Proverbs 9:10-18

Pastor Lee:
This passage starts out by explaining once again how important wisdom is; If they say how important Wisdom is over and over, maybe we should listen! Well, the rest of the passage brings up an interesting thought; During the past three days we were invited by wisdom to come and be influenced by her. And today we see the contrast, for the person that chooses not to accept Gods wisdom, there is a path of destruction. The opposite person of wisdom is the person of folly and shame. Literally, the simple minded or "dumb" are the ones that fall into this path of destruction. The fool will enter into the path of sin, thinking everything is going to be great, but he doesnt know that every other person that walked in before him is dead inside. Kind of sounds like a horror story doesnt it. It should! Sin makes our life horrible! What did you get out of this?

10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.
11 For by me thy days shall be multiplied, and the years of thy life shall be increased.
12 If thou be wise, thou shalt be wise for thyself: but if thou scornest, thou alone shalt bear it.
13 A foolish woman is clamorous: she is simple, and knoweth nothing.
14 For she sitteth at the door of her house, on a seat in the high places of the city,
15 To call passengers who go right on their ways:
16 Whoso is simple, let him turn in hither: and as for him that wanteth understanding, she saith to him,
17 Stolen waters are sweet, and bread eaten in secret is pleasant.
18 But he knoweth not that the dead are there; and that her guests are in the depths of hell.

If we acknowledge wisdom we will have long life as the Bible says in verse 11 and a foolish women is simple and knoweth nothing in verse 13. In verse 17 its kinda saying revenge is sweet and the secrets that are bad about people and you keep from them are pleasant. Listen to wisdom because if you don't listen to her she will keep on crying out to you.

When we accept and reach for wisdom, we gain a lot of great blessings; long life, wisdom, & favor of God. Wosdom isnt even a choice really becaue ut says here that ones who reject wisdom are stuck with sin that is confusing and ends you up dead. Not only is wisdom something you should want to have, it is something you reallyy need to have as well. Wisdom from the Lord is what keeps us away from the path of destruction and closer to what we really want.

Again wisdom is good get yours today. You know the way pastor lee described this passage it would be cool to make a movie of it. Its cool to know that through wisdom we would live longer as it says in verse 11. You know if it weren't for that stupid foolish women there propably wouldn't be as much people in hell. What i just can't understand though is what idiot would go to the foolish person when she seems not to offer anything while wisdom is giving a plentifull bounty.
