NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER
Hey teenagers! Today is the national day of prayer! Make sure and make it a point to pray throughout the day today. If you dont do your devos until 11:59PM then just pray really really quickly! (Hopefully you are praying throughout the day anyway- if not - make up for it by praying all day tomorrow).

A Few Thoughts from Yesterday:
Josh S: Doughnut Boy??? I could have come up with a thousand nick names for you, none of which would have been doughnut boy :) You are silly!
Kasey: Great Thoughts about being "REAL" (Even in our devos)
Josh: How in the world can you mix gangster and redneck together... ... ...Oh Wait!!! (TC) :) J/K
David: I agree with you that Cary is confizzled... BTW what does that mean?
Tyler: I am praying for you and your family everyday!!

Philippians 1:1-10

1 Paul and Timothy, bondservants of Jesus Christ,To all the saints in Christ Jesus who are in Philippi, with the bishops and deacons:
2 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
3 I thank my God upon every remembrance of you,
4 always in every prayer of mine making request for you all with joy,
5 for your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now,
6 being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;
7 just as it is right for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart, inasmuch as both in my chains and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel, you all are partakers with me of grace.
8 For God is my witness, how greatly I long for you all with the affection of Jesus Christ.
9 And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment,
10 that you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ,
11 being filled with the fruits of righteousness which are by Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.

Verse 1 is simply an introduction of this next letter. Paul explains that they are bondservants for Christ and that this letter is written to the people of the church at Phillipi. Verse 2 is simply a kind way of greeting each other. It would be like saying God bless you or something. Then In verse 3 we see Paul explain to the people of the church at Phillipi that He has been praying for them. (Kind of Ironic that TODAY is the NOATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER... who are you praying for?) He begins his prayer by thanking God for these people, Paul prays that they will experience Joy, and fellowship, and Paul explains one of my favorite verses. He explains that He is confident that God started something good in each of YOUR lives, and he will be faithful to complete His good work if you simply follow him. How great is that!! Verse 9 tells us that Paul wanted the people to understand what to love and what not to love (that is what discernment means- to know how to choose what is right or wrong). And verse 10 is exactly what Kacey did in her Devos yesterday... She told us to be REAL in everything, even our devotions. And she even said she didnt want to offend anyone, just like Paul said "without offence". Great Job! Finally we need to pray that we and our friends are filled with the fruits of Righteousness. In other words, Our actions are good fruit because of our relationship with God.

Take some time today and pray for a few things: When you do your devotions, add any other prayer request to the list that you may have and lets take some time as a youth group praying for each other.

Pray for:
Our Youth Group (the spiritual growth and number growth)
Sarah Watkins and Rachel Mace (that they will continue to heal quickly)
Tyler King and Family (I told Him I would pray for him... you can too!)
Katie and Will (Just because I love them and I want everyone to pray for them :)
Pastor Chip: That God will continue to use him and speak through him to our church
Pastor Dick and Mrs. Bev: They are out of town, pray that they make it back safely!
Pray for the families and marriages in our church. (Satan has many many marriages under attack in our church, we must pray that God will have the voctory and these relationships can be healed.

Woot Woot! 1st to comment!!!

Let's see... So basically we've gotta get right w/God & learn wrong from right. God say's he'll teach us what to love & what not to love & to just BE REAL.

I get that once we surrender to God, he'll help us on our journey to a better life if we just believe & follow him & ALLOW him to work his ways, we'll live a better life=]

It's the process which you start when you get saved=] My brother Tyler (the lil guy who's in there b4 service) is learning everyday. He tries everyday to be better & be nicer.

