17-21
17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
18 “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
19 And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
20 For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed.
21 But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.”

This is such a great passage. God did not send Jesus into the world to condemn the world. Condemn means to judge or to rebuke. So Jesus did not come to judge us or to rebuke us. Jesus came to DIE for us. So many people want nothing to do with church, because they think that church just makes them feell bad for what they do. You have often heard me say that it is not Gods desire for us to feel bad: God simply wants us to experience that conviction to help us change. Jesus did not come to condemn, he came to love, and to show love by being the sacrifice for our sins.

We often think that we as christians have "some right" to judge people, or to condemn others. We Do Not! If Jesus, who had EVERY RIGHT to condemn, did not, then we have NO RIGHT to condemn others. We should do as Christ, and Love them to the truth!

Now... let me be clear, the Bible is clear that we are to hold our christian brethren accountable, and confront them in their sin, but we are not to think more highly of ourselves, and think lower of others because of what they are going through. We just need to confront them in love.

Now, on to the rest of the passage. I think it is so cool to read about the illustration of light and darkness. Have you ever noticed how it is so much easier to sin in the dark, than it is in the light? Weird Huh? Well, the reason is because we know what we are doing is wrong and we dont want people to see it! So we can hide it better in the dark.

That is why man loves Darkness more than light. However, we know that when we are in the light, we can see who we really are and adress it. We can change who we are if we can see who we are by the light.

One last thought. What is darkness...? The absense of light. Think about it. What is more powerful? Light? or Darkness? Light is, because where there is light, there is no darkness. When we have a flash light, it pushes out all the darkness.

When we have Christ, the light of the world, He pushes the darkenss out of our hearts as well!!

SO COOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What an awesome God we have! He sent Jesus Christ to earth for the sole purpose of providing salvation for us- even though we are just low life sinners! It would be easy to think that Jesus would come into this world to judge out wickedness, but He came to show us His sacrificial love on the cross-WOW!!!

The next part really jumped out at me. It says that men love darkness rather than light. I can understand that in our sin nature it is natural for us to do wrong things. The next part where it says that they that practice evil hate the light (truth). When I do wrong things, I am pretty much turning my back on everything that Christ teaches us. He came to earth to die for us, and evertime we sin it is like telling Christ we don't care about His sacrifice. Next time I am struggling with sin that is definitely what I am going to think about!

OKSNDVOINEapkmndfOPIEF!!!!!
So I love this passage for the imagery it gives to me about the nature of light and dark. So mostly we don't want our sin to be seen in society right? nobody wants the world to know they are a prostitute or a druggy, or a murderer unless they are a sociopath. Now these are all a little extreme but the same goes with all sin. We hope that God isnt watching when we sin because it will bring disgrace to his name. Yet we feel proud to be a servant of Christ when we do something righteous. I think sometimes that if you see a bully at school and you stick up for a kid he's bullying the bully will hate you at first It's the same when we get angry at somebody rebuking us or a friend trying to hold us accountable but usually we know what's right and what is wrong.
-I hope I'll see you all tonight but I have a rehearsal at the school tonight so I'm not sure.
-Pastor Lee and Youth group I miss you already pray that the Lord keeps me strong at Phantom Regiment, I think a couple of us are starting a bible study there so that could be awesome.
-peace, peace-

Well it doesnt take too much sense to realize that light and darkness are total opposites, and really, those are the only options given to live in, because darkness doesnt exist where light does.
If Jesus had not came as a sacrifice, and gave an alternative to a dark eternity, we would have no choice of our life destinations, and still we think its okay to turn off the lights every once and a while and mess with darkness as we wish. When we choose that darkness or turn off the light, we are turning off God and telling Him we would rather wallow in our darkness than be with Him in all that greatness He offers. NOT GOOD seeing as He sacrificed so much for us!
I think of how its light in the day and dark at night, and how most of the worst things happen at night, and during the day we put out our best side so that people get the 'better' impression of who we are. Sometimes we think when we turn the light back on, we can be our 'better selves' again. Wrong. Who you really are is determined by who you are in both lights, Which God sees both of! When we choose to play in the dark and get involved in dark things, we are forsaking everything sacrificed to give that light to us.
Application; to get rid of all the darkness we like to hide in, and fill ourselves with the light so we can can be a consistent and faithful Christian.

