Hey everyone! Great Job on staying faithful! We will be talking about the next chapter of devotions in Sunday School tomorrow. So make sure you are in Sunday School to get credit for doing your devotions tomorrow! If you need a ride then please call me! I would love to help you get to church!

This passage is pretty great! It explains to us that every one of us are given gift from Jesus Christ. When did He start giving gifts? Right when he ascended (that was when Christ went back to Heaven after he rose from the dead!) Christ "gave gift to men" (vs.8) Then verse 9 and 10 explain to us that Christ descended to earth (in the form of a baby) then He raised above the heavens! Now comes the good part!!! in verses 11- 13 we see what those gifts are: the gift of prophecy (explaining the truth), evangelists (people who are good at soul-winning), even pastors like me, or teachers. (We all have gifts like these we just need to figure out how to use them)
Find out what your gift is and use it! The last verse tells us why it is so important: so that we can work effectively and build the body of the church!!! (By teaching people about Christ!)

Ephesians 4:

7 But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ’s gift.
8 Therefore He says: “When He ascended on high, He led captivity captive, And gave gifts to men.
9 (Now this, “He ascended”—what does it mean but that He also first descended into the lower parts of the earth?
10 He who descended is also the One who ascended far above all the heavens, that He might fill all things.)
11 And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers,
12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ,
13 till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ;
14 that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting,
15 but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ
16 from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.

One of the most rewarding experienced I have ever experienced is in using the gifts God gives you for his honor and glory. There is such an unabridged sensation of purity and joy when the Lord allows you to be used as a mouthpiece proclaiming his glory. Being very involved in music in my church has given me many opportunities to experience worship and God's glory firsthand...I can't help but praise our awesome God for giving me the privilege of serving him. This is one of my favorite passages of scripture.

These verses are talking about the gifts God has given us. We need to use our gifts for His glory. I'm not quite sure what my gift is yet, but I know God will show me what it is. For those of you that already know what your gift is, don't be afraid to use it! That's why God gave it to you. And for those of you like me, who don't know what your gift is yet, pray and ask God to show you what your gift is. Even if it's out of your comfort zone, do it. God wouldn't give you more than you can handle. I agree with Jill, Pastor Lee said it all.

I think tht every individual christian has been given a gift by God. I would like to know what my gift is. But I also think that the point of the gifts were not just for my own sake but for the ministry of others. We use our gifts to bring people to Christ! That is really short for me something must be wrong hahaha!!!!

Sunday school tomorrow be there or be sqaure or just lame whatever!!!!

This passage is a cool one. It's all about God's gifts in our lives. It tells us that every one of us has a gift from Christ. There could be gifts like pastoring or teaching. Whatever your gift is I think we should all go out and use it.

I don't really understand this passage but its saying that everyone of us has certain gifts that god has given to us to use to bring people to the lord. Like for me i have sweet backflips and maybe i can bring people to the lord by show them my backflips and telling them about the lord. he also says that we should be glad for the gifts we have and not take them for granted.

I like what Mack said. Many times the Lord also gives us multiple gifts but we are always well balanced for whatever endeavors God has in store for us. Let Christ lead us where he wants us to go if we let him guide us then he'll place us exactly where our strong points are so that in all we do we can be successful and aspire to glorify him.

So pretty much god gave us all gifts and we have to figure out what ours are( I think mine is either my annoyingness or the fact i'm loud so people can hear me). 9and 10 no idea, but hey according to pastor lee its his coming to and leaving the earth. Then christ explains all those gifts in verses 11-13. then the last 3 just tell how we should be using those gifts to win people to christ and making the body of christ grow.

A lot of these people have said what I was gonna say but I'll say it anyway!!!
This is a very beautiful passage we are talking about...God gives every individual person a gift and we have to meet god half way by finding that gift and using it.most people say "I haven't found my gift yet" but maybe you have and you just don't know it! i for one must admit i don't think i have found my gift yet but who knows!=)

whether your gift is singing, or preaching and so on and so forth. or it could simply be going up in front of the church to pray and encourage other people to come and pray as well!!!
P.S. I figured out how to do it pastor lee!!!!!!!

God has given everyone differnent talents and abilities and gifts and we need to use them for Him and to bring other people to Him God wants us to be mature Christians learning more about Him each day until we get to heaven. Every Christian has a special job and purpose that needs to be fullfilled and what he does affects the jobs of other people in the body of Christ.
