Nice comments yesterday! keep it up!

Ecclesiastes 12

1 Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them;
2 While the sun, or the light, or the moon, or the stars, be not darkened, nor the clouds return after the rain:
3 In the day when the keepers of the house shall tremble, and the strong men shall bow themselves, and the grinders cease because they are few, and those that look out of the windows be darkened,
4 And the doors shall be shut in the streets, when the sound of the grinding is low, and he shall rise up at the voice of the bird, and all the daughters of musick shall be brought low;
5 Also when they shall be afraid of that which is high, and fears shall be in the way, and the almond tree shall flourish, and the grasshopper shall be a burden, and desire shall fail: because man goeth to his long home, and the mourners go about the streets:
6 Or ever the silver cord be loosed, or the golden bowl be broken, or the pitcher be broken at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the cistern.
7 Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.
8 Vanity of vanities, saith the preacher; all is vanity.
9 And moreover, because the preacher was wise, he still taught the people knowledge; yea, he gave good heed, and sought out, and set in order many proverbs.
10 The preacher sought to find out acceptable words: and that which was written was upright, even words of truth.
11 The words of the wise are as goads, and as nails fastened by the masters of assemblies, which are given from one shepherd.
12 And further, by these, my son, be admonished: of making many books there is no end; and much study is a weariness of the flesh.
13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

The beginning was a bit confusing, but the rest is saying how awesome preachers are! We know, we have quiet a few of them around! God has put the preachers in our lives for our own benifit, which is to motivate us about God, to help us worship Him, and to bring us together in hard times. Our Pastor(s) has definetly done that! Amen? Yes! Amen! Something we should all do next time we see PL or PC we should just tell them thank you for everything they have done for us. In a way, they act as spiritual parents. We treat our parents sometimes with no thanks, even when they have done a million things for us, even if it seems not so. The same goes for our Pastors. Thank them, and you know what, thank your parents too, no harm done.

what this says to me is that the words of the wise should be treasured! they should be looked upon, and they should be listened to.. that is what this says to me. like jesus.. EVERY word he said was wise and had meaning. but there are people now-a-days that speak to god through them. like pastors. we are to listen to their words.

Where would we honestly be without preachers? Like verse 10-11 states that their words are wise and we should listen to what they have to say-we learn valuable things from them because they are in the word of God and they listened to what Jesus says to us. So we need to remember to not listen to people who go by their own regulations-because that's not wisdom. And in verse 13, says what Dt Chp. 13:4 is saying. Deuteronomy Chp. 13:4 is telling us, "Ye shall walk after the Lord your God, and fear him, and keep his commandemnts, and obey his voice, and you shall serve him, and cleave unto him." I feel that these verses are important to the the overall passage. Because living with God's word and being obedient, we'll find that true joy like the begining of Ecclesiastes is saying, and also grow wiser. Amen:)

well my favorite verses were 13 and 14 because those were the ones that I completely understood. 13 says that the whole perpose were are on this earth is to fear God and keep His commandments, which I think is worshiping and honoring God. people are probably reading this and thinking if we are hear to woship God then why didn't God just create us in heaven so we could worship Him all the time. well think of it like this...if someone liked you for who you were and became friends with you it feels a lot better then making someone be your friend that doesn't even like you. that is why God created us on earth and not in heaven because He wants us to choose to love Him and not make us love Him because. also in verse 14 it says that God will bring every work into judgement, and his secrets good or bad. meaning when God takes us to heaven He will judge us and all of our secrets. so we should get right with God in every aspect of our lives because God will judge us some day in everything and we don't want to face God with sin in our lives.

Yeah, the first part is pretty confusing. Then, basically it just says that preachers are good people that deliver the message of God. It is every man's duty to fulfill the commandments of God; the preachers do their job, so we should be able to also. We shouldn't have a problem doing that; even though it can be very difficult to make time to read the Bible or pray or go to church, we must do this and worship the Lord. It's a way to thank the Lord for all He has given you, just like you should thank your parents and your Pastor for teaching you all they know and helping you with everything they can.

The beginning talks a lot about the fact that when we are young, innocent, and before most temptation and difficult decision hits we should enjoy life and not take it for granted. Verses 3 through 7 I can't begin to interpret I'll probably take some time tomorrow to look into it-I get excited about enigmatic or figurative things like that- but for now We need to remember to always listen to what our mentors have to say. The wisdom they can offer is priceless and when we take counsel in many Godly people then we have a much better chance of making right decision. DONT TAKE THEIR WISDOM FOR GRANTED.
