Hello my fellow Auctioneers! This is a little long: but bear with me. It is good stuff!
I hope you were able to join us at the dessert auction last night! We sold almost 30 desserts and raised over $2500.00 dollars! It was a whole munch of fun too! If you were not there... Same on you! (unless you had a good excuse)
I want to say a special thank you to the teenagers at church last night. It is wonderful to know that I can challenge each of you with something, and you listen to the challenge and change what needs to be changed. You all are GREAT! Last Sunday night there were 4 teenagers in church. Yesterday I explained how important it is to be in church (even on Sunday Nights) and about 24 of you were there last night! It was so very encouraging to see each of you there last night.
I guarantee that if you keep it up, you will be rewarded and blessed for it!
I almost called it a sacrifice, but really 2.39% is not a sacrifice. I was talking to a few of you yesterday who told me, we should come up with more things to do with church, so that we can raise that percentage. I said it was a great idea: But I want your help coming up with what we will do! Here are a few of my thoughts:
We could meet on Tuesday Nights for some kind of Teen Praise Band, or Teen Choir, or something like that. We could meet on Thursday Night for visitation!! I am sure there are even more exciting things you can think of. Comment them along with your devotions today!
A Few Thoughts From Yesterday:
Jeff: What in the World is "Teen Titans"
Jessica: Great job on the devos this week! I am thankful that you are finally in youth group! I talked with Lucy yesterday and explained to her that I want you and her and all of these other 7th graders to really jump start this summer. Get involved in every way you can; whether it is by doing devos online, or by coming to all our activities.
McCue: I am glad your phone lets you do devos online! Sweet! Stay faitfhul as much as possible!
Amy: We miss you! What did you do to your knee? When you come back are you going to be allowed to come to youth group on Sundays now?
John 4:27-38
27 And at this point His disciples came, and they marveled that He talked with a woman; yet no one said, “What do You seek?” or, “Why are You talking with her?”
28 The woman then left her waterpot, went her way into the city, and said to the men,
29 “Come, see a Man who told me all things that I ever did. Could this be the Christ?”
30 Then they went out of the city and came to Him.
31 In the meantime His disciples urged Him, saying, “Rabbi, eat.”
32 But He said to them, “I have food to eat of which you do not know.”
33 Therefore the disciples said to one another, “Has anyone brought Him anything to eat?”
34 Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work.
35 Do you not say, ‘There are still four months and then comes the harvest’? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest!
36 And he who reaps receives wages, and gathers fruit for eternal life, that both he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together.
37 For in this the saying is true: ‘One sows and another reaps.’
38 I sent you to reap that for which you have not labored; others have labored, and you have entered into their labors.”
Verses 28 - 30 explain how this woman went and spread the news about the messiah to the people she knew. What an example. She just believed in Christ, and she immediately went out to witness: some of us have been saved our entire life, and we SILL dont witness! Why is that?
We must understand that if we are not sharing the truth of Christ to the people in our life then we are failing at what God has asked us to do! We should spread the good news by whatever means possible; whether that means to talk about him at school, to talk about him on your myspace, to talk about him when you are with your friends, and every other opportunity you have!
Verses 31-33 are kind of funny. While the woman that Christ met at the well is out witnessing to others; The disciples tell Jesus that He needs to eat. Well, "Christ tells them: I have food to eat that you dont know about..." (Obviously He is being figurative; giving an illustration) Hoever, the disciples start asking each other: Did someone already bring Him food?
NO SILLY! NO ONE BROUGHT HIM FOOD!! He is explaining that there is something more important than eating! Jesus must have thought: You guys just dont get it! Jesus went on to explain to the men what He meant.
verses 34-38 explain what Jesus was thinking when He said "I have food which you dont know of".
I am almost done but you have to understand this to get the passage. Food is what keeps us going, it is what nourishes us, and helps us stay alive. The disciples thought that some bread was what kept them going, but Jesus explained that there is a greater source of life. A greater source of nourishment, a greater source that "keeps us going" and that is to "DO GOD'S WILL"!!!!
We dont need to put it off! The fields are already white unto harvest! They are READY! We must go ahead and "eat the food" or Follow the will of God for our lives!
What are your thoughts?

wow i'm first again!!! lazy teens, sleeping in just because it is summer pfffft who has time for that! just kidding i had to wake up to let my friend in. oh well.
the one thing that really stuck out to me was what the woman does in verses 28- 30.she immediatly drops what she is doing and go's into the city to spread what she has heard, according to the will of christ!
we should all be willing to drop what were doing when christ calls and do that of what he says.we as a church and as christians should be willing to reach out and spread the good news. dont ya think?!!!!!
well i wil probably be back tomorow so miss me till then.
JUST KIDDING!!
oh and i think that is a great idea to get together on tuesdays and thursdays!
Teen titans is a show about teen super heroes and that who we are the teen titans. Just kidding but I think we should make some more videos or we could do something but thats a good idea I really would like to do that. I cant believe that we really raised that much money wow wasn't there one cake that sold for like 210 dollars and then put back on auction.
