Great Job Yesterday! We had four teenagers do their devotions!
I think we can do better!

A Few Thoughts From Yesterday:
Michael: We are praying for your family!
David: I don't know what happened to Josh S. You should invite him to come back sometime!
Lucy: You are quite an interesting girl! I guess you can use yesterdays passage to explain to your mom that you need more sleep :)

Hebrews 4:

9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.
10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.
11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.
12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
13 Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.
14 Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.
15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

These are some incredible verses: first, look at verse 12... It explains the purpose of Gods word on our life! It is quick, powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword!!!! And it helps us descern what kind of thoughts are good and what thoughts are bad...

The world can be so confusing these days: One days they say something is ok, then the next day they tell you that it is bad for you... well, that is why we should not live by what the world says; but instead we must live by what God says!

I LOVE VERSE 15!!! It tells us that we do not have a high priest who does not understand us! We cannot say: Jesus does not know what it is like to live in this world, and to suffer!! He knows better than all of us. If we are ever tempted to think that maybe God does not undersand what we are facing, we need to remember this verse! It reminds us that He was tempted or TESTED in ALL POINTS THAT WE COULD BE TEMPTED IN!!!!!

He knows what it is like to live a sinless life, and He knows that it is possible for us to do so!!!

Pastor Lee and David, Josh Sandefur called me a few days ago to say hi and to tell me that he is going to South Biscayne now. I asked him why, and he said,"my grandma likes it better here." That was insulting to me when I heard that, but I just let it go.

I know Jesus was without sin, because He's God, but is it possible that we can be sinless? My dad told me when you accept Christ your sins are forgiven, even though that doesn't mean you will never sin again, so can we go sinless if we pray and work really hard to acheive it? Just for a day?

There are alot of meanings with these verses.
"12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."
Is one of my favorite verses. It says that the word of God is powerful, more powerful than any man-made sword. This can really, really help us tell the difference between our bad thoughts and good thoughts, and even our decisions.
And in this day and age, I agree, the world is VERY confusing to me. This is why we need to stick to the word of God. He can help guide us through the rough times because you never know what is going to happen next, only God knows, so we shouldn't listen to what the world is trying telling us.
And sometimes you'll hear people say, "No one understands what I'm going through!" when we hear someone say that we need to tell them, "Hey, Jesus knows EXACTLY what you are going through," because sometimes people may think they are always alone but they aren't.
Cool Chapter:)

this passage is kinda telling us that we cannot be sinless... period. and that we can only achieve holiness through getting saved. or accepting jesus. and that is the only way we can get into heaven.