Hey guys!
God sent His Son into the world not to condemn us but to save us from the darkness which is in the world. He is our Light through the darkness. He is our flashlight in a cave. We love darkness (or sin) not light. But whenever we accept Christ we start to love the Light (God). Jesus could have condemned the world but He was perfect made by God and God decided for Him not to condemn the world. Just like what I said above about the flashlight in a cave He pushes out all of the darkness in our lives in this case our lives are the caves. We want to hide our sins in the darkness but God (being the light of the world) finds and knows all of our hidden sins that are in the darkness and shines them away with His great lightness in us.

Ok so this passage is talking about Jesus saying so the first verse is talking about that Jesus did not come to tell the world well you do drugs so your bad he came to save the world from their sins and die on the cross for them. Then Jesus goes on to say that if you are not saved then you are condemed and if you are saved then you are not condemed i cant explain it well but anyways Jesus says then that the light came in to the world and people were doing wicked things still and there bad works will be exposed BUT who ever does good works there works will be exposed and people will see that there works are done by God and we should be like that because then people will see that our works are different then everyone eleses and the might want that.

"Light of the world
You stepped down into darkness
Opened my eyes let me see
Beauty that made this heart adore You
Hope of a life spent with You"

It's a piece of here i am 2 worship(1of my fav. songs)

Everytime light & darkness is mentioned at church i think this song...

i understand the symbolism w/dark being sin & light bein the truth/Christ

It IS easier 2 do the wrong thing in the dark cuz ppl are less likely2c & when ur in the light ur being exposed & ur every move can b watched...

i like the way Rachael put it w/people being good durin the day & tryin 2 prove themselves & at night lettin loose"turnin off the light"

my mom says all the time that what dertermins who u are is what u do when NO ONE'S looking...like at a store 4ex. if there's cameras everywhere & security at every turn...ur not gonna steal anythin...but what would u do if there wasn't ANY cameras & NO ONE was in the ENTIRE store...would u take sumthin???

Anybody can do the right thing when sum1's watchin, but a person who's good &true 2 themselves will act the same when NO ONE'S around=]
VERSE 19]"men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil."--->People don't like the light cuz what they're doing is WRONG & they just don't wanna b told so, so anything that pushes them away they don't like(the flashlight pushin away darkness)

VERSE 20]Those who love the dark OBVIOUSLY hate the light cuz they know what they're doing's wrong & if they step in2the light, they're gonna b exposed& get that "slap on the hand"& they don't want that...

VERSE 21]he who's in the light does good things & isn't ashamed of what he/she's done...

On PL comment bout or"right" as christians 2judge people...i agree w/him...we HAVE NO RIGHT2go around judgin people just cuz we're Christians(its ok2hold eachother accountable) but no go around tellin every1 they're goin2hell4their sin...we don't need 2b like the people who do that & make other people HATE Christians...Jesus didn't judge(he was PERFECT)so we have NO right 2judge...

light is MUCH more powerful than darkness!!!It takes more strength/courage2b in the light(do the right thing) than 2 b in the darkness(sin)...

APPLICATION:live life like sum1's watchin even when no one's around...WWJD???<---that's how we should all live...WWJD...so cliche...but VERY powerfull=]

