Hello, Wonderful People! How are you doing on this fine day? I hope that all is well with you and your family. I think it is pretty grand that we have had a visitor in Japan. (thanks to my sister Amanda) My Sister told her friend in Japan to go check out our devotional blog and she did, and now we have other countries on our blog. Do you know anyone out of the country that you could get to check out our blog?

A Few Thoughts From Yesterday:
McCue: That would be awesome if you guys started a Bible study, I think it could really help you be a "light" to the regiment!
Rachel: Wow! Powerful stuff: "we like to turn off the lights every once in a while so we can mess with darkness as we wish" Great point!
Amy: We miss you two! When will you be home?
Brooke: Good stuff girl! I agree with you! One thing also: It is ok to tell people that they will go to Hell if they do not accept Christ, BUT- You must tell them with Love, not with condemnation. And USUALLY it helps to have a relationship with them before you tell them, but everyone needs to know the truth.
Jessica: Yeah, it is "hard fo sho"! You are too funny!
Ryan: Hey man! Thanks for the encouragement! And if you are so "rich" then buy me a car! lol
Sarah: Good to see you girl! I think that they will email you your password if you click "forgot password" on the main page.

GO READ WHAT I SAID BEFORE YOU READ THE PASSAGE. IT WILL HELP YOUR APPLICATION!

John 3:22-36
22 After these things Jesus and His disciples came into the land of Judea, and there He remained with them and baptized.
23 Now John also was baptizing in Aenon near Salim, because there was much water there. And they came and were baptized.
24 For John had not yet been thrown into prison.
25 Then there arose a dispute between some of John’s disciples and the Jews about purification.
26 And they came to John and said to him, “Rabbi, He who was with you beyond the Jordan, to whom you have testified—behold, He is baptizing, and all are coming to Him!”
27 John answered and said, “A man can receive nothing unless it has been given to him from heaven.
28 You yourselves bear me witness, that I said, ‘I am not the Christ,’ but, ‘I have been sent before Him.’
29 He who has the bride is the bridegroom; but the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly because of the bridegroom’s voice. Therefore this joy of mine is fulfilled.
30 He must increase, but I must decrease.
31 He who comes from above is above all; he who is of the earth is earthly and speaks of the earth. He who comes from heaven is above all.
32 And what He has seen and heard, that He testifies; and no one receives His testimony.
33 He who has received His testimony has certified that God is true.
34 For He whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God does not give the Spirit by measure.
35 The Father loves the Son, and has given all things into His hand.
36 He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.”

This story is so neat, because we get a real picture of what our flesh is like, and we see a great example of godliness in the testimony of John. Think about this: Have you ever done something, and then someone else did the same thing and everyone was patting them on the back and you did not get any credit? Well that is kind of what happened here. Remember when this book started? John was baptizing people. When we get to the end of Chapter 3 we see that John is still baptizing people, but so is Jesus. It is interesting to see how John's Disciples and the Jews reacted over the fact that Jesus was baptizing: It even seems silly and childish... that is how we are when we are in the flesh.
Johns followers walk up to him and say: (vs. 26) Hey!!! This is not cool! Everyone is going over there to Jesus to get baptized!! What about you John!! You were the first one! They should be coming to you! Not Jesus!!!

They were wrong. John had incredible insight and wisdom in his answer. John says: (vs. 27) I could only baptize people in the first place because Christ allowed me to! I already told you that I am not the "great one" here! It is Christ!
John then goes on to tell a great illustration. He explains that in a normal situation at a wedding, the friends of the bride are not mad at the bride for marrying the groom. When everyone is behaving then the friends are not jealous of the bride BUT THEY ARE HAPPY FOR THE BRIDE!

John makes it clear, that it is wrong to get worked up about this: because that would be like being mad at a bride on her wedding day. It is not about the friends on the wedding day: it is about the bride!

John knew that this life was not about himself! Johns life was about Christ.

John went on to say: (vs. 30) He "Jesus" must increase, I must decrease. I think it would be wise if we all made that verse our motto. We must remember as John did: this life is not about me. This life is not about you! This life is about Christ. It is when we forget that, that we allow so many problems into our life.