It started off small like giving me the bigger half of the cookie-lol- to the point where he tells me everything & asks questions about God & he saks for help on HIS devotions & learning memory verses<3<3<3 He's getting better everyday & should hear him about the death & resurection of Jesus=]

So basically I'm sayin, all u gotta do is BELIEVE & ALLOW God to work his wonders=] Anybody can do it=]

My prayers go out to everyone on the prayer list & to my bro 4 a smooth path on his spiritual jorney=]

You're right pastor lee! Devotions ARE amazing! It's only 1st period & i feel like i can take on the world & that NOTHING can bring me down! I'll be sure to try & get Amanda into em 2=]<3

haha P.Lee u crack me up with that TC thing cuz its so so so true one week we were at the rodoe and he was all redneck and was getting info about starting to ride rodoe and then the next week we were there he comes lookin all gangster haha me and gabi made fun of him so bad it was great =]

at the wilds last year i memorized a few verses of this passage and it is very encouraging knowing that God isnt done with us until we die or the rapture comes =]

even if we screw up and stuff and want nothing to do with him he doesnt give up on us and he fights till the end for us to come back to him

and like these verses say and like kacey said yesterday we need to be real in our devotions and in our everyday life and not be afraid of sticking up for what we believe in and actually doing these devotions helps me be real in my everyday life too and i can see a difference in me because before if people were talking about God and stuff and they were saying stuff that wasnt true i would jsut blow it off but now i actually start to talk to them about it and it kinda gives me a chance to witness to them its pretty cool =]

this is saying that we should give all the glory that god deserve from us and we should be filled with him and overflow with his grace. We should be children of him and show the world the fruits of his work. We should stay strong with the lord and grow in him because the only way to have a good relationsship is to communicate!

I will be praying for everybody today!

We should be confident in ourselves and to other people we should tell them that they are doing good at something. Pray for them everyday. God is not done in my life He has big plans for me and for you I have no clue what they are its like a surprise party everyday you dont know whats gonna happen and then SURPRISE this is what your going to do for the rest of your life! Its kinda scary. But we need to trust Christ and let him finish his work.

uggh... I just got out of the hospital for my ankle. It wasn't fun. I hobbled in there and they were like get him a wheelchair asap.I was like c'mon guys it's just sprain. Anyway, this passage is just awsome because I remember it from the Wilds we had to memorize some of it like verse 6. Its Paul telling us that God has done something great in our lives and wants to continue to use us for great things. This whole passage is just uplifting and makes you want to live for Him! Also HAPPY NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER!!!!! I'm prayin for all of ya.

i remember memorizing that too!, probably at the wilds but i have bad memory.
well, Paul was praying for the people (like we should pray for our friends and not-so friends) and it says what all for. the thing that makes me think here is where it says 'He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ' of course meaning that he was praying for God to work in His people. God will obviously work wonders in your life if you let him, but for your people who arent saved, He cant work in. Lol, i watched joyce myers with my mom before and she calls it planting seeds; how we should always tell people of the Lord and 'plant' them the seed that they will either accept and let grow, or reject, but you can still pray for God to work in them because you put that 'seed' in them and theyve been told.
woah, off subject. just a thought i guess x] anyways, Paul also prays for the people to make good choices, be sincere in themselves, and they they be producers of Gods fruit in their lives, which we can pray for too for our friends and ourselves.

im definately praying for you guys! :]
can you please pray for a friend of mine too, whos just doing really destructive things that worry me a lot.

hey pastor lee! sorry i havent been doing my devos lately.but look on the bright side only 4 more weeks. thats right counting down!!!

what i enjoyed about this passage is it realy spoke to my heart.you know what i mean? it was like even if i wasnt getting what was intended to get i got a sence that everything is okay. i love that feeling! just to know that someone is watching over me. and now as i just read it again i relize that has nothing to do with what we are talking about. it's almost like God wanted me to here what he wanted me to here tody so every thing i read was translated before i even got a chance to take it all in. pretty Amazing!

well i cant wait to jon the teen group me and lucy are sooo excited.4 just 4!!!!!!:-)

I think that at one point in every person's life they consider their future and hope that they will achieve great things and be successful. For all of us who have ever been nervous or afraid that we will live an unsuccessful life this passage is a great encouragement. It literally says that if we do what God commands, He will complete something great in us. It is really great how this is worded, because it takes the pressure off of us to do something great. It is such a blessing to know that if we do what is right in the day to day, then ultimately God will do something amazing through us. We serve an awesome God!