People always say I'll decide whether or not Jesus has any importance for me today, and then I’ll only obey what I feel like obeying when I feel like it." But not ONLY "people" do this but Christians as well. YES YES I know that Christians are people too but I mean that Christians aren’t perfect and think these things as well.
In these passages John is telling us that Christ did not come into our world so that he could just come and judge us and tell us off but that HE might save us and die for us! Yeah that’s right, Christ died for us! Amazing isn’t it?
Christ does not condemn people, John explains, but people condemn themselves because they turn inward and aren’t willing to trust anything outside themselves, including and especially God.
It seems like we back away from the light because we don’t want anybody to see who we really are.
It takes a special kind of faith to know that because God sent his son not to condemn, but to save, that what God is asking of us is not that we do the right thing at every moment of every day, because I can say that that is hard fo sho lol but rather that even when we have sinned, we open ourselves to God’s light so that people can see that we are living our lives for God and that God accepts that wonderful gift even though we fail and he fills in the holes with the grace of Jesus Christ.

i really enjoyed the message tonight pastor Lee.

i think this message is awesme. as it sais in vere 18 He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already i think this is so true. John has a great scence of words. how he put this made it really deep and knowledgable. we can learn so much from that one verse. i never really understood why my mom always sais the Truth will come out in the light untill i read this blog. i finally know why. i think because of this verse people think that good is bright and evil is dark. these verses were amazing my favorite book in the bible is most deffinatly John.
ok tak more tommorow.
Im rich lol. good times.

its basically saying dont judge others just treat them like god would like wwjd:what would jesus do! and yeah that is so true its so easy to do something in the dark because you dont think noone can see you but god can see everything he's like your own personal flashlight.

Just like I said yesterday GOd sent his son to die for us wow what an awesome God we have! Jesus being the light came into uor world to save us and show us the way. He came to destroy the darkness or change it to light. the darkness being sin by die for us. It also says the truth meaning Jesus is the truth asnd the only wway

Tylermon33 said...

what this is saying is that Jesus didn't come to the world to judge us or condemn us but He came to the world so we might become saved. notice how i said MIGHT because Jesus didn't come to the world to automatically let everyone into heaven, but don't get me wrong that would be nice, he came to the world so we could trust in Him and believe in Him so we could go to heaven. also it says that men love darkness more than light because men can do more dark (evil) things when it is dark instead of light. also the unsaved will always be in darkness until they accept Christ and become christians and then they will be in the light.

this is a good one
Jesus loves everyone no matter what they think say or do even if your not a christian Jesus loves you duhh or he wouldnt of died on the cross for our sins
God sent Jesus into this world so we could be saved and dont have to live in the darkness anymore Jesus is the light that guides us

alot of times we try to stay away from the light to try to make our sins less noticable because in the dark everything seems alright to do because noone can see you but really the only person that matters is the only one who can see you
ond judging oh man i can say that i have a lil problem with this and im sure everyone does if there is a christian who i know is living in sin i think of myself as a better person than them which is wrong i know but its just human i guess and there has been times when a christian friend of mine was living in some sin and i confronted this person about it and it really didnt seem to matter to them so and that when i started thinking that i was better than them so i guess i can say that i need to work on this lol

The passage tells us that god sent his son not to cause the world harm but to offer it a solution to death. The passage says that the only way to heaven is to believe in the son.

App: I think that this passage has alot of meanings but for me it makes me think that i should remember the next time i so something bad who is causing me to do that and when i make the choice to do that im really choosing to follow satan rather to follow god. As to the whole men love darkeness thingy i thought about like a burgular and he wouldnt normally rob a house in the middle of the day but rather at night so that kinda applys to the passage.

Wow I am such a slacker on my devos. oh well here i go. So jesus came to us and is the light. The people who believe in him flock to him, but those that don't believe turn away from him because they don't want to feel guilty of their exposed sins.
Short but I'm rushing to go to a grad party.

It annoys me when I hear people saying that the people of the church offended them because they confronted them about their sin. It says in the Bible that as brothers and sisters in Christ, we are supposed to do that! Just as Pastor Lee said, not in a ‘I’m better than you’ manner, but in a loving one. That’s the one that gets through to them! Also, we should not judge other people. I have a hard time with that one. But that problem is getting better, (: Also, we need to make sure that we are in the light (God‘s will). It’s either that or the darkness (Satan). There is no dimmer in this situation. We either need to be in the light or dark.
