Well hello everyone! I hope you were in church last night! Because those of you that were there, made it LOTS OF FUN!!!!!!! I really enjoyed last nights service! Thanks for making it exciting!

Hebrews 6

1 So let us stop going over the basic teachings about Christ again and again. Let us go on instead and become mature in our understanding. Surely we don’t need to start again with the fundamental importance of repenting from evil deeds and placing our faith in God.
2 You don’t need further instruction about baptisms, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment.
3 And so, God willing, we will move forward to further understanding.
4 For it is impossible to bring back to repentance those who were once enlightened—those who have experienced the good things of heaven and shared in the Holy Spirit,
5 who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the power of the age to come
6 and who then turn away from God. It is impossible to bring such people back to repentance; by rejecting the Son of God, they themselves are nailing him to the cross once again and holding him up to public shame.
7 When the ground soaks up the falling rain and bears a good crop for the farmer, it has God’s blessing.
8 But if a field bears thorns and thistles, it is useless. The farmer will soon condemn that field and burn it.
9 Dear friends, even though we are talking this way, we really don’t believe it applies to you. We are confident that you are meant for better things, things that come with salvation.
10 For God is not unjust. He will not forget how hard you have worked for him and how you have shown your love to him by caring for other believers, as you still do.
11 Our great desire is that you will keep on loving others as long as life lasts, in order to make certain that what you hope for will come true.
12 Then you will not become spiritually dull and indifferent. Instead, you will follow the example of those who are going to inherit God’s promises because of their faith and endurance.

This is a pretty hard passage to understand, and although I never use any other translations of the Bible, because I believe that the KJV is the most accurate translation, today I chose to share a different translation with you... Did you notice? This is only a one time thing, so do not fear!!

But let's look at this passage together: Baiscally the message that is clear in this passage is this: We need to GROW UP!!!!!! Why are we still struggling with sin so much, and why are we only talking about the basic truths of the Bible... God has so much for us but we have to grow strong in the basic truth and then we can move on to the deaper truths that God has for us!! There is a lot of powerful stuff in the word, but because we are so consumed by our flesh and the wiles of the devil,,, we are growing VERY SLOWLY!!!!

Think about this... we are kind of like Dwarf Christians. (have you ever seen that show on TLC about the Dwarf family, "the Rollofs", well because they are smaller the show proves how many normal daily tasks that we find easy, become very difficult for them because they have not grown to a normal size.

We as Christians do the same thing every day! We do not grow up like we should and then we wonder why it is so hard to walk with Christ, and to avoid sin, and to fight temptation!!

Stuff that we should be doing easily is very hard, because we HAVE NOT GROWN IN THE LORD LIKE WE SHOULD!!!!!!!!!

LETS GROW UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (spiritually)

haha wow this is a funny passage! but i had to read over again cause the first time i didnt understand it! but it is very cool. So for us when we hear "grow up" we usually think of someone immature, and such, but have you ever really thought over growing up spirtually. i haven't really. i mean i've heard like be hungry for god, or become strong in him.
i mean but its so true cause we really do need to grow up in god, well at least i do! i feel like i'm stuck on the same position everyday! like i never move, maybe its because i don't really read my bible a lot, but i do pray everyday, but in order to grow we have to actually mean it from our hearts. . !
i will try more harder now to, idkk become a stronger christian, or you know have that urge to read the bible more often:]

The begginning of the passage was saying we shouldn't be learning the basics over and over again, just like we have already learned how to walk, so we don't need to learn it again! Grow up! Learn new things! We all do everyday, whether it be something in science class, church, or maybe how to learn how to use your new phone. Sure you can review the basics, if you forgot a few things, but otherwise, move on!

Pastor Lee I know we have to meet at the church at 6:30 to go to your house, but I will be at the church like at 5:45 because of my mom's sceduele. Will someone be there that early?

I noticed the different translation immediately! Nice job Lucy you are pretty much awesome!
It seems that the Hebrews are ready for some STEAK DINNER!
Alright so Lee what is laying on of hands.
If we yield thorns the farmer(God) will not use us. I always remember when Jamey Ragle said that it is easier to give God attention then for Him to have to get it. If we don't give Him our attention He will burn us, figuratively speaking. I think a common tendency for the world, and consequently Christians, is to give up when things become frustrating or feel uncomfortable.
With our hearts in the right place we have to continue to love and long to be the SALT! If we do we will not become dull and INDIFFERENT!! Like verse 12 tells us. I see so many people being INDIFFERENT to everything going on in the world, in their lives and in others lives, it is ridiculous APATHY IS IGNORANT! Pick out a Christ-like mentor or role-model and follow their example. This is one area I feel like has blessed me with immensely but really all one has to do is look for a person that will hold them accountable or look for someone that will mentor with their lifestyle. If you can't find one, pray for a friend who will help you in this area. I was totally going to say something else important I don't remember what it was. Thank Jesus! MCC jazz band just had an awesome concert and it was a lot of fun.
