Hey everyone :) I wish I could have come to the evening service to see that video but I had a picnic for SWAT and it ended right at 6 -_- but it was fun! =] How 'bout some Proverbs? :)

Proverbs 2

1 My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee;
2 So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding;
3 Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding;
4 If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures;
5 Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God.
6 For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.
7 He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly.
8 He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints.
9 Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yea, every good path.
10 When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul;
11 Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee:
12 To deliver thee from the way of the evil man, from the man that speaketh froward things;
13 Who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness;
14 Who rejoice to do evil, and delight in the frowardness of the wicked;
15 Whose ways are crooked, and they froward in their paths:
16 To deliver thee from the strange woman, even from the stranger which flattereth with her words;
17 Which forsaketh the guide of her youth, and forgetteth the covenant of her God.
18 For her house inclineth unto death, and her paths unto the dead.
19 None that go unto her return again, neither take they hold of the paths of life.
20 That thou mayest walk in the way of good men, and keep the paths of the righteous.
21 For the upright shall dwell in the land, and the perfect shall remain in it.
22 But the wicked shall be cut off from the earth, and the transgressors shall be rooted out of it.

So what I think this passage is saying is that if you call upon the Lord, you will know of His knowlege and understand His fear. The Lord gives out His knowledge and wisdom, if only we will ask for it. He leads the ones who worship Him in the right direction, and He guides them on the right path. And then the mood sort of changes into someone who leaves the 'path of righteousness' and walks in the 'way of darkness.' They like doing evil, which is just weird lol. Umm I'm not sure what 'froward' means lol. It's obviously not a typo because they put it three times haha. The person they're talking about has forgotten the way of the Lord, and now she is inclined to death, from my understanding. The ones who truly believe and are righteous will walk in the Lord's path, but those who are wicked will be CUT OFF from the earth!!
That doesn't sound good, does it?
We need to follow the RIGHT path, the LORD's path!!! Don't be tempted into evil ways!!

Goodness Emily you are on fire! I expected to come on here this evening with friday's devo still on here, but you defiently prooved me wrong!

There is always a certain environment where someone gets tempted, like for me, I usually get tempted to sin when I'm alone, for some people it may be different, but the reason I said that is because you need to recognize what certain environment you get tempted most in, and start doing something godly during that time, especially praying or reading verses that help you through temptation, like reading about the armor of God in Ephesians 6:10-19. It works.

WOW so are the devos like random now seriously it feels like someone just took a bible dropped it on the ground and did the passage that was open. Oh well devos is devos right!?!?!?!?

So here is a super short version of todays devos.
1: ask and god will give you his wisdom.
2: gods wisdom is like a shield
3: that shield can protect you from the world
4: without this awesome shield you will be destroyed and most likely fall into the dark temptations of the world.

Oh well i hope you all had fun at pl's party unlike some of us later.

Thank you Emily:) Yes I like the term you used 'circle of posters' lol!
This passage is saying that we should keep to that path that God has set for us. For example, following his words making sure that we keep to his commandments, like we talked about in the book of John, and by being faithful. Verse 5 "Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God." I remember that Pastor Lee said when the Bible says 'fear god' it means to respect and obey him, so when we obey God, we will seek his words and learn more from them:) Awesome, right?? And in verse 22 says that those who choose not to follow God will not go the right way, so we need to remember DAILY how important God's words are!!
