Hey Everyone! Today Is Saturday! What are your plans (besides doing your devotions)
I was up pretty late last night gettin DESTROYED in the game RISK. It was pretty funin the begining because I was winning, but then my two opponents collaborated and really put a "woopin' " on me. It was sad! But Fun! Anyways, I hope you have an exciting day!

DON'T FORGET SUNDAY SCHOOL TOMORROW MORNING @ 9:15am!!!

A Few Thoughts From Yesterday:
Josh L: I am glad that you were here to explain you silly joke. Ok, It was kind of funny :)
Brooke: I am sorry Girl, I forgot about your little cord... I will get it to you on Sunday, can you come Sunday night?
In K C UR Wondering: Those are some wise words! We must KNOW the word so that we can SHARE the word!
Jeff: Thanks for teaching me how to do a backflip yesterday... I will get it one day! :)
C.M.: We are glad that you came... I enjoy hanging out with Zach and Brad! (ok, you too!)
My Two Cents: Well, Well, Well...you think that you are so sly... I went through the list of who went, and I think that the "reason why you did not get sunburned is because YOU WERE NOT AT SUNSPLASH... What do you think about that? I also think that you WILL ride in my van. Ha! :) I am reading an INCREDIBLE book that talks about EXACTLY what you were saying in your devotions yesterday... As we get out of our comfort zone... we EXPAND our comfort zone, and there fore we become comfortable doing more things! Pretty Cool Huh!
Rachel: Wow, that was late girl! I am glad you did them! And they made a lot of sense! Keep up the good work! GET RYAN ON HERE AGAIN! :)

John 13:1-9

1 Now before the Feast of the Passover, when Jesus knew that His hour had come that He should depart from this world to the Father, having loved His own who were in the world, He loved them to the end.
2 And supper being ended, the devil having already put it into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, to betray Him,
3 Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into His hands, and that He had come from God and was going to God,
4 rose from supper and laid aside His garments, took a towel and girded Himself.
5 After that, He poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples’ feet, and to wipe them with the towel with which He was girded.
6 Then He came to Simon Peter. And Peter said to Him, “Lord, are You washing my feet?”
7 Jesus answered and said to him, “What I am doing you do not understand now, but you will know after this.”
8 Peter said to Him, “You shall never wash my feet!” Jesus answered him, “If I do not wash you, you have no part with Me.”
9 Simon Peter said to Him, “Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head!”

So Jesus is there with His disciples. They are all hanging out together eating supper. When the meal is over, Jesus got up, changed His clothes, and got a bowl of water and began to wash the Disciples feet!

This must be a Biblical Error! Right? I mean they should be washing Jesus' feet right? What do you think? Well here is the great explanation of what is going on. Jesus is showing that whoever will be the greatest of all will be the least of all. Whoever wants to be the leader should be the servant. Christ, who is the creator and sacrifice for mankinf not only dies for man, but He washes the dirty stinky feet of man kind.

WHEN was the last time we saw someone wash someones feet? Do You remember? It was when Mary washed Jesus feet. Mary was showing Christ how valuable He was to her. Think about this: Christ is showing the desciples how valuable they are to Him. The amazing part is If Christ were here teenagers... He would wash your feet!!

In my pride, I would probably be like Peter. I would say: " You are not washing my feet!!!!" I will wash your feet, but Christ in His wisdom explained to Peter... This is not about you Peter, this is about me. If you will not let me serve you then you have no part with me.

We have been created to follow the example of Christ and glorify God. I think that we must learn to better follow the example of Christ when it comes to SERVING OTHERS.

Christ would be the LAST PERSON that ever existed that should be washing the feet of others, but He was showing HOW IMPORTANT it is to SERVE OTHERS!

Whom do you serve? To display the example of Christ!

Wow what an honor to have the lord be washing your feet. I mean like now something like anyboby washing someones feet would just be weird but this is to show humility and your willingness to serve. So just like jesus was showing us in these few verses we need to serve him with the same mentality of glorify him and humilifying ourselves. We can do this by simply witnessing to others, helping in the church, giving your awesome youth pastor one hundred dollars ($100), and/or DOING OUR DEVOTIONS!!!

Eww, think of how nasty the disciples’ feet were. They walked everywhere. They didn't have nail trimmers. And they didn't have a salon where you could get pedicures. They probably had sores and cuts all over them. Even though they had gross feet, Jesus still washed them because He has a servants heart. Also, He wanted to be an example to us. We shouldn't have to go out of our way to help others. It's not that hard to make someones day better. Talk to them, ask them how they are doing and tell them that you are praying for them. That will make someones day better. Just as Jesus did, we need to serve others!

You should call that ryan one day and ask him if i dont tell him allll the time to get on here! Hes just dumb and "FORGETS".

i dont really trim my toenails, they just do their thing. and ive never gotten a pedicure in my life; and i dont think my feet are that horribly bad...?

Its kind of funny to see that at first this guy was like "Jesus, why are you washing my feet? stop, thats my job" and then Jesus says one sentance; and the guy is pretty much asking for a bath.??