We must have a great attitude about life: Just like John did. Even when it did not seem like things were to fair for John, he knew that it did not matter: because this life was not about himself.

You are going to have tough times in life, unexpected situations, heartache, even things that are absolutey not right or fair, but we must remember that this life is not about us. It is about Christ!

I must remember my purpose is to make Christ appear bigger and greater to the world, and make myself seem smaller.

Christ must increase, Lee must Decrease!

i gotta make it quick cuz my dad's rushin me, he's gettin mad that i take so long...

I get it...I see how we sometimes put ourselves above Christ & make him smaller...that's not good cuz Christ is ALMIGHTY(bambi's word=])

We live our life for HIM not for ourselves...that's why we're told 2live a life that's respectable to Christ cuz it's ALL about him...

We're his vessals/creation, he's the master &planner of our lives...master=bigger than servant...

i 4 SOME ODD REASON thought of a chess game...Christ is the chess player & we're his little kings, nights, queens, etc, & he plans his moves(our lives) so he can win the chess game(help us out in life)

we're facing the opponet(satan) & we "play" for Christs team & trust he'll help keep us outta harms way...some sacrafices will be made 2 win the battle in the end(like Paul in jail etc)but we the pieces, need to play 4 Christ...

He's the bigger guy & he comes 1st...i actually just thought all that NOW, when i thought of it as chess i just thoguht tiny pieces(us) player(Christ)-lol...

but yeah, he's WAY WAY WAY bigger than us & we need 2 stop focusing so much on ourselves & look at the big picture(Christ)...

APPLICATION:focus less on self & ALL on Christ...HE'S above US...NOT the other way around

HEYYY!! I got on the pc at work caz it works here...so i'll try and make up the tues and weds tomorow =]

I think this passage is reminding christians that we should try and have a positive attitude in everything we do...this is deff. not easy but once you start doing this it makes your life so much happier. I like pastor lees application about a bride and her wedding. Its true that when everyone is there they are happy and celebrating for her even thought they still may be single but instead of being mad they look forward to when that can be them. I think this is a good analogy for us christians. when you see someone who always has a great attitude most of the time you want to be like that person. Instead of having a crappy attitude and no one wants to be around you and deff not be like you.

well this says that Jesus came to some town and was baptising just like John was doing except John was there for a longer time and all the people came to Jesus and not John, that is what John's friends said, and John said that He was sent from heaven and anyone sent from heaven he will uplift, and he was sent from Christ and that He must increase and John (us) must decrease. so really we should put Christ before ourselves and any worldly thing.

PS. sorry i wasn't at church last night i was at my cousins baccalaureate because she is graduating tom. and sorry i couldn't do my devotions last night Mrs. Christy was on the computer all last night doing something for her school so i couldn't get on. also over 1000 people visited the sight... WOO HOO!!!!!

Ok so this passage is talking about all these people having drama and i hate that first of all and these people arent gettin the fact that Jesus is higher then John because they keep coming up to John and saying that guy Jesus hes stealing all of your people away from you so now you dont get to baptise and this bugs me to because they are forgetting the fact that the whole reason John is baptiseing is that the people can get closer to God and there forgetting the spirtual aspect of th e whole thing and also John keeps telling them Jesus is the reason im doing all this hes higher then me and they dont understand that. This is kinda like people that try to talk behind peoples backs because they think there cool and they dont even have all the facts and details so just STOP TALKING!!!!!!!!Ok sorry i got steemed ha ha ha ha ha ha ha im funny.
P.S im really excited about the camping trip Yeah!!!!!

in verse 30 it says he must increase but i must decrease. that means that you should put Christ before yourself. sounds simple but sometimes it can be terribly hard!!for example, when you get invited to do something amazing and you really want to go but then again it's also sunday night and your commited to something with your church.something like that could be hard to choose! at times like this all it takes is a little bit of faith and hopefully you can make the right choice.but anyway this verse spoke out to me because somrtimes i forget to put christ first and end up being reminded by those who are around me to get back on track. so yeah thats pretty much it.

