Hye Guys! Some of you have not been on in a while ! We miss you!

Wow! This passage is great you guys!! I love it!! Take some time to really let this passage sink in...

Romans 6

1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound?
2 Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?
3 Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death?
4 Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
5 For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection,
6 knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin.
7 For he who has died has been freed from sin.
8 Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him,
9 knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over Him.
10 For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God.
11 Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
12 Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts.
13 And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.
14 For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.
From Slaves of Sin to Slaves of God

15 What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not!
16 Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one’s slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness?
17 But God be thanked that though you were slaves of sin, yet you obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine to which you were delivered.
18 And having been set free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness.
19 I speak in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. For just as you presented your members as slaves of uncleanness, and of lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves of righteousness for holiness.
20 For when you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness.
21 What fruit did you have then in the things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death.
22 But now having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end, everlasting life.
23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Wow! Once again, this is a grea tpassage... I was a little nervous about doing devotions through the first few chapters of Romans, but these stuff here is GREAT!!!

So, the qeustion is: Since God has forgiven us from our sin... can we just go live how we want and God's "grace" will take care of our wicked lifestyle...? Sounds like a fair question: but the answer is NO WAY!!! CERTAINLY NOT!!!!

We USE TO BE SLAVES TO SIN!!! But NOW WE ARE FREED FROM THE BONDAGE OF OUR SIN and we are free to live for God...

In fact the writer point out... Hey rememmber when you were slaves to sin... well, NOW YOU SHOULD BE SLAVES TO GOD!!!!

Just surrender yourself to him! He is not a mean master! He is a GREAT MASTER!!!!! He LOVES YOU! HE OWNS EVERYTHING AND HE WANTS YOU TO BE HAPPY!!!!

So, STOP LIVING IN SIN!!! Stop living under the bondage that you have been freed from!!!!

Think about this... lets say that you got put in jail for something that you did... well, lets say that someone came and paid your bail... you could GO FREE!!!

YOU WOULD BE CRAZY TO STAY IN THAT PRISON WHEN YOU HAVE BEEN SET FREE!!!! WELL, that is what we do whenever God sets us gfree from the prison of sin and we choose to live in our sin after we have been saved!!

NOW THAT IS SOM EGOOD PREACHING!! :)

You guys have a great day!!

Romans is one of my favorite books of the bible by far. I certainly cannot imagine staying in a jail after I have been set free. Being a slave to sin always takes precedence over being a slave to God, not because we do not love God but because we are inherently sinful. Thus the walk with God will justifiably be a rocky one.

I PRAY that I will become a slave to God's word and to his throne. So that rather than being tempted by sin I am tempted even further into the kingdom of heaven.

As Christians we are facing some really hard times in this day and age. Worldly view points have literally taken over and they dominate our daily lives, no matter what we do. However, we can choose to NOT take part in these activities and remain a slave of the Lord.

I have a revelation to make, while it may be political it is essentially religious. I was having a hard time with my political views, becoming more liberal as the days went on. I was pro-choice, for gay marriage and so many other left-wing extremest nonsense. When I got to college I feared that I would become even more left-wing, while there is nothing wrong with that many of their views go against my Lord! I am happy to say that I freed myself from the grip of those chains and on November 4 I am voting Republican. At my age this is NOT popular, however I finally dug deep into these issues and learned my real point of view. :]

Have a great weekend everyone! I just wanted to say that I won't be able to do my devotions because I am going to fall retreat with Campus Crusade for Christ. We aren't bringing computers and our phones are going to be off most of the time. We are going there to really fellowship and get away from the fast-paced atmosphere of the world. I will be praying for you all! Have a great weekend.

I think a lot of Christians are "lukewarm" like it says in Revalation 3:16. Some people just get saved and think "Oh sweet, I just got saved, and now i'm goin' to heaven!" and later go off and commit more sin like praying to Jesus just now was a ticket to heaven. They need to read this chapter of Romans and learn from it.

I figured since I haven't been on in a while, I should try to jump back in.....things have been crazy words can't even describe it.

Let's go.....
Romans 6 deals with these crucial questions: How shall I live the Christian life? So many times we as Christians follow the way of the flesh instead of the Word of God. Why? Because we are humans or becasue we are iggnorant. I know I alsways want to do God's will but most of the times I fail or as Paul describes it, "the things that I want to do I don’t do and the things that I hate, those things I do! I desire to do God’s will but I cannot perform that which is right!" I don't want to be in bondage. And I don't have to becasue I know what Christ did for me.

WOW! This passage is deep today Pastor Lee!

I love this passage its one of my favorites in the Bible!
This passage is talking about giving God your heart and selling away our wicked sins and replacing them with God and His Word! We should no longer be slaves of sin! But we were crucified with Christ so that we can live in the likeness of Him! Jesus loved us Way TOO much to die on the cross for us and to release the tension on us, like when he died on the cross for us, He painted a picture of how we can either go to Heaven like He did after He rose again or we can keep living in our sin and letting sin control our lives in any way possible!! -(in another words either become a Christian and except the Word of God or you can reject the Word of God and go to hell when you die)-- Like Romans 6:23 says " For the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" - thats the only answer!

Rachel Evelyn--I am SO proud of you even though we don't know each other. You are apparently learning to use God's Word to guide your daily life. We need to look at the issues before we vote and see which side more closely agrees with our convictions, based on God's Word. Voting is not only a right, it is a privilege and I believe God holds us accountable in ALL walks of life.

this says that if we are going to be slaves than we should be slaves unto righteousenss and produce the fruits of good and not evil. also if we are going to be slaves we sould be a slave unto God and worship Him. we should just worship God anyways without being told so we can show how much we love God and want to worship Him for the rest of our lives and our lives to come.

sorry i haven't been on this week but my week has been very HECTIC with homework and football but im back now. oh ya i just wanted to know if we are still going to do a chapter at a time now that we are out of Genesis.

JUST BECAUSE YOU GET SAVED, DOSENT MEAN YOU SHOULD STILL BE LIVING FOR GOD!!

YES, YOUR GOING TO HEAVEN, BUT, YOU NEED TO BE A LIVING EXAMPLE FOR CHRIST!

IT IS SOO IMPORTANT THAT WE (AS CHRISTIANS) MAKE SURE THAT WHAT WE DO AND WHAT WE SAY WILL BE PLEASING TO THE LORD.

Ughh so tired must sleep ZZZzzzzz...

Huh what oh yeah the devotions. So ummm Yeah we see in the beggining how there is a question. "Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound?" Uh NO! As christians we should be living a life that honors god and shows others his grace and mercy. That way we can get more people to heaven so that not as many people have to foolishly go to hell for no reason except that they are sinners that won't give their life to god. Wow that was a run on sentence.

Anywho Sorry I'm on so late I was working on something for sunday night and got distracted. Remember This Sunday is the teenage takeover so be prepared and help out if you can.

If anyone can watch the first 18 seconds of this, and tell me the answer to it on either tomorrows devotion or at church I will give you a cookie. If it takes you till the 25th second I will praise you. If you do as bad as the guy on this video I will laugh, say wow in an exasperated manner, tell you that you deserve to be slapped in the back of the head, and i will slap you in the back of the head.

So this is a pretty neat passage, i think about this kind of stuff a lot.
Just because Jesus died to save us and we accepted Him as our savior, is that where the story ends as we continue to lead sin filled lives that dont serve Him?
He died not just to save us from hell, bu to save us from all of that evil we were involved in before and to live better lives serving Him.
SO THATS WHAT I SHOULD DO!
Thats a problem for everyone sometimes but its a great thing Christ did for us, and an even greater live we are offered.,so why not take it up?
