Good comments yesterday, Tyler and Emily, Pastor Lee would be proud!
Psalm 27
1 The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
2 When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.
3 Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.
4 One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple.
5 For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.
6 And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the LORD.
7 Hear, O LORD, when I cry with my voice: have mercy also upon me, and answer me.
8 When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, LORD, will I seek.
9 Hide not thy face far from me; put not thy servant away in anger: thou hast been my help; leave me not, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation.
10 When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take me up.
11 Teach me thy way, O LORD, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies.
12 Deliver me not over unto the will of mine enemies: for false witnesses are risen up against me, and such as breathe out cruelty.
13 I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.
14 Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.
This Passage has many great truths in it, I should have highlighted everything! One specifically though is that God will NEVER NEVER EVER LEAVE US, EVEN IF WE HAVE LEFT HIM! WOW THAT'S WHAT I CALL A GOD WHO CARES! Though that doesn't mean serve God for a little time, and then for the rest of your life go your own way, knowing in the back of your mind, "oh God will take care of me." NO! THAT'S NOT IT! Asking Christ to forgive your sins isn't really like a "get out of hell free ticket", Accepting Salvation came with a price, Jesus death for little 'ol us. We need to take up our cross and follow Him daily, and I'm talking to myself as well. SERVE HIM, come on you know you want to.....

this passage has a lot of good meaning to it!
i like verse 2. its saying, when we have God with us no one, not the wicked, not my enemies, not my foes can tear me down cause when they do they stumble and fall..
verse 9 i liike to. the 2nd part saything thatbGod has always and will be with you, so were the only ones who fade away and its our job to go back..
This passage really tells us that the Lord is with us and when we are with him, he will truly bless us. I really like verse 4 because it says what we will seek and desire of the Lord and needing his wisdom+advice everyday to grow so much closer to him. And verse 5 has a pretty famous line, "he shall set me up upon a rock." And I agree, since God never leaves us, we should never leave him! Just think of what Christ went through to save us from our sins. If you have ever seen scenes from 'Passion of Christ' it shows what he had went through to pay for our sins-hard to watch. We should always remember that sacrifice Jesus made for us because he loves us so much. Also, (verse 11) The Lord will lead us along the right path when we learn from him. If we are not with him all of the time, then we would go astray from that path he has set for us. Sometimes, you'll meet this really nice person who isn't in God's word and you see them struggle more and more with everyday things. They aren't 100% focused God's Word!- This can happen to us christians- but when people get back on the path God has set for them, they start to ignore meaningless things and focus more on what God is saying to them and hearts will be strengthend when we look to him like verse 14 says. All of these verses really have alot of meaning to them.

I like what Victoria was saying, it feels like that's what's happening to me! I need to get back on track with the Lord's word, and whenever I do, I feel much better about myself and like I'm actually going towards the right path, like Pastor Lee was talking about last night. Now for the passage, Verse 1 is pretty simple, it basically says that when the Lord is with you, you don't really need to be afraid of anything because as long as you have faith in Him, He will take care of you and lead you in the right direction. He won't let your enemies hurt you if you put all your faith into Him. When others may leave you or hurt you, the Lord will always be there for you whenever you need His help. In Verse 12, "Deliver me not over unto the will of mine enemies: for false witnesses are risen up against me, and such as breathe out cruelty," the author is saying that He needs the Lord's help to not give in to what his enemies want and give him the strength to stand up for what He believes in, the Lord. And just like Michael was saying, God will never leave us, we just have to have faith in Him. But also, we can't just forget about Him and go off on our own way and think He'll still take care of everything how we want it. We have to continue to worship Him every day and live by His word.
Thank You Emily!:) I've had lots of those 'off track' days also
You're welcome! ^_^ lol I hate that because then I feel like such a bad person :( and Nicole says hi! :p
lol, I know what you mean! Tell Nicole that I said hi and that I miss her! :) Are you in the same band with her?
i like the first verse a lot when it says that the Lord is my light and my salvation, that is soooooo true. the Lord is our light in dark places. when we fall to far in sin we need to get back on track with God and the best way to do that is through prayer and asking God for His help. so when God is our light when we get to caught up in sin (darkness) God lightens up a path for us to lead us back on the path with Him. also when it says that He is our salvation all we need to do is trust in Him and we will be with Him FOREVER.
Yes I am lol! and she's also in my 4th block =] I'll tell her :D
Nevermind, she just switched out of my 4th block :'( I almost forgot erg
The jest of this passage feels like deliverance. What do we have to fear with God with us? What strengthens us and saves us? Jesus Christ is the answer to so many unanswered questions. When the world is completely against us, when our brothers and sisters and even family come against us who will be with us? Our heavenly Father will be there. It feels so good knowing that. Verse 5 where Solomon mention us being set upon a rock by God this is important, in time of trouble we can be set upon a rock, unmoved. We can KNOW that when we need him he will be there when we cry out. Verse 12 is interesting, it talks about false witnesses breathing cruelty. Sometimes people's hearts are not entirely in the lord and they are being used to hurt people. I pray that I will be wise enough and have a heart so fixed on God's will as to not ever be a false witness in any way. Verse 14 is BIG it reminds us that, although all these things we can count on we have to WAIT ON THE LORD. This takes courage. Evidently something I lack because I am SO STINKING INSECURE in either myself or God's power that often times I feel like I need to do something about the situation, right now, no matter what it is. A lack of courage and lack of patience is the fear of indifference and the fear of no control. God tells us we need to let go of the things we can't control but for whatever reason think we can. Such a good last verse.
Had a good time at Sun Splash today.
