Proverbs 7:10-18

Pastor Lee:
Wow, this story shows a great picture of the pleasure of sin... FOR A SEASON. This lady is a Harlot and she is sneaky. What is she like? She is loud, stubborn, obnoxious, a flirt, and she is always trying to get the attention of everyone around her? Do you know anyone like that? Guys, if you know a girl like this, then stay away from her. She is Dangerous. Girls, if you ARE a girl like this, then change your ways, find your attention and your significance in your relationship with Christ, not in being loud and stubborn.
Look at how good this passage makes sin look, there is kisses, love, linen of Egypt, myrrh, aloes, cinnamon all night long. But the fact is, we will see how this mans life is destroyed when he allows himself to be fall into the temptation of this woman. Stay away from Temptations.

10 And, behold, there met him a woman with the attire of an harlot, and subtil of heart.
11 (She is loud and stubborn; her feet abide not in her house:
12 Now is she without, now in the streets, and lieth in wait at every corner.)
13 So she caught him, and kissed him, and with an impudent face said unto him,
14 I have peace offerings with me; this day have I payed my vows.
15 Therefore came I forth to meet thee, diligently to seek thy face, and I have found thee.
16 I have decked my bed with coverings of tapestry, with carved works, with fine linen of Egypt.
17 I have perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.
18 Come, let us take our fill of love until the morning: let us solace ourselves with loves.

In the passage today it shows a very sinfull woman and a person with very bad judgement. We cannot be lured into sin like this. Although it may sound all happy la la la right now it will destroy your life afterwards. BEWARE!!!!!!

hey this is jeffy and at my school there is a lot of girls like that and i always see them with boyfriends and i dont understand why these guys are with them them should be with a girl who is loyal and trustworthy. temptetion will only bet you a moment of pleasure but then you will regret it for the rest of your life. Sometimes I fall into temptation but i try to stop and ask myself if its really worth it>

I think this scripture is great for temptations of the flesh, but I also think of this scripture being applied to sin on a larger scale. As pastor Lee said sin is fun. It's not worth denying, sin is a fleeting joy. We can apply this to all sin, satan makes it seem great, and it might be at the time. But the consequences can be dire. This woman that is being described may provoke interest yes, but the word says " She was loud and rebellious" and with the attire of a harlot. If we guys meet someone like this immediately red flags should be raised, we have to guard ourselves guys.

The last part of the passage kind of makes me think about how she is using the word love. Real love can be a lot of things but sinful, regretful, and dirty are not any of them. As a girl, I can focus my attention not on GETTING attention and acting provocative, but GIVING MYattention to the Lord and focusing on Him instead. Not only does this please God and keep me clean, it brings pleasure not only for a season but for my lifetime

Wow. Rachel that was so good, all of these were very good... well, Jon you probably could have said something, but I have to say: Rachel noticing her use of the word "Love". That was brilliant and an excellent application! Great Job Everybody! Good to see you Jeff!
