Ephesians 1:1-

1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God,To the saints who are in Ephesus, and faithful in Christ Jesus:
2 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,
4 just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love,
5 having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will,
6 to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.
7 In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace
8 which He made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence,
9 having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself,
10 that in the dispensation of the fullness of the times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven and which are on earth—in Him.
11 In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will,
12 that we who first trusted in Christ should be to the praise of His glory.
13 In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise,
14 who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.

That is exactly how Paul started the book of ephesians. Back in His day, you started out a letter by letting the person who is reading it know who wrote it. Have you ever read a whole letter not knowing who wrote it, until you got to the very end? Well, Paul was keeping that from happening. I think it is wonderful to see how much glory that Paul gave to God. The first few verses just go on and on talking about how great God is. Can you relate? Do you ever talk about How great God is? Then the remainder of the passage talks about several things, but as you can see from the highlighted portion, The theme is that God chose you! (that is also what predesitined means) God looked at you from before time and hand picked you! Wow! You are so blessed! Would you have chosen yourself? Well, if you knew how unfaithful you would be, you probably wouldnt have chosen yourself if you were in charge, But I am so Glad that God is in charge and He chose us! He Chose Me!!!! Thank you God!

The idea that He knew me, he knew every thought I would think, every word I would say, and yet God still chose me to bless and pour his love and grace all over! Wow! I want to live for Him to the best of my ability!!!

What do you think?

Obviously the first verse is saying dear church of ephasus this is paul. Afterwards paul is going yeah God rocks, he's cool, and he is way more awesome than anyone here on earth. Alright so then umm uh well... i don't have a clue what it means, that is until verse 12. so verses 12- 14 is just saying how since we are saved it is sealed and we are to inheret pretty much the riches of heaven. Basically free one way trip there. oh well gotta go bell for fourth block just rang. Peace out!!!

havent been on a lot, yesterday i went and saw sarah, it was weird seeing her with the exact same slice in her back and doing the very same things i was doing two weeks ago! It was nice though :] we were there a really long time and when we came home i layed down and didnt wake up; ha. im still stuck here at home most of my time so visit me whenever you want :]]]

I think this is all Paul saying how great, gracious, and willing the Lord was to give us what he did; we shouldnt ever forget that and should gorify God more for what we are blessed with. We should be more thankful, & when you really think about it, your life is the least you can give, just in the ways you use it to glorify him.

I think this is cool how Paul gives so much glory to god in the first few verses and then goes to say that even before the world was created he chose us and we should love him for that. It also says that because of him we can be forgiven of our sins because of the blood he shed on the cross. Near the end it talks about how if you believe in him you will be saved and it will be a promise.

I think that it is neat how Paul starts off the letter with the idea that it was God's will for Paul to do the things he was doing and to write what he wrote.

Also, these passages talk about how God has not blessed the believers in a worldly way, but God has blessed us in the heavenly ways. I mean He can bless us with earthly things but through Christ they are spiritual not materials. I think that it is also cool when it talks about how God already knew us before we were even born. He chose us! He knew that there would be a category of people on earth who were going to come to Him and eventually become holy and blameless in His sight. But He also gave us freewill whether to choose to be in God's category or hell's. Even before creation He knew! How amazing is that if you really stop to think about it!

But I believe the focus of these verses is simply not the idea of being chosen, but being chosen for what? To be saved. To be saved from our sins. And it is because we sin that we are separated from God and are all deserving of hell. But that is the reason why we can praise God. Because He has “saved” us from that deserving hell to live with Him forever and ever someday soon!!!

My challenge?……To live 4 Him!!!!

This passage is very cool.It starts out with Paul lifting God up with praise where he goes on to say that God chose US! It's pretty crazy to think that before the earth was made God was all like I'm gonna make Pastor Lee and make him teach these kids about me and my gift of salvation and those kids are gonna live to praise me. WOW! I don't even know what I'm havin' for dinner tomarrow. Crazy o.0

These verses are great! I love how Paul is saying how wonderful God is. God really is great! If you just look around you can see his creations. They are made so perfectly, like my new puppy! (: Her name is Hannah, yes, after Hannah Montana. I didn't name her, the family that I bought her from did. She is my birthday present. Ok, sorry, I just HAD to share that bit of information, haha. Ok, it's also really cool that God chose us. He knew everything about us even before we were born! That is pretty amazing.

If I was the only person on this earth he would have still died just for me and He did die for me and you and everybody in the world. God is the Greatest He knew me even before the earth was created he knew everything I would how many steps I would take in my lifetime. God is soooo Great there are too many words for it. It's just sooo amazing and to see it day by day in a new Christians life.