oh wait one more thing,
sorry i left in the middle of that last game last nigh, had to go pick alex up at band practice.well see yo u sunday!!! oh and tomorow, you know that day after today, well it the LAST DAY OF SCHOOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The deciple walk up to John and say "Hey that Jesus guy is stealing all our people to baptize". John just tells them "hey, the only reason I was baptizing was for Him and now that He's here thats even better. Sometimes we get our priorities mixed up and we forget what is really important.Hey, sorry I was so unfaithful yesterday, not doin my devos or going to church. P.S. McCue was like a drill sargent yesterday. I was like is that McCue o.0

That's right it IS about the bride on her wedding day hahaha I can't wait until I get married! If only Brad Pitt was saved! darn!!!! :)

Anywho, I think that these passages talk about how our life needs to be focused on Christ not on ourselves! I have learned sooo many times that when I make things about ME they NEVER work out! We need to follow Christ not because he can perform miracles or lead us out of hard situations because no matter what we will face tough times but we need to follow Christ because of who He is!!!

We need to fear God! And I know that guilt can be very painful so don’t make it about yourself but about HIM! It is obedience to HIM that we can forgive ourselves when we make it about ourselves.

See ya later, alligators!!! :)

So again John amazes us by being a servant. he shows discipline to Do nothing but serve for Jesus he made the path clear for him. He knows in his heart that look guys I started doing this in his name hes more qualified to do it that I in the first place. In fact, I can only do this because of that man over there.
It is hard to keep it in the big picture sometimes.
-ahh back to drum corps life in 2 days.
-Pastor Lee call me tomorrow I have a prayer request-
-I love you all and hope you all are doing well-
-I saw the Indiana Jones movie with my papa, It was pretty cool for 62 year old actor-

This was a lot of verses, and I had to read it several times in order to get the full scope of what it was saying. Once you have digested this passage it is incredible! John came before Christ simply to point them to Christ. He was not at all about promoting himself. His total goal was to bring people to a knowledge of Christ.

How can we relate to this?? That is kind of a rhetorical question. We have to point people to Christ and in doing so it must not be for our glory- only God's! The verse- "He must increase, but I must decrease." The Lord was be so obvious in my life that you don't even see Katie. When you look at me, you see only Christ. His power must continue to increase as it comes through me, and I must continue to deny myself in order to promote Christ.

Hey Jessica M,

If you are willing to marry an old guy like Brad (He is like 44 years old, the same age as Pastor Lee's dad!)you definitely should wait on Will.:)

well im not gonna right alot realyl cuz im tired and i need to get to bed lol
but yes we do need to make Christ bigger in our lives and not us it kind of reminds me of that some "more of you less of me" something like that
even if your having the worst day ever remember there is always some good in it you know why because you have Jesus and if you let him shine then your day will brighten right up =]
and everything happens for a reason at the time we might not know what that reason is but God does and thats all that matters so always look on the positive side of things
hmm well this one was a really good one for me tonight because ive just been having "one of those nights" and its not a good feeling

but yea i know i havent been on here as much as i used to its because my computer is messed up and the only time i can acutally get oh here ot do my devotions is when i am allowed on my dads laptop long enought to do them lol
but yea i made up yesterdays =]

So John's disciples come up to him and say hey this guy is stealing all the people to baptise. So John in all his wisdom says Hey thats great I was only doing this for jesus and now that he's here doing it is even better. I bet all his disciples were not happy since they felt jealous that jesus was baptising people instead of john.

So i say what you can learn from this is jealousy not a good thing just like booze and drugs.

Well ive got a buncha different scattered thoughts on this so ill just say what im thinking on it.
I think just as they acted foolishly and childish, we do as well but in a different perspective. When we arent acting and reading of the word, we are acting as immature Christians and are lacking spiritual maturity, which is something that i seriously think we can all work on,
me especially.
Also, are you doing things jut for a good record or because truly your desir is to do good things? I knoe everybody gets their mindset a little wrong sometimes but we should remember the true reasons for what we are doing before we decided to do them for recognition.
Our life is to make the Lord recognized and make HIM know, not ourselves.
We can apply both of those things as already stated, and be fully committed to Gods purpose for us.

In everything we do, we need to make God look bigger. Give Him the praise and glory. As humans we are selfish and we want all the credit but that is not right. We should do what John did and give God the credit for everything!
