Dear Parents and Friends,
This morning we are leaving the campsite at 7:30AM. Please pray for us that we will have a safe and fun trip home! We are expecting to be home sometime around 9:30 PM, but I will have someone post an updates time in the comment section of this blog. Please check back throughout the day to find our progress.
We have had a phenomenal week and we are so excited about sharing it with you on Sunday Morning!

FRIDAY, August 8, 2008
Wow, today is 8-8-8!
I have so much to tell all of you! Where do I begin! Well, yesterday was a GREAT day! The best part of the day was by far the "Family Reunions". That is a time on Thursdays where everyone goes and spends an hour with their youth group. It is a time to share what God has been doing, a time to creatively make a memory for Suncoast Youth Grou here at the wilds.
I think it was the highlight for my week! It was great! We had many teenagers give testimonies: Some explained that they complain too much, some explained that they are disrespectful, some shared that they struggle with Trust, and the list goes on and on!! It was so great to see what God is convicting these teenagers of...
One funny testimony was given by David... I had given a last call for testimonies, and I said, "I know one of you are sitting here and you know you are supposed to give a testimony, but you have not yet" Just when I said that Davids hand shot up in the air... I said Great David! I am glad that you are sharing a tesitmony... and David said: "It is not me!! It is Him! (pointing up towards God"
What an encouragement yesterday was, as wewere able to see how God is working in the lives of our teenagers!! Many teenagers told of their struggles and explained how they are going to battle them whenever they get home. It was wonderful.
Another thing we did during our family reunion was write letters. I had each teenager write themselves a letter that they will receive in a month. They wrote a letter that reminded them of the things they have learned this week, they told themselves what they should have done when they got back home, and they reminded themselves to stay faithful in their time with God...
After they finished writing their letter, they sealed them and gave them to me... It is awesome to think that one month from now we will all be getting together to see how God worked here at the wilds!
I am so excited about Sunday Morning! Pastor Chip has given us the morning service to share what God has done at the wilds!! We will be playing a video, listening to testimonies and a few other exciting things! Make sure you are in church Sunday Morning!!
Now: I have some hilarious news to share with you!!! Nick Hill Rode The GIANT SWING!!!!!!!!! Can you believe it! I did not even know it until some teenagers, Nick, and his counselor told me about it before supper last night! He said that He loved it and he said he was so glad that He did it! I was blown away!!
There is much more to tell you, but I must go to a meeting right now. I will tell you later on today or Sunday.
Thanks for your prayers!! Tonight is the fireside service! Pray specifically that God will call some of our teenagers into Full-Time Service, Pray that God will Save our Lost Teenagers, and Pray that God will work in the hearts of our teenagers in issues like: Rebelion, Attitude, Substance Abuse, Language, Modesty, Immorality, Worldly Minds, Media, Entertainment, and much much more!
Eric Cheske and I spent about an hour praying for each of your teenagers specifically this morning! We pray that you also will invest your time into praying for your teenager today!! Thanks for all of your comments! See you tomorrow night!

THURSDAY, August 7th, 2008 at THE WILDS
WOW! Can you believe that today is Thursday already?? This week has gone by SO FAST! The weeks at the wilds always do go by fast, but this week especially has seemed to go by faster than I have ever remembered! It is sad to think that tomorrow will be the last day here!
Let me tell you about yesterday:
It was another extremely busy day! Yesterday our teenagers woke up, went to breakfast and then the morning service. After the morning service they had "God and I time". Then they went and played some games out in the field. After the games they had a "Christian Life Seminar" which is a short message aimed specifically at a relevant topic. The CLS was on "Choosing Video Games that Glorify God". That is definitely something that our teenagers need to hear about!
After the CLS our teenagers had a picnic lunch out on the ball field, and then they played a great game called "The Cat in the Hat". About 2:15 the guys went down to the fourth falls, while the girls went down to the lake. It was quite the strenuous hike. I must admit, I am pretty sore as I sit here typing this, this morning! We made it back around 4:00pm and then went to dinner around 5:00pm. Last night after dinner we went to the evening service. It was a great message by Rich Tozour. He preached on the fact that we must be ready for Christ second coming!! After the service we saw many people step out during the invitation to get some things right!
After the evening service we had "FUN TIME", a great time of skits that are done by the camp staff. It was quite hilarious!!! We were laughing the entire time! Finally, after "FUN TIME" we had a camp wide pizza party. It was incredible! There were teenagers everywhere. One of the biggest forms of intertainment at the pizza praty was our teenagers as they were doing all of their cool (terrifying if you are a mother) flips! It was exciting to watch! They probably had 150 people standing around them watching them! THEY LOVED THAT!!! :)
Today will be a busy day... We are doing the normal morning routine. Breakfast, Morning Service, God and I time, Games on the field, Lunch, the the girls will be going on a hike either to 4th or 2nd falls, while the guys have the rest of the campsite to themselves!! In other words, the guys will be doing the sing, the slide, the land trolley, and much much more!!
Please continue to pray for our teens. There are many teens that have not budged spiritually, and we are praying that God will work TODAY!!!!! Please pray often for them! God will not ignore our requests!!!
Thanks for everything! Pastor Lee

