Matthew 24:15-31
15 “Therefore when you see the ‘abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place” (whoever reads, let him understand),
16 “then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.
17 Let him who is on the housetop not go down to take anything out of his house.
18 And let him who is in the field not go back to get his clothes.
19 But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days!
20 And pray that your flight may not be in winter or on the Sabbath.
21 For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be.
22 And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened.
23 “Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘There!’ do not believe it.
24 For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.
25 See, I have told you beforehand.
26 “Therefore if they say to you, ‘Look, He is in the desert!’ do not go out; or ‘Look, He is in the inner rooms!’ do not believe it.
27 For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.
28 For wherever the carcass is, there the eagles will be gathered together.
29 “Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 30 Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
31 And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
PASTOR LEE:
If you dont understand much of this, it is ok. I highlighted two verses that should make sense to you. These verses speak of the coming rapture. The rapture is when Jesus comes again, and all believers will instantly be caught up into the air. And those that remain on earth, will simply think that we disappeared.
Post some kind of interesting thought about the rapture and then post what we should do to be ready for it.

Think about this:
With Katie being pregnant and all I was thinking, when the rapture happens babies which are under the "age of accountabilitiy" will also be raptured and that would mean that all pregnant women at the time of the rapture would have their babies disapear as well. I dont know this for sure, but it kind of makes sense. Interesting Thought.
I also use to think all the time, what if the pilot of a plane was a Christian and the rapture happened? Then everyone on the plane would crash unless someone else knew how to fly the plane.
Interesting Thoughts, but what is most important is that we all make sure we are ready for the rapture. When that day comes, I want to be ready to see Christ fact to face, with no guilt or shame of past sin, or what I could have done for Him that I didnt.
PRAISE God for the babies being taken home so wonderfully! Think of all the lives that would not have to go through the things that unborn babies go through. They would get to live a whole and perfect life! Praise God for the day we all go home to the Lord! All we have to remember is to live every second as it is our last. I remember when I was a young teen and that is when the "W.W.J.D." bracelets and accessories were just starting to get really popular. I personally always proudly wore them and would think about the sign of the Christian fish and the amazing significance of it. It was my way of sharing the other half of the fish with fellow Christians! I just wanted to thank you and all the wonderful Ladies and Gentlemen in the youth room for allowing us to be in there and help out. It is such a blessing to see today's youth in the Lord's house on Sunday mornings and Wednesday night! Thank you. My Dad got an email from someone today with the subject, "Celebrating Roe V Wade." I couldn't help but cry which is again why I say PRAISE GOD for his mercy! Praise God for the day the Lord comes back to take his people! I know I jump around when I talk sorry! :)
Love you guys!

In my opinion, there isn't any sure way to prepare for the coming of the Lord. My only thoughts are that we must constantly be in preparation. I believe that we should constantly be spreading the word and showing other teenagers, through our actions, that there is a God and he is coming. This isn't always easy though and it doesn't take much to get pulled away from the grace of God. I hope that as a youth group we can grow and learn from each other so that we can all spread the word of the Lord. That is the best way to prepare, so that we don't have to worry about who is left behind but rather, who is going.
when ever i think about the rapture i kinda get scared which i have some reason too because i have family and friends who are not saved but in the same case i shouldnt be scared because i know for a fact that i am going to heaven
just always be ready for the rapture and live everyday like its your last so when He does come back your ready {or as ready as you can be}
ok well i would right more but i have to go to school

Great comments! Remind your friends in youth group to get on and do their devotions as well. Explain to them how simple it is!
I actually visually saw something when reading these passages.
Lately we have been talking a lot about John 15:5; about the tree of life and we are the roots on that tree, and we are sustained by Jesus.
Gods plan is to keep the tree growing and keep all the roots alive. Its our choice to flow from the tree, or wither and not be with the tree. But in the end, that tree will ascend to Heaven and all of the roots that are connected will be pulled up with that tree. We are the roots. Jesus is the tree. God will pull us up when it is time.
Accountability is a large word, but I think its pertinent to this passage. We have to be accountable for our own actions, Because in the bible that's exactly what it says. We have the choice, and if you refer to the love triangle theory, in love there is passion, intimacy and commitment, the only real thing we have 100% say in that is commitment, and that is what we need to show the Lord. Sure, our passion isn't always 10/10 and our intimacy isn't either. But as long as we strive to keep the commitment 10/10 the rest should come with it.
I always wandered what happened to the people like pastor LEE said. But there is so much more. Everyone will be affected, small, big, large, powerful, weak. It matters not. Our commitment to Jesus is what he is looking for, when the car drives by and Jesus says, "Come in with me, we are on a mission for God." And you keep putting it off, and letting him drive by. In the end, intentions and actions are completely different, and our actions will decide who we are. Who are we if not what are commitments and our word are?
So anyways, sorry it's long and the information is from a lot of different sources. But I hope you understand how I feel on it.
When we get in that Car with Jesus, our job is getting other people in that car with Jesus, and to spread the word of God, and work for his plan not our own.