The woman was so impressed by Jesus that she went into the city and told everyone to follow her back to see Christ. Jesus friends urged him to eat but Jesus said no and that his food was to do the work off God. Wow doing the work off God was more important than eating. When he said the fields are ready I think he meant the people are ready to hear the word off God and to get saved. We need to talk to people it is time!
Hey Hey!!!!!
This passage is pretty cool! I need to start reading the bible more cause it seems like everyday we have a passage i never heard of!!! (what up with that)
it's amazing how she hears about Christ and automatically go to witness!!! and like pastor lee said must of us have been saved 2 years tops and we still don't really witness to anybody.
before i read the rest it kinda freaked me out how he said "i have food you don't know of" but then i read the rest and understood it.
well those were the things that stuck out to me!
and Pastor Lee this is the 1st day of the summer that i will do my devo's EVERYDAY!!!!
HEYYYY =] Last night was super fun except that i threw up the whole night i think it was that pie lol =]
so first this woman goes and tells everyone of Jesus and almost everyone gets saved. which reminds me that i need to witness more not only to people but also with my testimony...anyways jesus and his disiples get into this huge confusing thing about food where jesus is trying to explain that he is the bread of life and that eating is not as important as witnessing and doing like Pastoral unit Leonard said doing God's will.
The thunderstorm going on shut off my computer, no lieeee, right as i was going to click "publish your comment" button
:/
Anyways, what i had said before,
I think that us doing our devotions is filling us with spiritual fuel that we should use to do Gods will.
I dont know about you, but i would never fill a car with gas that i had no intention of driving. The same thing goes for us, dont waste everything you are gaining, use it!
We should be like the woman in these past few passages and be quick to share what we believe.
Great application Rachel!! I would never fill a car with gas that I was not planning on using either. That is a GREAT Illustraion!
wow this is cool... its funny how most of us teens have grown up in church and still dont witness... (not really funny) but... this woman heres the gospel, gets saved, and IMMEDIATELY goes and starts spreading what she just heard... thats cool... we need to stop being so lazy... PEACE
Yrah we do gotta stop bein lazy! Most of us have known Christ4 most of our lives & this woman knew him 4 all of what...10 min & she's ALREADY tellin the world about him...
I agree w/Jeff
"When he said the fields are ready I think he meant the people are ready to hear the word off God and to get saved. We need to talk to people it is time!"
That's EXACTLY what I thought when I read the end of the passage=]We gotta quit holdin it off...

man bein grounded STINKS!!!
I really DID sow what i reapt=[
lesson learned=[
well this is saying is that after Jesus was done talking to the women at the well she went straight to the people in the town and started witnessing to them and telling them what Jesus did to her and said to her. we should be more like that, always telling people about Jesus even if we don't know them. also when she was away in the town the disiples told Jesus to eat and He said He had food that they didn't know of and they thought He was talking about edible food, but He was really talking about spiritual food by doing God's will. Jesus also says that you will reap what you sow which is SO TRUE, even if it is good or bad. so really we should always be telling people about Christ (witnessing), we should be doing God's will so we can be spiritually fed, and we should try to reap (do) good thing so that we can sow (get) good things.
This passage gives us a great witnessing challenge, but something a little different really jumped out at me. We know that this lady had a really rough background. From what we know about her, she was pretty much a harlot. Think about this, despite her bad reputation she was willing to share Christ with everyone in her community. Probably a lot of the people she told looked down on her, and maybe even mocked her. Despite all of this, she was willing to share Christ. Am I willing to share Christ with those around me who dislike me? Also think about this. After she met Christ, she was a new person. You could just tell by looking at her that she was different. If she hadn't been different, do you think that the other people would have come to see Jesus- definitely not! When people look at me, do they see a difference? When people look at you, do they see a difference? If people don't see a difference in us they will never want to come to Christ either. We must remember that to be a good witness we must be showing Christ in our actions every day.
Cool passage so this women gos back to the city and tells the people about the miracle she experienced and that she thinks he can be the Christ and she says to them i have food which you dont know about and i think that might mean that she got saved correct me if im wrong Pastor Lee.
i dont know what happend to my knee it just hurts really bad my dad might bring me to the doctor to get a scan thing to figure out whats wrong with it. and maybe i'll be allowed to come on sundays i'll ask my mom whenever i get back.
This story is great Jesus explaines to the woman @ the well that there is the food (spitual food) the Bible and how important it is. and the food that Jesus has they dont know about. and then she takes it.
When we're doing God's will then we will do good in life. When we are not in God's will, that's like not eating for a month. We won't be doing our best. Being in God's will is important. It's much better than your own will.
If we do God's will, we will never stray, we will never go hungry or thirsty. We need to witness and tell what God has done in our lives, just like the woman at the well. Jesus calls us to witness and promises us rewards.