WEDNESDAY, August 6th, 2008 AT THE WILDS
Hey Everyone! It is so good to see all of you taking part in finding out what is going on here at camp! We are having the time of our lives!! We are going to breakfast in 8 mintues at 7:45am so I will tell you what I can now, and then I will come on again after breakfast...
Yesterday: (Tuesday)
What a great/ busy day it was! We did everything from taking a hike to one of the four beautiful water falls on the campsite. We went to Second Falls, where we were able to swim and climb up on the waterfall where there is a natural slide that tosses you down into the water... It was great fun!
After the falls hike, Pastor Chip and Mike West and Lee Tomlin and Eric Cheske rode the GIANT SWING!! With many of the teenagers standing by laughing at us! :) It was a lot of fun!!! Way scarier than I remember!! We also went tubing down the creek and went to three great services and played miniature golf and rode the SUPER SLIDE (a water slide that goes from the top of the mountain to the bottom of the mountain)
I guess you can see that we have been busy....
The guys went to the lake yesterday and today we are taking a VERY STRENUOUS HIKE to the fourth falls!! It will be exciting! I can tell I am not 19 years old anymore!! That is sad... well it is time for breakfast so I will be back in a bit! :)
Breakfast was delicious: Cheesy Eggs, Bacon, Sausage and Biscuits! The food here has been wonderful! Well this morning your teenagers will be going down to a morning service where they are studying the life of Joseph. What a great example Joseph was even without the indwelling Holy Spirit and the Word of God. If we have those then we are at a great advantage to live for God!
The events today will keep the teenagers just as busy as yesterday. The ladies will be blobbing each other at the lake among many other things and the guys will be going on a great hike to the second largest waterfall in the entire state of North Carolina!!!
Let me tell you a few more thoughts about our day yesterday and then I am going to go get the day started:
I talked with almost all of your teenagers yesterday and I heard hardly any complaints at all, which is a miracle when we are talking about "teenagers" :)
Michael, Josh LaPerriere, Bethany, Josh Sandefur, Scott, Rachel, Mallory, Jessica Staley, Phillip, Brenden, Jake, and Dylan said to tell their parents that they love you and they miss you!!
Josh L: gave me a note to type to his parents: Hey guys! I am having a wonderful week! The guys in my cabin have given me a new nickname: They call me bamboo!!! Love you guys and miss you very much!!
To respond to your messages yesterday:
Debbie and Crystal: Thanks for keeping up with us!
Mr. and Mrs. Flint: Brittany is having a great time with her cabin mates! She is also really good at finding our teenagers! I have seen her several different times with our teenagers! She is having a great time!
Tammi: Thanks for checking on us! Josh Sandefur asks me everyday if you went onto the blog to comment! I am so excited to tell him that you did, and that you told him you love and miss him! He will be thankful! He is having an incredible time!! I am so happy for him!
Mrs. Beals: Hey there! We are having a great time! Pray that Alex and David will get involved... Alex is REALLY using his ankle as an excuse to get out of everything! He will really miss out on a lot unless he decides to get involved! Pray that God will change their heart.
Mrs. King: I will definitely tell Rachel that Raja is a girl! I think she will be happy about that! Thanks for checking up on us! Kepp praying for Rachel, she was a little sore again last night! But she had some medicine to take, so she should be great today!
Anne: Pray for Gabbi. She seems to be having a great time! But we are still wwaiting on God to work in a great way in her heart! I am excited to see the great things that she will do for His glory!! This week has been great for her!
Gram: Is this candy? We wish you were able to see us up here again! (at least to take our picture like you did last year!! :) Hope you enjoyed your vacation! Brenden is having a blast!
Paul: Pray for me! I am going to the fourth falls today! Pray for Jill! She didnt sound as happy as normal yesterday... I think I know why... God is at work! Pray that she will let Him work in her heart!
Frisbee King: Ha! That is funny! Did you really win last year? I didnt remember that! I guess I blocked that out of my memory :) We miss you guys! But we are having a blast and thank you for praying daily! Tyler is doing great! He is really being a blessing to Kervin! I think they will be great buddies by the time we get home!
Alyssa: I will tell her that you miss and love her whenever I see her today! I am glad that you are on here with us!
Mal's Mom: I will tell Mallory to take lots of Pics! I know every year that I got home, I always wished that I had taken more pictures!!!
Lynda Russell: Thanks for allowing us to be a part of your girls life! They have been a tremendous blessing to Katie and I here at suncoast Baptist Church! I have thanked the Lord for beringing them to us many many times!!
Christine: Tell yvonne that Phillip sais hey and He loves her!! We are all having a great time! Bethany is really building some life long friendships! She is a GREAT GREAT GIRL!!!
Yvonne: Hey!! read the above line... part of it is to you! :) I am glad your computer is working!! We are having a great time! It is so sad that the week is already half way over! :(
Mr. and Mrs. Greer: I will tell scott Hello for you! He is having a great time! I just saw him this morning! I cannot tell you what a great kid he is, and I REALLY REALLY REALLY hope that He says involved with Suncoast Youth whenever we get thome!!! :)
Marvino: I am glad that you are coming man! This place is AMAZING!!!! words cannot do it justice!~ I know that youwill have a blast!!
A few last words: I was reading this morning in Isaiah 25 and this passage talks about how God has the ability to destroy the walls that we have up in our lives...
These teenagers have MANY walls us spiritually and emotionally! I have never sensed the spirit of Apathy that I know our youth group struggles with! Pray that God will break down the walls that are holding them back from the true joy that He planned from before time for them to experience!!!! It will be a wonderful thing to see God tear down these walls!!
The end of that chapter says that He will make a fortress back into dust... I pray that he makes the walls that these teenagers have up, into dust! never to be built up again!!!
Pray for that with me!! Thanks! We love you all! Pastor Lee