Yeah a new book, Philippians Good Choice!!!
It is ironic like you mentioned Pastor Lee of today being National Day of Prayer and what the verses are talking about today! But what is also ironic for me was what I wanted to add onto my devotions as a PRAYER REQUEST... I want to pray for what the will of God is in my families’ life. I mean it jus seems like all we are doing is waiting and waiting and waiting for an answer.
Anyway, Paul here is praying for this church of Philippi as well. He thanks God for these people, and fellowships wit tem ad tells them that God's grace is with them always. Paul also talks about how confident he is that if we just let God take us where he wants us than God will be able to take you places and do things in your life that you would have never dreamed of. My parents can vouch for that, they were taken all over the world singing in places they never thought they would go. Amazing, HUH?

Sorry I wasn’t in church yesterday! I know you all missed me greatly J

Good Day!!

Heyy guys! I missed you all last night. This passage kind of hit me in the face. It's reminding everyone that they constantly need to be in prayer...something that i've totally been struggling with. And when you try and live your ife without god he finds a way to make you realize you can't be right all the time and do things on your own. (Like my nice fall in the shower.) He also is saying that getting involved with god brings you happiness and makes you enjoy fellowship more which is also great.

to me it just says that you got to get right with God and just believe in him and itll be alrite.and if you just need help all you got to do is talk to him or pray and he will listen! and he does hear your prayers and answer him,he might not answer them right when you want him to but he will eventually! never stop praying cause miracles do happen and hopefully for christie a miracle will help her! if yall dont kno she was in a horrible car crash and they were going to pull the plug today but jill texted me that they arent waiting cause she made some movements so hopefully a miracle will happen real soon!!

WOW... this is such a kool subject! this passage is saying that you need to be gods puppet! (in a sense) in order to obtain TRUE happiness in life GOD needs to work through you and YOU need to be WILLING to do what GOD WANTS in your life... not what YOU WANT! if you work to obtain what you want.. it brings happines temporarily... but if you let god be the leader in your life then you will expirience TRUE HAPINESS!!! (oh ya... pastor lee, if you want me to bring my guitar in on wednesday and play w/ you i can.) PEACE OUT (oh ya my picture is me and tyler after CRUSHING estero 29-0 and after i scored a 75 yard QB sweep around the weak side! it was awesome!)

Basically its saying that we should be righteous in the Lord for he is good. And it kept repeating until the day of the Jesus Christ which is probably the day when he will return its basically just like a reminder you know like knock knock knock hello be holy live for me. lol

it is saying that Peter and Timothy are thanking the church and putting the church in their prayers for being so faithful to God and every church should be like that praising God no matter what happens, especially OUR church. also saying that God has created a good work in you and he will finish it. he is also saying we are partakers with him of grace and that he cares for us and is keeping them in his prayers, we should love and care for everyone even if we don't like them. he is also saying that we should love everyone as much as God loves us, even if they are homosexual or weird or we maybe we don't like them we should still love them anyway. it also says that we should be sincere and not offensive until the day that Jesus comes back and we should also be filled with the fruit of righteousness from Jesus Christ to glorify and praise God.

Thank You for praying for us Pastor Lee!!!

PS. I have a huge biology test tom. so please pray for me.

Whoops I did the devo like an hour ago then forgot to post because I got all wrapped up in so many things I could pray for. Every time I think about it though i really can find something new to thank God for or praise him for and ask him to do in my life or the lives of others.
Awesome Brooke you are so right often times people ask but dont believe god will work in their lives. God does absolutely amazing things but we must pray and believe and allow him to work in our lives.

Thank you Jesus!
