Matthew 27: 15-32

Pastor Lee:
What an incredible passage. I read this passage today as if were the first time. We have all seen the easter cantata's and musical where this scene takes place on stage, but to read the details brings out so many interesting points.
Pilate was trying to be somewhat rational, he said, What shall I do with Christ, but the people were just out of control, as if Satan was controlling the mob they relentlessley cried out. "Let Him be Crucified". Even when pilate acknowledged that He had done nothing wrong, He had committed no crime, He was just as Holy (seperate from sin) right at that moment as He is now, or was before time. Yet the people screamed "Let Him be crucified". Then these fleshly people becan to scream that "His blood will be on our hands and our childrens hands" How true that rediculous statement was.

Christs blood is on my hands and yours because without our sin, he would have never had to die. Think about the price of the sin that we commit. It cost the life of the son of God.

Teenagers, Sin makes you stupid and obviously these people were being stupid and saying stupid things, dont live like this crowd, lets live to honor the savior who died for us.

15 Now at the feast the governor was accustomed to releasing to the multitude one prisoner whom they wished.
16 And at that time they had a notorious prisoner called Barabbas.[a]
17 Therefore, when they had gathered together, Pilate said to them, “Whom do you want me to release to you? Barabbas, or Jesus who is called Christ?”
18 For he knew that they had handed Him over because of envy.
19 While he was sitting on the judgment seat, his wife sent to him, saying, “Have nothing to do with that just Man, for I have suffered many things today in a dream because of Him.”
20 But the chief priests and elders persuaded the multitudes that they should ask for Barabbas and destroy Jesus.
21 The governor answered and said to them, “Which of the two do you want me to release to you?” They said, “Barabbas!”
22 Pilate said to them, “What then shall I do with Jesus who is called Christ?” They all said to him, “Let Him be crucified!”
23 Then the governor said, “Why, what evil has He done?” But they cried out all the more, saying, “Let Him be crucified!”
24 When Pilate saw that he could not prevail at all, but rather that a tumult was rising, he took water and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, “I am innocent of the blood of this just Person. You see to it.”
25 And all the people answered and said, “His blood be on us and on our children.”
26 Then he released Barabbas to them; and when he had scourged Jesus, he delivered Him to be crucified.
27 Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the Praetorium and gathered the whole garrison around Him.
28 And they stripped Him and put a scarlet robe on Him.
29 When they had twisted a crown of thorns, they put it on His head, and a reed in His right hand. And they bowed the knee before Him and mocked Him, saying, “Hail, King of the Jews!”
30 Then they spat on Him, and took the reed and struck Him on the head.
31 And when they had mocked Him, they took the robe off Him, put His own clothes on Him, and led Him away to be crucified.
32 Now as they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name. Him they compelled to bear His cross.

wow thats a deep pasage
just thinking about how much pain Jesus went through for me to go and live a perfect life in heaven after i leave earth
and just think he didnt have to do that at all but thats how mcuh he loves us .. theres people i love im my life but i honestly dont know if i could ever give my life for them
that just shows that Jesus has more love for us then we could ever have for a person
and all along He knew what was gonna happen because he knows all things and he was willing to go through that for us
that makes me want to never sin again in my life but i know its not possible because im human but him dying on the cross for me makes it possible for me to get forgiveness for what i do and the mistakes i make
