Hey everone! Todayis monday! Just a few days before Christmas! I hope that with all of this extra time because of Christmas break we have more people on their devotions!! Well, thank you Mike for posting these devos today! I appreciate your faithfulness man!

2 Thessalonians 3

1 Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you:
2 And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith.
3 But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil.
4 And we have confidence in the Lord touching you, that ye both do and will do the things which we command you.
5 And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ.
6 Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us.
7 For yourselves know how ye ought to follow us: for we behaved not ourselves disorderly among you;
8 Neither did we eat any man's bread for nought; but wrought with labour and travail night and day, that we might not be chargeable to any of you:
9 Not because we have not power, but to make ourselves an ensample unto you to follow us.
10 For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.
11 For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies.
12 Now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread.
13 But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing.
14 And if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed.
15 Yet count him not as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother.
16 Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace always by all means. The Lord be with you all.
17 The salutation of Paul with mine own hand, which is the token in every epistle: so I write.
18 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.

Verse 14 is very important! It tells us that if there is anyone that is clearly living anti God we must note that person and STAY AWAY FROM THEM!!!! Do you hang out with people that are aganst Godin word or actions? Well if you do! God warns you to stay away from them! It is both dangerous to your spiritual life and your future!

That one verse in the beginning of the passage that I seriously highlighted (I don't remember the specific number of the verse) was one I could tell you about and definetly PL, since he always says these words in his prayers in youth group. God is faithful. We all know how. The Cross. He died to take our place, even when we still rejected it. But He was smart. Duh! He's God! I say that because He knows that if a small amount of men saw what He did and why, they would worship Him. So He saw if he went through all the pain and agony in the world for ten hours, then He would get an eternity of worship. That's just the opposite with the lost people of this fallen world today. They go for momments of pleasure, like sex, then go through the rest of there life in all bad stuff, like the deseases that come with sex, the parents yelling at them and so on. But God did the opposite like I just said. Maybe we, and the lost should think before we act.

Rachel, where are you?! I said a million nice things about you on the devos that past few days, and your not here to read them! If your sick, I'll pray for you. If not, I'll still pray for you.

the main jist of this passage was saying that we shouldn't hang around people that want to have nothing to do with God because they will only take us farther away from God. that is sometimes really hard to do because those people may be our friends, but if those people are our friends then we need to find new Godly friends that will bring us closer to God and not farther away from Him. so we need get away from the people that don't care about God and get closer to those that care about Him that want to worship Him.

thats okay michael, I understand your frustration...I would be the same way if no one else was doing their devos. and I was mostly the only one...well your doing a great job and keep it up :)

wow i havn't been on here in along time and i mad at myself for that. i had some big projects due the last few days of school and volleyball practice and games. but thats no excuse and im back on!!!!

so the main part of this passage is telling us to stay away from the people against God. We should hang out with the people who want to live for Him which is one reason why I love coming to church, to get away from all the evil things and people who dont want to live for Him. I was thinking about how this doesnt just mean your friends but it can be teachers also. I have a teacher who is buddhist and tells us things that bother most of the class especially me, and he is obviously against Christ. I try as much as I can to get away from him and listening to him but next semester I am getting out of that class!!! anyways those are examples of who we need to stay away from and many more too. You should know right from wrong so just always remember to do the right!!! choose RIGHT friends and ppl to be around who love and follow Christ!!! bye.
