I Corinthians 3

1 And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ.
2 I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.
3 For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?
4 For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal?
5 Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man?
6 I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.
7 So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.
8 Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.
9 For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building.
10 According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.
11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;
13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.
14 If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.
15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.
16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.
18 Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise.
19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.
20 And again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain.
21 Therefore let no man glory in men. For all things are your's;
22 Whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come; all are your's;
23 And ye are Christ's; and Christ is God's.

There is some great stuff in this passage! Starting with verse 1! Get this! Paul says: I wish I could treat you like mature believers BUT I CANT!!!! Because you are BIG BABIES!!!!

What does he mean by that? Paul means that these people act like babies spiritually. They cannot feed themselves... they cannot DO ANYTHING!!!! Except Cry, whine, and Make LOTS OF MESSES!!!!!

Paul says, I want to feed you guys a big juicy steak (Big truths out ot the Bible) but you are still eating MILK!!! (trying to learn the basics!!!)

So often I feel that teenagers today need to hear this... We don't want to be babies, we want to grow up and become successfull at life! Well: WHY NOT SPIRITUALLY!!!! Do want to be spiritual babies for the rest of our life? Well, if we remain spiritual babies for the rest of our life, then we will NOT GET MUCH ACCOMPLISHED FOR GOD'S GLORY!!!!

Yesterday will grabbed the side of the couch and stood to his feet ALL BY HIMSELF!! it was really cool! If he was not growing and learning how to do new things and strengthen different muscles then there would be a big problem! It is the same way when we are not growing spiritually! THAT IS A BIG PROBLEM!!

one of the big things that Paul is telling the church of Corinth that they need to work on is getting along with each other! Babies fight with each other, Mature adults do not fight with each other! DONT BE A BABY! Strive to be a mature believer!!

): I just got out of bed because i think i might be really sick but i dont have a fever or anything; jusy VERYYY achy and congested. I dont know if i can come to the activity tonight. It depends if my mom lets me and i feel a little better. I sound like i dont have a nose! lol
well lets do our devotions (:

So to me this whole passage is kind of reminding us how God is in control and the head of everything.
Verses 5 and 6 show that the people put in our lives are there through God and He works in us through them. Whether it be bad or good is part of Gods plan, but we are to remember that they are appointed by God, even though sometimes they dont know it or its hard for us to accept!
Then, verses 16 & 17 remind us of our bodies and how they are temples of the Lord and how they are not ours to desecrate, but should be glorifyig God in everything we do with them.
I cant help but think of, like, having good hygeine lol.
But it know it pertains to more than that :P
It says a lot more, bbut i think verses 11, 21, 22,& 23 pretty much sum it up.
11 says that For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
It tells us that nothing we do will truly be successful unless its foundation is of God. If it all begins and ends with the creator, who has the power to bless or bring down, wouldnt you want to cling to Him for your success?
Then the last 3 verses just seal the deal; it reminds me kind of like being under an unbrella. Theres you undernreath it all, then your authorities, then God, who is, like, the ultimate umbrella lol.
Anyways, sometimes i forget that im not just living off of nothing and im never workingtowards anything for myself or alone because i should be doing things for Gods glory and with Him in mind as the basis of everythinnnggg.

Verses 16&17 really show the importance of acting in a Godly manner. As Christians our bodies are temples of God. Verse 16 & 17 say-->16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?<--
-->17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.<-- Talk about an eye opener, that God will destroy those who defile the temple of God, in other words ourselves! In my psych. class we've been playing this game " agree or disagree". It is the most discouraging and disappointing thing. Basically our teacher asks us questions about controversial topics and has us go to one of four corners: strongly agree, agree, disagree, and strongly disagree. Lately there has been alott of questions refering to sex. If we all could understand these two verses the outcome would be so much different. Of course these teens think, actually they "know" that if they want to have sex, drink, smoke weed all this that it is their choice. The bigger problem is some of them call themselves Christians. As Christians it is not a choice, it is a fact we should not be doing these things because we are temples of the Lord. The question should abortion be allowed came up, and a good majority of the class said strongly agree because it should be the womans choice what to do with her body. Im very worried for our next generation. Today our teacher asked if we think that at least 75% of North Port Highschools senior population has had sexual relations. Not only was everybody in strongly agree, but they said it was definitly 85-90% (most of the students in the class are seniors, with a few junior and only 2 sophmores including me). It really has opened my eyes to the morality of this next generation and the way, at least our community, is going.
So many verses are applicable to what we see everyday, and i personally am becoming more and more aware of how crucial it is to stand out for the Lord.

This reminds me that i need to remember that there is more to life then just the earthly one and i need to put just as much effort into my spiritual life as i do my earthly one. I work really hard at school and strive to be all i can be there so i need to apply that to godly things too.

19 "For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God."

Whoa, if the world is considered smart, God consideres it unwise. That is exactly the case with Evolution. The scientists think their so smart with their gismoes and gadgets, one machine I heard of analizes the stuff in the rock or bone of a dinosaur, and calculates the age. And of course the machine is MAN made and this wacko machine usually says the age is 65 million years old or whatever. The earth isn't that old folks. Its only about 6 to 8 thousand years old. The machines are so far off because their MAN made. Remember, fall into the hands of God and not men!

the meat you can't handle the meat. mmmmmmmm meat. Well what paul is saying in the first few verses is how he can't go into depth of god's word because unfortunately the people of that time had an I.Q. OF 3 and could not handle the mass amount of information he had to tell. so since paul didn't want their head to explode he is only giving them the basics of the bible. also in the teen verses it talks of how we need to work for heavenly riches instead of foolish earthly desires.

So with all typed and done I bid you all a good night.
