Proverbs 8:22-36
Pastor Lee:
As we finish this chapter, wisdom is still personafied. Wisdom is telling us that she was there when God created the earth, the mountains, the depths of the oceans, the clouds, and everything else. God used his wisdom in the process of creation. And Wisdom says to us, God used me from before time, dont you think that you should use me too?
The passage finishes by telling us that we hear wisdom and obey it, we must not refuse the wisdom that we have been given. And finally, when we find wisdom and follow then we get favor from the Lord. However, when we do the opposite of what wisdom tells us to do, we do damage to our own soul and we get ona path for destruction.
Will you pay attention to wisdom? What choices do you need to rethink with wisdom in mind?
22 The LORD possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old.
23 I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was.
24 When there were no depths, I was brought forth; when there were no fountains abounding with water.
25 Before the mountains were settled, before the hills was I brought forth:
26 While as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the highest part of the dust of the world.
27 When he prepared the heavens, I was there: when he set a compass upon the face of the depth:
28 When he established the clouds above: when he strengthened the fountains of the deep:
29 When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment: when he appointed the foundations of the earth:
30 Then I was by him, as one brought up with him: and I was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him;
31 Rejoicing in the habitable part of his earth; and my delights were with the sons of men.
32 Now therefore hearken unto me, O ye children: for blessed are they that keep my ways.
33 Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not.
34 Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors.
35 For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the LORD.
36 But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death.

In Proverbs 1:20 it says "Wisdom crieth without; she uttereth her voice in the streets" Will we listen to her or ignore her? If we pay attention to her cry we will get favor from God and He always has had a purpose in your life since before time. If He decides to take one of your family members home with Him will you ask, Lord why me why me or will you say this is not God's fault He knew it would happen even before you where born He knows what will happen tomorrow and 100 years from now so I will listen to the voice of Wisdom and not become disobedient unto God because I do not want to be headed for the path of destruction. So don't ignore her voice.
Wisdom is from God and is truly huge a part of what God wants us to have so we can be pleasing him. Wisdom says here that we should listen to her, and we should seeing as wisdom is from the Lord and it will guide us in living right. I see the bible as a big book of wisdom and the things it teaches you make you more wise.(kinda like devotions. but im not all too smart. :]) So when we are given wisdom, we should take and use it or you are rejecting becoming wise; which, as established on saturdays devotions, is better than riches or anything else in the world.
