The first person to read Matthew 24:1-14 and answer these two questions about the passage will win. Post your answers on this blog page and we will find out the winner next week. If you were too late, read this passage anyway, this is the Suncoast Youth Group Devotions blog for Thursday, January 24th, 2008.
Two Questions:
1. What is this saying in your own words? (if you try, you wont get it wrong)
2. How should we apply this to our life?

This is Jesus telling the disciples that the end is near. If it was near back then, it is even closer now. Most of the things in this passage are happening now: many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, many false prophets will appear and deceive many people, the love of most will grow cold. We need to remember that 13. he who stands firm to the end will be saved.
We need to witness more and share the Gospel with as many people as possible because we don't know when Jesus is coming back. 14.And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.
well what i got out of this passage was :
that the end is coming soon and that there are other people are claiming to be God and having others believe in them instead of the real God
and how i can apply this to my life is :
make sure im a good example for others and show them the real one and only God through my actions and just make sure that everyone who comes in my life im a witness to because the end is coming soon ..sooner than we know
I agree that this passage is talking about the end of time, and how rough that time will be, It is amazing to see how many of those "future events" are happening right now. The most powerful verse for me this morning was verse 12: "and because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold." When we are living in sin, we dont love like we should, and it also shows we dont understand Gods love for us.
Life Application:
I need to avoid sin, so that I done wax cold in my love for the Lord and for others.
