I AM ON MY NEW LAPTOP!! WOO-HOO!!!
This is so cool! What a blessing! I was on a video chat with my dad for a couple hours last night, and my grandparents for even longer. Are any of you on AIM? If you are, post your screen name with your devo's today. This is going to be so much fun!
A Few Thoughts from Yesterday:
Amy: That is so cool that you are so interested in missions! I majored in Missions and Bible in college. I have always felt a burden for missions. I have been interested in Senegal, Morrocco, and Romania. Maybe we should visit one of them on a youth group trip.
Alex: Yes, I agree, Paul is so cool! We should strive to be like him.
Rachel: You said that you "want to be like that"... Refering to Paul... Did you mean that you want to be in jail? or that you want to spread the gospel? Just wondering...
Gaby: Only 3 More Days!!! We <3>
Jessica: Glad you made it, I was on a midnight and I thought you missed a day. Sorry you were so sick today? Do you have chicken-pox?
Phillippians 1:19-26
19 For I know that this will turn out for my deliverance through your prayer and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ,
20 according to my earnest expectation and hope that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ will be magnified in my body, whether by life or by death.
21 For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
22 But if I live on in the flesh, this will mean fruit from my labor; yet what I shall choose I cannot tell.
23 For I am hard-pressed between the two, having a desire to depart and be with Christ, which is far better.
24 Nevertheless to remain in the flesh is more needful for you.
25 And being confident of this, I know that I shall remain and continue with you all for your progress and joy of faith,
26 that your rejoicing for me may be more abundant in Jesus Christ by my coming to you again.
Picture this: Paul sitts in this Jail cell, and as he sits here, it seems almost as if he is day dreaming about heaven. What a wonderful relationship with God: Paul daydreams about being with the God that he loves so much. The key verse in this passage is verse 21 in which Paul says: "for me to live, is Christ; and to die is gain". What a concept, Paul explains to us that he is torn, part of him wants to stay here on earth and continue living for Christ, and the other part of him wants to go ahead and die so that he can go to heaven to be with Jesus Christ.
I dont know about you, but I dont day dream about dying, so that I can be with Jesus. I think that just shows where I am spiritually in comparison to Paul. I have some work to do.
The interesting part is that Paul did not just day dream, but he literally reasoned this whole idea out in his head. In verses 22-24 Paul explains his reasoning: (22) Paul says, I honestly do not know which I would choose if I were given the opportunity. He explains in 23 that to be with Christ would be greater than anything else, but verse 24 explains that He still has work left to do. Paul tells us that it is more needful for the church at Phillipi (and us) for him to stay alive at this point, because we needed to hear what he would continue to say to us through the word of God.
What an incredible man, I am looking forward to spending time with him. A man who truely understood what death and life is. May we understand as well.

AWIGHT!! FIRST ONE!! paul is telling us in this passage about his heavenly thoughts in his jail cell... and then his mind starts wandering if it would be best to go ahead and die, since he is going to be in a jail cell the rest of his life, or if he should stay on the earth and live some more and wittness more.. which should he do? i mean hes already wittnessed to enough people right!!! WRONG!!! U CAN NEVER WITTNESS TO ENOUGH PEOPLE!!!! paul should definently stay on the earth and live and try his very best to reach people from his jail cell!!!!! you say "well... ive wittnessed to like 10 people, havent i done enough?!?!" NO you can never do enough wittnessing!!! we need to get out and start wittnessing to more people!! I MEAN, PAUL LEAD SO MANY PEOPLE TO THE LORD FROM HIS JAIL CELL!!!!!!!!!!! and we can lead people to the lord by doing DOOR TO DOOR and we can do it by leaving tracks in local places (such and bathrooms and restaurants) PEACE OUT!!
Paul is so awesome he is basically saying Christ is my life!We need to be ready for Christs return. What will you be doing when he comes back (if he comes back anytime soon)? In any situation we should always praise and worship God. As Paul in jail he still was positive and uplifted God with everything he had he wanted to make sure that if he does die in jail that the last thing he would do is praise and worship God. Wow! Paul was a very Godly person in chapter 1 verses 3-4 is very good read it sometime. its how Paul has fellowship with God and always in prayer of his with God.
hmmm Paul is an awesome man and i know that if i was put in jail i wouldnt have the greatest attitude about stuff and i deff wouldnt be wittnessing to everyone i come in contact with cuz i would just be so "down in the dumps" i wouldnt feel like it andi would be afraid of what they would do to me because if your in prison then you coule prob take me down lol
and i also think its cool that Paul was debatnig between the two either staying here on earth and wittness or going to heaven to be with God and to be honest with you i would prob choose to die and go to heaven because im human and we tend to be selfish alot
and thats one thing that we all prob need to work on including me =]
so im gonna try to be more like Paul and its prob gonna be hard but remember "i can do all things through Christ who strengthens me"
=]
(oh and go back and look at yesterdays P.Lee =])