REMEMBER TO CONTINUE PRAYING FOR OUR TEENAGERS!!!
WE ARE AT THE WILDS!
After a wonderful and safe 12 hours of driving, we are here in Brevard NC at the Wilds. Your teenagers had a wonderful time yesterday. We arrived in Jacksonville at Trinity Baptist Church at 6:00pm for the evening service. After the service we went out to my parents house where they had lots of fun waiting for us there. As we pulled in the driveway we saw three large bounce houses: An Obstacle Course, A Velcro Wall/ Body Suit Jumper/ and a Teeball Game... We were outside sweating and wearing ourselves out until almost 11:00pm.
As you can imagine, that left us very tired. Most of us were able to get a little sleep from about 12:00am until 4:00am. With Megaphone in hand, I had the priveledge of waking everyone up this morning. That was a joy! :)
We got on the road by 4:40am and arrived at the camp by 2:00pm.
The trip here was the best/ easiest/ fastest/ smoothest ride up here I have ever had. Praise the Lord!
Right now as I am posting this blog our teens are eating supper: PIZZA!!! (I just ate and it was delicious)
After dinner all of the campers are going to Orientation and then they will be heading out to the field for BIG BALL!!!
Tonight's first service will be at 8:45 pm. Pray that God begins to work in great ways!!!
I will post more about the great things happening some time tomorrow morning! I will probably wait until the afternoon as I have done today, so that I will have lots of information to share with you about the day.
Thanks for your prayers!!!!
Please feel free to comment or ask any questions that you may have!

I will post more about the great things happening some time tomorrow morning! I will probably wait until the afternoon as I have done today, so that I will have lots of information to share with you about the day.
Thanks for your prayers!!!!
Please feel free to comment or ask any questions that you may have!

Parents, let me share a few more thoughts with you...
1. I will be on this blog EVERY DAY... please use this means to contact me or to give your teenagers messages. Cell phone reception is usually not too good in the mountains, so I will be reading your comments online each day.
2. Please feel free to leave comments to let us know that you are reading about your teens daily. You do not have to set up an account to comment. Simply type your name where it says: "Name/ URL:" and then click: "Post Comment"
3. PLEASE PRAY FOR YOUR TEENAGERS AND OUR YOUTH GROUP EVERY SINGLE DAY. Pray for safety, and spiritual growth!
4. Thank you for being involved with our youth ministry and thank you for allowing your teenager to be a part of this OUTSTANDING event!
