Psalm 37 12-21

12 The wicked plotteth against the just, and gnasheth upon him with his teeth.
13 The LORD shall laugh at him: for he seeth that his day is coming.
14 The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow, to cast down the poor and needy, and to slay such as be of upright conversation.
15 Their sword shall enter into their own heart, and their bows shall be broken.
16 A little that a righteous man hath is better than the riches of many wicked.
17 For the arms of the wicked shall be broken: but the LORD upholdeth the righteous.
18 The LORD knoweth the days of the upright: and their inheritance shall be for ever.
19 They shall not be ashamed in the evil time: and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.
20 But the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of the LORD shall be as the fat of lambs: they shall consume; into smoke shall they consume away.
21 The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again: but the righteous sheweth mercy, and giveth.

Wow! This verse is very clear when it comes to the destruction of the wicked... I love verses 14 and 15. they explain to us that the wicked stand over the poor and needy with their sword ready to attack and with their bow and arrow pulled back and ready to fire... BUT BEFORE THEY KNOW IT... Just when that poor and needy person thought it was all over. God made sure that He was protected and that the wicked man with the sword and the bow and arrow received his own attack. Literally the verse says that the wicked mans sword went into his own heart!! Wow!

I also love the way that verse 13 says the Lord shal laugh at him because the Lord see's his day coming... Think about that... have you ever seen it when a little guy runs up to attack the big guy and the little guys punches the big guy, hits him and on and on and then... the big guy just laughs because it was almost funny how the littel guy actually thought that he had a chance...

That is what I envision in this passage! God know that the wicked have no chance whatsoever if they try to stand up against God!!

That is pretty funny, I thought of it somewhat of the same way, just not in a joke form. It is pretty cool how God can crush his enemies with a word from His mouth, and yet the bad guys try to give it all they have, when in the end, all their hard work was in vain anyway! Does not pay to go against God, you will lose!

This passage says that when the wicked try to overpower us and make things 'their own way', they cannot because God will make sure that we are protected which is a wonderful blessing. And the wicked will get a taste of their own medicine. This kind of reminds me of a situation right now. I need to remember that those who are not in God's word will try to obtain things to make us envy them and like in the previous Psalm, their pleasures are not temporary and in the end, they will not get what they longed for-instead they will face what they have been dishing out to everyone around them. Why? because they just don't believe in God's word, whilst us Christians DO believe.