When your in trouble your faith for god should be its strongest point like when your at sum place that you shouldn't you should be strong in christ and not let sin take over. Its like adrenaline when your hanging on the side of a cliff or your baby is about to get hit by a car and there is now humanly way to get them your adrenaline kids in and some way you save yourself or your child. God should be your adrenline in all times!
pastor lee im sorry but i dont think i can come to church this sunday because im representing pn in sarasota with brizzle. Were going to go to his church so at least were still going to be praising the lord just not with north port ok104iloveyou2bye
Even tho Pastor Lee & Katie & Will Tomlin invited me and his grand parents to come visit a few weeks ago I was truly excited to hear both of the preaching services & I
want to say to everyone thank you for letting us be apart of the services that day.
From Lee & Katie Tomlin's uncle JD.Bethel
well what i got from this is that Paul is saying in his jail cell that it dosen't matter what happens to him as long as Christ is magnified in his body. he is also thinking to himself if it would be better to just die and go to heaven with God, or stay alive and preach the gospel to more people to try to get them to heaven. i don't know about you but if it is was me with that decision i would probably die and go the heaven to be with God, but it is probably better to stay alive becasue you are already going to heaven so you should try to get more people saved. he is also saying that it would be better to stay on earth to get more people saved for Christ (which was what i was saying). after thinking that, he decided to stay on earth and preach the gospel to more people trying to get them saved because that is more important to the furtherance of the gospel.
PS. Curly is the man!!!
Paul is having conflict within himself. He knows that if he dies that he will be in heaven with Christ. But he also wants to continue helping people get to know Jesus. I thought about that before but not in like a kill myself kinda way just a what if I were to die right now way. It just goes to show ya you need to get people saved as soon as possible.
About that whole Paul completely willing to die to see jesus thing. Yea i think this calls for a quote from Yoda "Train yourself to let go all that you fear to lose"(paraphrased) including our own lives.
It's so amazing here that in spite of his position Paul doesn't even have the slightest doubt about God's plans for him. Complete trust in God's plan for his life and it being for his good.
Saw Iron Man today-Sick-
Amazing
wow i think im like bad or something cause im trulythinking the exact opposite of everyone. :/ i know where im going when i die and i know its going to be great, but i would think, honestly, that i would want to stay on earth until death just happens on its own. even though i would think that, i probably wouldnt still have as much of a good intention that paul had when he was saying the pros of staying on earth. which is awful. i guess cause ive only experience death from an earthly standpoint and its never been to glorious. :/ i know that my Christian lifes purpose is to share the Lord and witness, but just like in my devotions the other day, i often dont do it as often as i should. i said i was going to work on it and i still am, i invited someone to come to church on wednesday but they arent sure if theyll come. but im really trying,
and it feels good to do :]
anyways, paul once again says some amazing things here that really show how faithful and God pleasing he was and is a demonstration of how focused we should be on the Lord.
i yeahh i totally second mccue on te iron man movie.
it was amazing; recommend itt.
Christ will be magnified in my body, whether by life or by death.
Meaning i will shine the light of Jesus whether im dead or alive and thats mainly the whole passage.

Paul is trying to decide whether or not he should live with Christ and spread the word even more, or to die with gain. Which is obvious he should continue to stay alive. Although we might tell hundreds of people about Jesus, there are still millions of people out there that have no knowledge and understandings on the word of God. We should live our life with Christ and follow God's word until the day of our death. Which should be in His hands not ours.
Within the past 5 or 6 years, my faith was on a rollercoaster. Sometimes I'd be close to God, then there would be periods of times when I would turn back to my old habits. When I was younger I once even doubted Him and question why He was not there when I needed Him. But the more I went to church and praised and worshiped Him, the more close I got. I am still not certain what God's purpose for me is quite yet, but I can not wait to find out. :]
Paul is a great man. We definatley need more people like him here with us today!!

Paul's attitudes in these difficult times are amazing to see. Praising God even under these circumstances I can't say that I would have done the same thing wait let me think I know I wouldn't have! What a lesson to learn!
Paul talks about such an interesting point where he says he is stuck between to decisions of staying here on earth and living for God a little longer or departing from this world and going to be with the Lord right away! How interesting! I think for Paul he was feeling a sense of why not go be with the one who has changed his life and the one who can lead him out of his destruction while he sits in that jail cell! Jesus Christ only can!
My challenge?…Not to be ashamed of the gospel!!!
wow that's GREAT!!!
For him to decide to stay here on earth & finish out god's work!
he could've wished to die& get out of there...Even though he could've been w/god.
he stayed to continue god's work to bring MORE people close to god=]
i understand, im just not able 2put in in2 words cuz Bambi's boyfriend won't shut up about how he's practically anti-god & all...
he's driving me NUTS!!!
this is reminding you that christ is in your life and that one day you will be with him...like pastor lee said i want to be more spiritually prepared because i am no where close to being like paul! Also rejoyce that god has saved you!