Most of the time, when it feels hard for me to serve others, its because of my standings with them or because of my indolence.
Makes me sound awful, but im sure im not the only one who does it.
Sometimes a person may not necessarily be the sweetest person or maybe rude and i find it hard to serve people like that, but the fact is we have no excuse.
Jesus served the sinners whos lives would put His to death and He loved them! He was giving the perfect example of who and how to serve.
I should definitely do more for people, including the people who im not completely fond of or arent fond of me.
Along with that, sometimes im lazy to serve and dont want to sacrifice any of my time for someone else -gooosh i sound so mean- when really, theres no better way to be using my time!
If Jesus could do it for us on a muchhh greater scale, i can/should do it for Him and other people.

So in order to serve christ you have to let him serve you. I think this is a big concept we get away from. To work in other peoples lives you first have to let christ work in yours. So I know I can work on letting god work in me in order to affect those around me. It is really amazing to think about something as simple as christ washing our feet in contrast to christ's death for us. Anyway gotta get some rest before rehearsal
Peace

As I read this passage, what jump out to me the most was the end of verse 8 "if I wash thee not, thou hast no part with me". I don't think I ever thought about this before in the passage, but like Michael said, Jesus must work in our lives first, so we can work for Him. It's hard to work for Christ if we haven't allowed Him to work in us and change our hearts.
I once heard a testimony of a woman whose husband wasn't exactly in the Lord. So she prayed fervently that God would change her husband and the Lord just seamed not to answer her prayer at all. Then one day the Lord spoke to her and told her that she should be praying that He would change HER! So she started praying that way. And what a difference it made. Within weeks she noticed changes in her husband.
Moral of the story: if you are having trouble with somebody, and are praying for this person, maybe you should, also, try asking God to change YOU and/or your attitude. Try it and see what happens!
Love, C U 2morrow!!!

I think i would be like Peter too. i wouldnt know what to do if Jesus were washing my feet. i think that washing someone elses feet isnt an apropriate thing to do if you were the son of God. i think it is amazing how Jesus did this to show them how much they ment to him nd how much he needed them. i liked what peter did saying not to just wash his feet but his head and his hands aftr he found out that Jesus was doing this so Peter could be a part with Jesus. Peter wanted to be closer to Jesus.

Well thats the lesson today pastor lee if you mess with Josh and I you will lose! Asian pride! but yeah last night was fun and we need to get together again and teach you a back flip so that you can do it by yourself!

At this dinner Jesus was thinking about his plan to die for us and to leave the world to be with his father in heaven. After eating Jesus started to wash everyones feet to show them how important they were to him! Wow Jesus was so willing to show them how much he cares he washed their feet shouldn't it be the other way around? when he came to Peter to wash his feet Peter wondered why Jesus was doing this and told him not to and that it should be him washing Jesus feet. Jesus then replied that if he doesn't wash his feet how will he become apart of Peter. Peter understood this and told Jesus to wash his whole body wanting to be like Jesus as much as he could. Jesus was so willing to show how much they meant to him he washed their stinky gross fungus feet WOW! Thats some love there! So if you want to show someone that you really love someone go wash their feet! jk

Pastor Lee,-BRAVO- on doing your homework to try to find me. Im glad to see your so involved, I hope your not loosing sleep over it. ha ha
I ashure you that I will NOT be riding in your van to the wilds. If you think like me, your right around the corner from finding me.

Rachel, you hurt my feelings. Just kidding. Maybe im not a good speller or user of words, or MAYBE im putting on a facade. (oo-big word) lol

I have read this passage a few times before, this is the first time that I imagined sitting there watching Peter and Jesus having this conversation. Peter is like what are you kidding me, no way are you gona wash my feet. Jesus looks at peter with love and humbleness, and says you just dont get it.
In some weird way I relate this to loving your enemies. When people dont understand us they sometimes give us the cold shoulder. Instead of giving one back, we need to show them Christ like love and humbleness.
When Jesus answered Peter, “If I do not wash you, you have no part with Me.” I think the light went on and Peter knew the love Christ had for him. This same thing happens when someone loves the unloveable untill the unloveable cracks. That is when that person will see the love that was bestowed upon them and great things happen.
Its late see you all tomarrow.....

this starts out after dinner when Jesus gets up and cleans himself up and then He starts to wash the disciples feet. then peter says for Jesus to stop washing his feet when he should be washing Jesus feet, but Jesus says if i don't wash you then you have nothing to do with me, so peter says for Jesus to wash hands and head also (which i thought was pretty funny). also how amazing would that be for Jesus to wash your feet. so we need to let God do what He wants with out question because He has a plan for everything, and also we should serve others once in a while instead of ourselves.

You guys r slowing down really fast the other day there was like 25 comments and now thers 14. Whats up with that.

i would be kinda scared about Jesus cleaning my feet I mean they really did'nt have many shoes back then maybe none at all and there feet were probably molding!!! and Jesus was going to wash them!! GROSSS! But Christ wanted to for Himself. I serve Christ but sometimes i want to be selfish and not caring and i will serve myself instead of Christ. We should be a Christ-serving person.
